Well, now that just isn't fair.
I've got to eat like 20 apples to get to full health, while a bokoblin has only gotta eat one?
You also get Champions Abilities, cooking, armor, extra hearts, extra stamina, and you don't have to break or drop your current weapon to swap it out for a better one.

I think I'd prefer if there was a range for how much a certain food item heals a monster, instead of all of it's health in one bite. Not as many differences as with Link, but some difference would be nice.
Its honestly super cool that these kinds of things are still being found even so long after release. It makes me wonder what else people haven't foune yet.
Hopefully we can find those things! I love making videos about obscure mechanics when I can get my hands on them.

I've experimented with this before, but I didn't actually think I was right in thinking that no matter which monster ate what, it completely healed them. Anyway, the Zelda Dungeon Wiki has been updated with that information :)

@@TheBreadPirate Though I just watched one of you other videos, th-cam.com/video/rPEe9tyBSuE/w-d-xo.html , timestamp 2:03, and I noticed that the bokoblin didn't heal at that time. I'm fairly confident though that the restriction is that they can't be in their hostile state, or else they won't gain any health back.

That would explain the Yiga Clan members not eating Bananas as well! They're too distracted fighting.

The AI in breath of the wild was so cool, being able to look at a bokoblin group dancing around a campfire was so cool haha!
And their so cute too! They have a lot of personality.

Also, you should test if this applies to Moldugas, if they eat food or other enemies. Someone else in the comments said they saw a Molduga eat a Bokoblin and it healed, which would be cool to see!

Moldugas don't eat. If you lure one underneath another enemy, they just get knocked around, not swallowed.
The moblin munched monstrously on my meat and mended his muscle.

The first and only time my horse died, it was the worst experience ever due to the sound it makes.
I also simultaneously learned that it’s very hard to outrun guardians, even at top speed they’re annoyingly fast.

oh man, i love obscure stuff like this. enemy AI continues to surprise me! i did the Into the Vortex shrine quest earlier today, when i put my orb down to fight a moblin, he picked it up AND THREW IT IN THE WATER!!!! ah, the creative ways this game thwarts us, i love it
It would be neat if we could poison food and arrows to either damage enemies or make them do weird things in BOTW 2.

heres another which i learned recently if you attack an enemy even in normal mode then continue to run away and ignore them "not out of there render distance." they will eventually heal. but in normal gameplay thats a very long time but it is interesting.
also future idea which i have done before and i thought was cool, shield bash a explosive barrel.

I have never wasted a single apple I've fed to any horse. It's the next best thing to petting the doggos.

i started playing botw when i came out. and you figured this out in 2020. and i figured it out even earlyer so i must have the credit to finding this out. in fact... annoying bokoblin already found this out. but maybe you were just curious.

the Yiga actually fail on Two counts: not only the "less-than-100% health = Always In Combat" rule mentioned in the video, but also because the Yiga dont 'eat' bananas (or whatever you drop on the ground to distract them with)-- they Swipe them...they can also apparently take more than just food (like weapons or items, including the Master Sword itself, if you lure one alllll the way to the forest), but they dont Equip the things they take, so i would assume that they dont Eat food items either, so itll never be known if it would heal them or not anyway...

I found this out while doing beginning trials , it’s interesting that food heals them to 100%
When you give a horse a swift carrot, the horse get's one or two extra spurs
This probably won’t work but do the Yiga Blademasters still call for backup if you use Stasis+ to freeze and then damage them? Or if you sneakstrike them? (I think the former is more likely to work.)
Sneakstiking a yiga blademaster instantly kills them
If only they had gone one step further, with a damaged enemy trying to kill a critter to heal themselves. Imagine having a Lynel down to 20% health, only for it to spot a nearby deer, charge at it and eating its meat to heal itself, though perhaps only on Master mode.
I imagine all the newbies raging after losing all their weapons only for a lynel to jump down a mountain, kill a deer then teleport back finishing them

I guess it makes sense that bananas wouldn’t heal yiga guardsmen anyways, since they don’t actually eat the bananas. They just save them for later

Encountered this naturally at some point - I think, I was using bombs to kill some bokoblins from afar and one of them rushed to some fruit from a destroyed box and got healed. Was not expecting that 🤣
Did you test with a gold/silver moblin to make sure it heals fully? Those guys have the most hit points, they're the best option to see if it's really full or just 200 or something

I had used the bananas during the Yiga hideout. But I had assumed it was something only for them during that quest

This was an interesting test I once tried but I was underprepared and never came back to it in the future and I can't believe I've take such a long break from this channel (also lizalfos count as carnivores and insectivores since they will also eat bugs if offered to them)

Fish eaters are called piscivores.
Honestly, I knew about this since near release, but I thought it was a known mechanic. Regardless, great video and I am very surprised this was so unknown. Hope the exams went well.

I never realized wearing the champions tunic made you able to see the exact health amount for monsters
Actually you can save before your horse kicks the bucket and then you can return to your save and then go back you have your horse again!

Feed the monsters dubious food, most likely made of the body parts of there friends. Link is slowly becoming the bad guy if he does that lol. Nice video here Pirate

I hate to break this too you, but you can't drop dubious food. In fact, no cooked foods are droppable (even though they should be)! It's a crying shame. Imagine feeding a boko a speed x3 cake!

I was playing one time and I was at the Hateno tower and there was a moblin and I jumped off my horse and the moblin attack my horse therefore cause it it to ride off onto the side of the cliff. And when I killed the moblin my horse was literally on the side of the mountain standing there and it was a straight cliff. I had to shoot a bomb arrow at my horse to get it off the cliff. I felt so bad for doing it.

I've seen many videos about Online Zelda BOTW, so imagine sabotaging your friends (or even strangers if the mods allow it) by feeding some drumstick to a Lynel and healing it back to full HP, just before it dies.
