I do like how Neuvillette explained his position as the dragon, he’s basically the pseudo-archon.

I feel like Neuvillette is the same case, he doesnt really unserstand or know much of its origina and what it imply, he doesnt see himself as someone who belong to fontaine(sqid by himself) not that he lacks empzthy toward people but he lacks some kind of anchor to justify him guiding and taking care of the people of Fontaine
I assume that's why the hydro archon made him Iudex so that he could get close to people and see the good in humanity as he'll apparently be judging everyone as some point

The Knave hints that Furina might be under some curse. If so, then Furina might actually just be a shell of her former self. Probably meaning we’ll have to break the curse. Furina’s split personality during the 4.0 trials also supports her having multiple personas.

I think furina is both hiding something and is scared, she hides because she is scared in the same way she hid that arlecchino tried to steal the gnosis from her. My personal theory is that the original hydro archons spirit is contained in the oratrice and the gnosis is missing because it's used to power it. That or it's the split personality thing, either would explain the implication that the furina we see both is and isn't the archon
The real question is Why Neuvillete is so protective of Furina? Does he care for her? Or maybe it's that if she disappears her curse will be passed down to him. All the other dragons except Dvalin have strained relationships with the archons.

Probably because she is the one who unsealed him. He maybe feels indebted to her and as such working with her and has formed a positive relationship with her despite being an Archon

@@xXWishLeeXx I've heard that rather than the archons, the Traveler's elemental skill actually matches the Sovereign dragons. We can't 100% confirm this but I think this makes more sense to me from what we've seen of the archons so far.
Well now that we know the gnoses contain the Sovereigns power, we know Traveler mimcs the Sovereigns not the archons themselves.

Well the truth is that the gnosis contains dragon magic, if the magic is retrieved to the soverin then it’s dragonhood is restored. This also means that the dragon power is tied to the elements.
Seeing how the traveller now is a cheap neuvillete i believe that the traveller’s powers are connected to each gnosis rather then the archons, this explains why traveller and shogun are different in their kit

I actually watched a theory vid about this before 4.1 dropped and I was just amazed that they managed to predict that the sovereigns power is in the gnosis and that the traveller actually mimics the sovereigns aka the gnosis, and so the archons also sort of imitate the powers of the sovereigns due to their use of the gnosis, the only exception being Raiden since she never fully held the gnosis inside her like the other archons did
Indeed, it also somewhat explains why the abyss sibling can use abyssal powers. Think about it…. If the traveller can connect with the elements of the soverins, couldnt they also connect with the other elements of the world like the abyss? Another thing to point out is that perhaps the traveller, at the end of their journey, will reclaim their original power that got stolen from them (speculation from Neuvillete’s ascension)
Yeah, I think it was stated long ago that the dragons are one if not the purest form of elemental energy even more than the slimes. While archons just get access to that power when they get to be called archons.
when you fully ascend Neu, he says he's reached full dragonhood and has reclaimed the powers the usurpers stole. no gnosis necessary. keep that in mind before stating that as "the truth"

I believe that I can settle this theory with a full thorough answer:
Furina is NOT the Hydro Archon, but she also IS the Hydro Archon. To explain, recall the voice we've discovered in the Fountain that sounds suspiciously like Furina, as well as the fact that Fontaine as a Nation plays on Duality. As much as people speculate, there's absolutely zero way of faking a Statue of the Seven. Furina is not the Archon, but Focolors is, I believe she's been split in 2 and that the next upcoming acts will be Furina and her powers "Focolors" reuniting to become whole once again, for reference Furina and Focalors may be parallel to Seele and Veliona

