I will PATIENTLY wait years for critical role content. The vox machina show is what got me into dnd and I’m now running my own campaign with 5 new players. Critical role has changed my life and strengthened my relationships with old friends and new friends alike. With that being said trust me and all the other true fans when we say, please, take all the time yall need to make what yall make.

Honestly, it’s still calming to hear something, even when that something is “it is being worked on” lol
I’ve had too many shows I adore blindside me with: “it’s not happening anymore” after being hype for years 😭 I understand production is complicated and I don’t blame the creators of those shows at all, but it calms my nerves to hear “we’re actively working on it” lol

We can wait it's worth it. when you first said you all would like to do a cartoon, I was behind the idea and am so lucky to see it happen. Thank you CR.

Its not they had to worry about a writer's and actor's strike last year screwing up any hope of a schedule, and then having to replace Lance Reddick for the most important villain of the season.
Lance Reddick is going to be missed.

I'm was hoping that they were far enough in production of VM3 that he had recorded his lines before he passed. And that maybe this was the season they killed Thordak so it wouldn't be such an issue moving forward.
@savingpyro Matt said in an interview that the Chroma Conclave was the longest arc in the campaign. There is effectively no way they could have gotten all the Vestiges and killed all the dragons in one season. It would have been extremely rushed, and it would have turned out really bad.
Good things take time. They're doing the best they can while still going at a steady pace.

It was announced a while back when the big deal between Amazon and Critical Role was announced. Essentially, after LoVM blew up on Prime, Amazon basically gave them a sweet deal for them to produce their animated shows on Prime.
Campaign 3 hasn't been announced, but I mean, we all know it's a matter of time.

I cried hearing the audio teaser for M9 getting an animated show, that’s how excited and happy I was for you guys. I will continue to patiently wait! D&D has brought me closer to my friends and family, I can’t thank all of you enough for playing this awesome game and inspiring others to do so, too.

I have almost caught up on campaign 3 now that i can listen to it at work 😊 im excited for the animated series my BF doesnt like the campaign format but loves the shows so its kinda like rewatvhing it through him
Yes. My boyfriend doesn't like the long campaign videos but really likes the show. I am sooooo excited for him to meet the MN, and I will finally be able to geek about it
It will be worth the wait, but waiting still sucks. I'm just happy to know it's coming. I'm especially excited for the M9!! There are so many amazing moments that I really hope to see animated.
I'm hoping I can convince my brother to watch the MN show.
I want to see the Yasha/Obann arc! It's my favorite of all campaigns, and I want to see it animated! Plus maybe we'd get more of Yasha's side of things while she was mind-controlled, which would be really interesting!
But that's probably gonna be, like, their third season, so still a while!

Vox season 3 announced for fall this year!!
I mean the changebringer kind of feels like an after thought to Sam anyway.
It is, he struggles with playing someone religious. Same with me, when I tell you how awkward it felt playing a cleric. I had to skin her as a Trickery domain and just had her unknowingly damning peoples souls to a Devil of Gluttony. It was in curse of straud and she was a pink, cheery faun with an obsession for studying humans, so ofc she knew nothing of their religions and ended up thinking a shady demon was a god. Her magic was very girly but it had a sting to it and a rotten outer layer of black at the edges that when she healed you're better but you're... not exactly happy. Like rubbing alcohol on a wound, it'll disinfect but it'll burn like a bitch. One of my friends who was our dm kept saying he really wanted to see what I did with a Paladin but I've A V O I D E D that class like the plague because I struggle with the devotion aspect to deities. (I'm getting better with it but delving into how people worship can be uncomfortable when you're not into it.)
@@TonksTheFool To be fair, paladins are not tied to gods in 5e, they get their power through the strength of their convictions. It can still be a bond with a god if you wish, but it's not necessary.
@@sumisu_senpai_6280 I've only recently been watching Dimension 20 and just been introduced to Ricky from Unsleeping City, who's whole paladin thing is safety and civic duty. This wasn't a concept I'd seen three weeks ago but thank you for pointing it out!

