Great video Trond. What amazes me is that it is such an insignificant subject until you get into that macro world and see all the tiny details that can produce an amazing image. Cheers Keith
Meanwhile in Arizona, "it's getting pretty hot, soon I'll have to put away the macro lens." Lovely stuff. Imagine what butterflies Trond could capture in the full cammo outfit.
Very much into macro photography Trond, and this species is my all-time favorite of our u.k. butterflies ( know over here as Green Hairstreak ) would love to see more of these short videos on macro subjects over the summer season. As always beautifully produced work and great images from the session. 👍
Watched half of this and thought to myself "I better get out and do some macro" so thank you Trond for inspiring me to do so, lovely shots and another brilliant video
We call them Green Hairstreak here in the UK. My favorite Butterfly after the Brown Hairstreaks which are bright orange underwing. Great images. I love images that include some flowers or plants rather than true macro
Hello Trond, great video and photographs as usual but the main thing that comes to the fore once more is your passion for photography. Thanks for sharing and continue to stay safe 😷
Great video Trond. Just to add to what you have shown, it’s possible to use a small LED light with a warming gel. I have found that if I put my camera on a tripod then I can hand hold the LED light at different angles to get a variety of looks on the same images. Also, I have found the ‘Wimberley Plamp’ a great help. For example you could put one end of the plamp on the leg of your tripod and have the piece of bracken you were handholding at the other. It’s so flexible and lightweight.
Did the butterfly signed the model release? Lol That tube light was priceless to get the image on location. Great application too. I love this kind of videos. Thank you for sharing. Subd.
First off, nice photos. At 5:25, check out the angle of the Z9 sensor (plane of focus). If you had used the battery grip, I feel that the sensor would have been square to the butterfly. I do Mushrooms so I know the challenges, it was the first thing I noticed. You were there and I wasn't, I'm commenting on what it looks like.
Hi Trond short & sweet for this one but nice little video. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.
Отличное макро:)... Я люблю снимать бабочек рано утром, когда они ещё спят и все в росе :)... но, это надо дождаться лета :)
Nice pictures of this interesting butterfly
Hello Trond, beautiful images as always. Thanks for sharing. Greetings. Bye
The world is full of small miracles! Best regards, Padi
Congratulations on your national day. Great parade after 3 year of pandemic.
Beautiful!
I think everyone will be inspired to go out with their macro lens after watching this.

I've never seen a bobolet like that. Very beautiful. Didn't the yellow light attract the butterfly to it? Congratulations on the video!
everything is cool only to shoot not with your hands but with a tripod?
Hi Trond - thanks for this great video . Which of these Nanlights do you use here in this video ? I´Thanks for letting me know
Thank you so much Chris! I use the Nanlite Pavotube II 6C :)
Que led utilizas para la macro fotografía?
Búscalo con el nombre Nanlite vídeo light pavotube 6c, hay varios diseños
Hi, Trond @ .20 what is the name of this track ? thanks
why don't you use vertical grip to keep steady and get more balance?
I was just about to add a similar comment. I haven't used a camera with a vertical grip like the Z9's so I would probably forget to use it also.
Well done Trond! What macro lens are you using?
Thank you so much. I am using the nikon 105mm 2.8.
Sorry..in Barbados..those butterflies fly away instantly.......