I wouldnt be surprised if Furina gave the Gnosis to Neuvillette after finding out where the power within it came from. She's show to be naive at heart but also she does care about doing whats best for her people, often going out her way to distract them to keep them happy.
As the god of justice, do you think she would honestly want a gnosis if it was someone's else power stolen and gifted to the Archons? The reason she is so powerless might be because as a newer archon she hasn't adjusted to using her element without her gnosis like the others and hence looks to Neuvillette for support. I just think it would be neat.
That’s actually a really good theory, but the last bit is actually wrong since Nahida was trapped her whole life and she literally never got to use or even see her gnosis once until she was finally freed, and she didn’t even get to do much with it because she traded it away for important knowledge, and yet nahidas powers are still very effective with or without a gnosis (and I’m pretty sure nahida’s younger then foçalors? Not sure though, we’ll probably know in 4.2)

I understand Nahida was imprisoned but Rukkhadevata wasn't, when Rukkhadevata was erased her memories become one with Nahida's meaning the past knowledge of the gnosis became hers, we can safely assume the gnosis was used in the past by Rukkhadevata to first set up the Akasha Terminal before it was developed further by the akademiya. At the least we can confirm that. Unless my memory is wrong.

@@mewtoui dont agree with neuvillette becoming an archon and all that but if it did happen, its different than zhongli's case. Zhongli does not have a successor & thats the only reason why we know hes still the archon. For the people of teyvat, hes dead & liyue is archonless. But in Fontaine's case, there'd be a whole new archon & Furina would be like Egeria, just a previous one.
However, as I mentioned, I dont think that'll happen, i think Furina will stay the archon whether its a different version of her or not.

I've just had a realization. What if the tsaritsa wants to bring all of the elemental dragons to full power? It'd be the perfect way to rebel against celestia, especially since the dragons are regarded as celestia's enemies. By stealing all of the gnoses, she could very well bring all of the dragons to full power and ask for their aid in overthrowing celestia.

As a lore player myself: Neuvillette is definitely not the true archon, as many people said. It’s 100% confirmed from the way he expressed his thoughts throughout the time we knew him.
😄 For me, here’s a theory why Furina is the archon. Aside from the fact that the Hydro statue basically confirms it’s Furina/or Egeria.

Arlechinno said one intriguing question during the tea party: “The Oratrice. If Im not mistaken, someone is using it to prepare for something. But unfortunately, it’d seem that someone is not you, Miss Furina.”
This is basically highly indicating it’s Egeria who set this Oratrice up.
Let’s look at Egeria’s power: From the world quests, Egeria has high purity hydro power that could nourish the births of Pari. From the books, her tears could also create oceanids. The first oceanid ever created was the first director of Narzissenkreuz institute. And like we all know, oceanids can SPLIT their powers into water mimics or mimic a human form (like Idyia).
Similarly: Perhaps Egeria extracted some of her soul or powers to create Focalors but with limitations.
Maybe before she died becoming the Amrita, Egeria shared her prophecy & thus was planning for “something”(unknown) to protect future Fontaine. So, the voice inside oratrice might be one part of Egeria’s soul, and indirectly is Furina’s true powers.
So yes, Furina is the archon, but restricted.
Why Egeria restricted Furina?
*Remember, every original archons made plans before their death.
1. Makoto borrowed Istaroth powers and put her consciousness into the sword to guide Ei in planting the Sakura tree seed for Inazuma.
2. Rukhadevata created Akasha to compile all dreams and created Nahida from the irminsul branch.
Both archons orchestrated future plans for their successors and did this all for the sake of preventing the cataclysm or problems in the future.
*Another potential explanation why Furina is indeed the true Hydro Archon is that:
Focalors herself splits her soul into the Oratrice as soon as she was born, as a means of precaution for something. And the rebound effect was, to deceive herself, a part of her lost her memories creating the Furina we see today. So the voice inside oratrice might be Furina’s other soul.
(Hint: Furina drip marketing mentioned about “One lie follows another. But if they trace back to the source, they inevitably realize that they began by deceiving themselves.”)
Unrelated but Another question remains unanswered tho.
What’s the REAL purpose of Indemnitium (energy collected by Oratrice) then? Maybe something related to reversing the prophecy when Egeria’s successor finally completes her mission and then Furina could able to regain her true powers again.

