    I have 2 Souvereign detectors at the moment, and It is very easy. If you get a good tone both ways dig it. Doesn't matter if the tone is high or low. Copper, Foil, Stainless Steel, Brass and smaller gold rings give a lowe tone. Remember this detector takes 100 hours to get used to. Don't stop using this detector because it is really great on the beach.

    thank you, loved your video! i have five detectors, and by far the GT is my favorite, however, I usually use the others to get the easy stuff out of they and then near the end I pull out the gt and get the goodies I missed! I also have the Digital display as a backup..... I really enjoy this hobby!

    Just got GT going today. I finally just understand the notch. It's a set width of discrim that can be moved up and down the scale independent of discrim knob. Great video by the way!

    this detector will change your detecting experience forever! i have one and never fail to find with it on the beach, its simple to understand and after you learn a bit more you wont go back. dig everything that sounds off like a fraight train because you will be sorry, null out ringpulls, null out rings! what i tend to do is hunt in discriminate, then use in pinpoint allmetal around that area until cleaned out, reverse discriminate with the switch. its a brill detector and deep on the beach

    Interesting stuff, I'm thinking of buying another detector this week, its between three, Garrett AT Pro, Minelab 705, or Minelab Sovereign, and as I won't have the money again for a long time I don't want to buy the wrong one, thanks for the video and will be looking forward to any more tests you do. When I had the Sovereign GT I also had the Digital Target Identification meter. Made it a lot more easy to identify targets. Notching isn't the best solution to get rid of the tabs, as one could be the gold ring. Anyway, good luck in your hunts.

    This detector has very advanced microprocessor and technology!!! I know this because I managed to test 7 different detector brands and the Sovereign GT it's a WINNER !!! Due to the users's trust in other brands I'm not going to share the names of the other test subjects!!!

    Thinking of adding GT to the stable. I've had a Sand Shark for few months, but found I've rarely been able to go over knee deep in surf. Tired of digging screw caps at 20". Think this may be my favorite if I had it.

    This detector is definatley one i will keep, fantastic bit of kit, shame the iron nulling is not used defined, but i can live with that :) GL & HH

    Congratulations nice video demonstration once you understand the ETTING, especially in salt water from large soddisfazioni.E for some years that I possess the sovereign gt metal detector in my opinion fabulous. But later on I'm going to buy un'excalibur, because I like to research at sea.

    your so right. i traded 705 for another Elite. Will trade Explorer XS for a GT !!

  • @onlygazza
    @onlygazza 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I also hip mount the gt ,but if its set close to your side its a doddle to get to the switch.
    do a few experiments in pinpoint when you find a signal, dig it then go over the surounding area in discrim, do the same area in pinpoint all metal and you will pick up loads more coins.

    peter i agree with the press down lungs on the battery i have just broke mine off
    its much more easy to remove the power pack for charging :)

    @TheBeachBadger  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi i have a 705 also, depends on were you want to detect, the Sovereign GT is BBS thats why i wanted it to work the wet beach, the only downside to it i can see is, all my other detectors i run in all metal mode and discrim by the tones i hear, in all metal mode on the GT the tones are all the same, the 705 is a fantastic detector (get the 7.5khz version to start, i also have 18.75khz coil), not the best for wet sand but it is usable by turning down sensitivity.

  • @23950522
    @23950522 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Foil is a distinctive sound obviously Iron is spitty , notch out pull rings and you will loose gold rings your in a inside location with lots of EMR and your sensitivity is not representative of being out side , crown tops will give you a signal one way and not the other, leave the notch at with the discrim fully anti clock wise,pause after iron signals as the machine take a while to reset after large iron ..Meters are just Extra weight ..

  • @23950522
    @23950522 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Be aware to much strain on the on the coil plug in to the control box is problematic with this machine leave plenty of slack cable if you hip mount ..
    When taking out battery pack or putting it back after charging , be gentle with the press down lugs they crack the older the machine the more prone they are to do it ,,design faults ,, eight inch coil well worth having especially on pasture and stubble , the GT is like all Sovereigns best beach machines out there..

  • @flatheadfletch
    @flatheadfletch 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    i use two machines, The GMT gives gunts on all iron. (no Dig) My fisher gold strike can notch out all ferrous metals and hit hard on non ferrous. i dig all non ferrous !!

    Hello mate I have had the gt a super detector for the beech and land if it helps and you can afford one get yourself a dti meter this will help a lot as well because you have a digital meter reading you can pick them up on eBay for around £50 or £60. Hope this helps.

    Hello. Just subbed you for a few reasons. Main one being, you're prepared to demonstrate the machine. I've just bought the sovereign gt in beautiful condition but I'm frustrated with the controls at present. If you have the time (and still have the machine) could you possibly show me the front of your machine in beach mode or readiness. I would appreciate it. Regards Chris.

    I've had a GT for about 5 months now, I too, can't hear a lot of difference (in good targets). Seems to me it's either diggable or not diggable, and I guess that's all you need. Have to say,I haven't played around with the notch tho. And regarding reverse disc, I don't do this, as I hip mount, so I set and forget. HH

  • @23950522
    @23950522 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Any circular or ring shape will give you a give a good signal it's not to do with the conductivity of the item.its the way a ring reacts in side a magnetic field , gold is not a good conductor .
    You would dig as much with a machine which has a VDI screen as you would with Sovereign , my mate runs his Deus on the beach and by the time he,s looked a the screen to decide , I've dug my target and moved to the next...

  • @flatheadfletch
    @flatheadfletch 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    i have a question. The tones do sound differnt, yes impressive. BUT these same items at different depths are going to make differrent tones intirely. So, i dont understand. how is this benificial ???

    • @TheBeachBadger
      @TheBeachBadger  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ron Fletcher large iron at depth can fool any detector, and i have to disagree with you the Sov GT is very good the same item tones at different depths, it all comes down to the old question to dig everything or not :) good luck

    Just got mine too! Help please! I wonder if there is an after market vdi that can be fitted so we can have numbers correlating to the target?

    • @TheBeachBadger
      @TheBeachBadger  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      to be honest i wouldn't bother, yes there is on available sure you can find one on the net, but if you take the time to learn the tones they tell you everything, i wished all detectors had the Sovereign tones they are the best by miles in my opinion :)

  • @TheBeachBadger
    @TheBeachBadger  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The At Pro really does not impress me, a friend had one and to be honest the only thing it can do the other two can't is be sumerged, sure some will disagree :).....good luck with you choice

    hi, wonder what the gt is like with hot rocks /coke?? I have a vista smart which I am upgrading.Someone said the gt was good in heavy mineralised soils? any chance of any info on the gt with lots of coke/hot rocks?

    • @Detectorman52
      @Detectorman52 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got the gt, 9 years old now, its does have a very smooth ground balance on high mineral white sand and wet salt sand at the beaches,, which i find is very good for beach hunting even in the low tide beach hunting, its very good at not picking up the small rocks when i use it in the all metal setings. I think there might be something wrong with my gt. it doesn`t seem to make a very loud noise on coins that are close to the ground like it use too . it use to be very loud on the ground 4 years ago . Maybe its because i was useing rechargeable aa batterys that made the battery powered lower to 9.6 volts it did say in the manual not to use double aa rechargeable batterys,, i think it damaged my detector for not detecting coins on the ground very loud,, but i could be wrong about that.