My only thing is, either they're not going to release the M9 animated series until *AFTER* Vox Machina ends (which hopefully won't be for at least another two seasons, 5 seasons total), or if they *do* have the shows running alongside each other, how are they going to handle the fact that M9 takes place several DECADES after Vox Machina?! I mean I know that the two campaigns can be viewed separately and there isn't a lot in M9 that ties in to Vox Machina, but if you've seen Campaign 2 then you know that *there are definitely some key things from Vox Machina's era that show up/get mentioned*. So I'm just wondering how they're going to handle that???
When they announced might nein they said the shows would air concurrently.
Anyhting that would minimally spoil vox machina won't happen until MUCH later. The first season is probably only going to cover the first 2 arcs and end with the Lorenzo stuff. When we get to things that could possibly spoil it. Like Allura's presence, or Villya, vox machina will probably have ended.
@@adoragrayskull I mean you can probably avoid it, but vox machina had a huge impact on the world. So you'll have to be sure to specifically not mention it. Which could feel forced if you are not careful. So it's not as easy as you make it out. But I'm sure they'll figure it out.
@@4203105 but also not as hard. There's a reason people get into critical role by watching C2 first.
Like, vox machina had a huge impact in the world sure, but they are mostly tal'dorei famous. M9 start as nobodies in wildemount decades after, there is no reason for vox machina to come up at all. If it was during the same time, then maybe. But i really don't see why in the tv show vox machina would be more relevant to the mighty nein than they were in the campaign: meaning they really weren't relevant. The traveler is porbably the only thing that links the two campaigns and even then we only found out abt Artagan wayyy later into c2. I can see literallly no reason for VM to be hinted at or mentioned during the first seasons. And even so, directly, only Allura, Kima and Villya.
@@adoragrayskull Sure, but we still hear mentions and echoes of the events in the M9. It's just not really a problem if you start with campaign 2, since there is just soooo much content. By the time you are through and might consider going back to campaign 1, you'll have forgotten all about it anyway.
That's different in TV shows that run concurrently. Like I said, I trust that they can do it, but it's not something that doesn't need any consideration.

I find it amazing they're able to produce the amount of content OUTSIDE of the animation that they do every week. Books, games, multiple ongoing shows and storylines, managing a company and a bunch of employees, and oh yes, producing three television shows at once that are animated, all at the same time. Slow down before you guys have heart attacks, is all I am saying.

So how far is Vox Machina gonna go? They’re gonna do the full campaign, right?
Depends on how well S3 does and how fast the world ends.
They could potentially fit the end of the campaign in one more season after the Conclave is done. However it would probably feel quite rushed and there's the question of them adapting the "bonus" epilogue episodes which were important for tying up loose ends, so could be 4 or 5 seasons total
i would rather have a great show that i had to wait for than a rushed show that sucks! if the first 2 seasons are any indication, this will definitely be worth the wait!

Oo I would hope Vox Machina wraps up before Meighty Nein season 1 drops, could be a bit spoilery considering it takes place 10 years later
The Nein are on a different continent, theres pretty much no crossover until very late in the campaign. At a vauge estimate there wouldnt be anything spoilery until like season 4 (Angel of Irons arc) with the appearance of the first major C1 character (at Yussas tower)

It’s probably more to do with the writers strike and that the VA for Thordak died.

@@1337Pope I don't think the strike affected this show all that much. But honestly, doing 12 episodes of Vox Machina and 12 episodes of Mighty Nein... that's like doing 2 seasons for the timeline of one!
I do think they plan to release both Vox Machina season 3 and Mighty Nein season 1 one after the other, it does seem like it anyway! So 24 episodes of Critical Role will be worth the wait! :)

If Sam is going to troll on release dates, then do it write. Dress up as George RR Martin down tot he pipe, glasses and gray hair and do the troll right in character of the Martin who will never finish his books.
So to anyone who knows, why is it called Mighty _Nein_ instead of Nine?
Theres a few layers to the name; one of the characters is "Zemnian", a culture of the world that ended up being vaguely German.
"Hey there new guy, you know good words that like sound cool in Zemnian?"
It became a little joke at the table that someone might exclaim Nein! when the dice rolled a dissapointing nine in the game, as it was low enough to usually mean failure. But then in only the fifth episode everyone was rolling 9s over and over again. Nein nein nein! So the name doubles as reference of course to group names like the Magnificent Seven, and then the joke of "Big No"
Theyre Mighty but no theyre no good at many things, no they dont want to deal with that monster, no they dont want to be heros of the kingdom.
The voice of someone who wants to make jokes and refrences but has to restrain himself to avoid dropping spoilers all over the place

@@dm_dude I never noticed it before. that is just *very* Gmail. I bet they wish somebody would have pointed it out beforehand. It wouldn't even be a problem if there wasn't the border around it.
I'm usually not one for coloured tattoos but I think here it would have been a good use case. Just make it an M, with the V inside the M being a different colour. Don't even have to be stark colours, you could combine grey and black.
this is hardly an update. the show's been "in the works" since atutmn and having watched this short i don't know anything i hadn't known before