Furina is more interesing as an Archon than him, she is just like Venti but more "arrogant" and acts like a brat, but I like her this way more than she being just serious and collected all the time.
Yes and it also brings space to character development, we helped Ei stop being traumatized and become a better ruler, with Nahida we reformed a literal Harbinger, Childe is a work in process, Fischl became more crazy. Why do people don't see that with Focalors when we haven't even spent a proper quedt time with her.
Theres a secret somewhere regarding why neuvillette loves focalors so much. My original theory is that they pulling another, homegirl is the same person only shrunk like nahida/rukkhadevata… but surely hoyo can get more creative then having both nations archons back to back having similar afflictions…
So another favorite theory of mine people had was that furina is split into three, shes a third of herself and maybe her other selfs knew neuvillete, possibly was the previous hydro archon

If they contain somewhat power of the dragons then they might have enough power to defeat celestia, and since neuvillette doesn’t have his full poweres yet doesn’t that mean that the hydro archon in still here?? Whether it be furina being the real archon or another archon we have yet to see.

Neuvillette isn't the archon neither is Furina... the way she constantly states that she's a God... shows that she's actually telling that to herself... you can read what *N* said about Furina in drip marketing of 4.2... "...it all starts from deceiving yourself" or something.. meaning Furina isn't a God.. but probably a substitute of sorts ..
My theory is that she's something akin to Hydro Eidolon... or an extremely complicated Hydro Mimic.. like that from the quest of Marry-Ann!
Remember what Arlecchino said about Furina? That she doesn't feels like a "God" and she actually senses as a being "Cursed" by something... perhaps she was born from the remaining waters or "Tainted" drops from Egeria's remnants.. I mean it's possible!
Or! Forcalors is missing from Fontaine, and this "Furina" is her substitute...?

If Focalors is the archon and Furina a stand in, then Neuvillette would have his full dragonhood.
The only way he can have his full power returned is if the Hydro Archon disappears. Well. He's not a full dragon so the Hydro Archon isn't missing from Fontaine.
@@GLoLChibs although they say that the archon needs to "Disappear" I think it actually means that, the archon needs to give their gnosis to its original owner.. and relinquish their "status" as it's ruler.. it won't make any sense if the archon just goes poof..
But then again... we see that, none of the new "Archons" ever keep their gnosis within them like the originals did.. Ei gave it to Miko, Nahida's was already taken by the Sages and now Furina's is nowhere in sight...sometimes I wonder what If Venti gave back some portion of the Gnosis's true power back to Dvalin.. remember he says "is this power of the anemo Archon?" He doesn't say "Power of the anemo God" or even "God of Freedom" he goes on to say "archon" which means it's coming from the gnosis... perhaps Dvalin already received some of his true powers back ..? I think furina is pretending to be a “worthless archon” so she can get the upper hand on this whole situation. Everyone underestimate her so when she finally pulls off her “mask” and show her real self at the perfect moment it will be the finale of a life time.
I feel like the hydo archon and the hydo dragon made a pact to share eachother power, it would explain why they look very much like one another.
Furina's hair glows always that means she always try to hold ground level of water in fountaine and If she figths with someone then she can't hold it so she refuses. Fun fact when we free Dvalin and fly on his back Venti infuses some power into him with Dvalin stating " Is this the power of the anemo archon". If the knosis do have the dragons power in them, there's a possibility venti returned that power to Dvalin and his knosis was empty, meaning he basically gave singnora an empty shell.
My personal head canon, Neuvillette as a temporary stand-in or a vessel for the Hydro Gnosis after the previous Hyrdro Archon and before Furina. Maybe he retired early after Furina was born and "matured".

