This is a good way to make a hot battery and possibly a fire. You should have the switch on one wire and the other wire directly hooked up. Let’s say the two red wires tied together, and the black wires each going to a terminal on the switch.

It did not work in my case😢. I made this model in my school's science exhibition with a much bigger switch but it did not function. I took help from one electrician who told me that the negative wire of the motor will not be connected to the switch. It will directly connected to the battery only and the positive wire of the motor will be connected to the switch with the battery. It then started functioning smoothly. When I connected both the positive negative wire to the switch, the motor was running even when the switch was off or on. I am not sure whether it will work in smaller switch or not .
