I was there for a year. Bloody disgusting place!!- TRUTHFULLY SPEAKING!! I agree with the few people below, that its all in front of the camera! The reality is far different. Food, hygiene and sanitation conditions are appalling, especially the toilets!! Teachers were abusive and violent not mentioning the intimidating prefects. Shame some people don't want to admit the truth and some do not know what the reality of things are when they send their children and part with their money. When you say Sherwood- you should say SHAWSHANK or Concentration camp. Just another corrupt institution where people abuse the power they are bestowed with!

These 2 swimming pools were constructed in front of me in 1956, and that were I learnt to swim. some of our students swam the length of the Lake . Do they still do that now? The whole school came down to watch Mugal e Azam in Capital Cinema.

I was 3 years in the Horesman wing, and my last year in the Dixon wing. Myers was the American who swam across the lake. I very well remember Amitab.Bachon. we called him Bachan. While in Dixon wing. I lived for one year in Dwakridge. This is now the hostel for Serwood girls out side the main gate.

i went to sherwood college in the mid fifties we lived in calcutta caught the train at howrah station to naini tal wonderful memories a beautiful hill station and the education i had there gave me strength of character that has lasted.

I'll share my experience. First you must have watched the Capt Ali v Sidhu boxing match. In which Sidhu outclassed Ali. Then he got the Captaincy of the collage. In 1960 I was in the Dixon wing class 6. A Sikh boy 2 years older than me was bent on bullying me. Almost through out the year I received punches, pushes kicks and twists + abuses. Mostly in the dinning hall. I went down town and bought a steel ring with a red Indian face on it. I wore the ring and prepared for whatever was to happen. He pushed, I pushed back and eye bowled him. So he waited outside the church. As I approached him, he was ready to blast me. I punched his face making sure the ring hits. The sound was enormous. Every one was stunded. This bully was dazzled full of tears. No more bully. After many years I learnt it was not the ring that struck him. It was my 2' knuckles.