While he’s not the archon, he’s technically supposed to be the one in power. It makes sense too because he genuinely embodies the concept of “justice” as a whole. If you really think about the other dragons and their behaviors, they represent what the Archons represent more.
Dvalin *freely* flies the skies and even isn’t afraid of extending an olive branch and going against the norms of other dragons. He even chooses to be friends with Venti because at the end of the day, everyone needs a friend to lift each other up!
Azadaha made a *contract* with the Geo Archon to be his companion as he rules alongside him regardless of his stance. They had similar values after all and even after erosion, he held onto the belief of his own unshakable rule.
RIP Electro Dragon. You might have your own reincarnation with your own *eternal* beliefs.
Nahida has wisdom from the tree, but the dragon is *wise* even without it. She’s what a true being of wisdom is: Spitting facts without candy coating a thing and a true voice of the concept of unabridged wisdom, though wise enough to put aside her hatred in favor of a beneficial truce.
Finally, Neuvillette. His *justice* is never swayed by his personal opinions and he always is in favor of the law. His goal is to judge Celestia fairly with his impartiality despite what they’ve done.
The Pyro Archon is known as the god of war, so that dragon might be damn terrifying.
Cryo Archon is known as the god of love in some circles... So maybe that dragon is more gentle than we think.
i think neuvillette adopted furina after previous died and furina got the gnosis and felt pity on her and now oversees the region in her stead

Furina concept was based on Biblical Trilogy ( Father, Son, and Spirit ).
Father = Egeria
Son = Furina
Spirit = Furina soul on the Oratrice's Machine

As someone who has done the 4.2 archon quest, i can say that he is now
Canonically, he is still not the archon.
Throne is destroyed and Neuvillette is the hydro sovereign. The element hydro no longer has an archon but the original race bearer of the element hydro still exist.
Due to the throne being destroyed and the power given back, there will no longer be an archon successor.

Theres a contradiction in your statement you mentioned that it is highly unlikely for celestia to appoint one of their potential enemies as an archon however might i remind you that Zhongly the Geo dragon Sovereign is already recognized as an Archon

Neuvillette is possibly the archon Don’t forget Rex lapis , Morax aka Zhongli is a dragon himself he faked his death in the beginning of Liyue
Neuvillette is not the Archon, and Zhongli is most likely not a Dragon Sovereign. Zhongli is an adeptus, so he can change his form freely into his exuvia.
Itt wouldn't make sense for Celestia to give him a gnosis if they made the gnosis from his elemental power anyway
Maybe it's some kind if weird succession error. Like Furina is supposed to be the new Hydro Archon but something went wrong, Furina has to do something, or something has to happen before her half of the Hydro Sovereign powers kick in.🤔🤔🤔🤔

Whats still open is: Why is Furina so Defensless? What killed the previous Archon, what made her the new one?
Why does she has no acess to the Gnosis?
Where does she come from? All new Archons are either related or kinda the same (Ei and Nahida, twin and branch).
Why is Neuvilette helping her to that extend?
I would like to know if that makes Furina a human if she is no longer an archon or she still remains a goddess ? After all she is 500 years old !

Thinking about it, none of the previous archons we’ve encountered have really ‘disappeared’ in that sense. Venti and Zhongli have been there from the start; as twin archons, only Makoto died but Ei lived on; and in Nahida’s case, the Greater Lord either exhausted her power (but stayed alive) or reincarnated into a new life as an archon. Egeria might be the only archon so far who has actually ‘disappeared’. And we have yet to find out how Furina was even chosen as the new hydro archon since we have yet to acknowledge what an actual ‘changing of hands’ could look like from previous archon quests.
If she perished during the Cataclysm 500 years ago, and Neuvillette became the Iudex about 100 years after that, that means he must have existed well before the Cataclysm, and the power of the gnosis was returned to him when Egeria died. There might not even be a hydro gnosis anymore. It’s probably also why Celestia is stationed so close to Fontaine.
But that’s just my lore theory (might have holes in it, idk)🧐
Edit: I recall Neuvillette stating that none of the living dragon sovereigns are at their full power, but who knows what’s what after the memory of Rukkhadevata was removed from Irminsul. We’ll just have to see how it goes 😩

I feel bad for Furina tbh. Maybe she is the hydro archon but maybe Arlechino wasn’t far off when she suggested that it was like she was under some curse.
He is more than archon
archons (possibly?) draw power from the dragons, so the traveller would seem to have a weaker version of the dragon's kit, but it also the archons (we'll see with furina) since it's the same power.
