I'm not a scholar or anything, but from what I've heard, it was more popular in the past. These days if you want the name pronounced Mariah, it's common to add the H.
I think it’s maybe because Maria (as the video pronounces) is Spanish or how Hispanic people say it and ‘“Maria”/“Mariah” is how the English or “White” people say it🤷🏻♀️
