RUNNING AN X AND H PIPE AT THE SAME TIME (How does it sound???)

The double x pipe was great but it seemed to amplify the metallic raspy "clap" I was experiencing as well as some other higher frequencies. These high frequencies seemed to pass straight through my resonator. Im not sure if it is designed to dampen those frequencies or not. Before adding another resonator or getting a muffler, I want to get rid of some of these frequencies so that the resonator can do its job better.
I also wanted to move the mid pipe as close to the engine as possible and ARH makes a x pipe that crosses over right after the trans mount. The stainless works header connection pipes traveled even further back than the stock band clamp location before crossing over. This made me wonder of this was adding to the exhaust "clap" I was experiencing. So I picked up a used ARH X pipe off FB marketplace and used my H pipe I had laying around to attach this to my axle back. The results were pretty good. Clap is almost gone but still slightly there but the rest could be fixed by another small resonator. I honestly might just replace the Corsa with something bigger instead of adding another resonator. Maybe a bigger Borla resonator.
(I know this cars firing order make it just naturally clap a bit)
Yes it is still "race car loud," and the drone makes my passengers nauseous (I don't mind drone though). Some people hear the loudness and automatically have a negative opinion, that's OK it's not for everyone. If you want a mild this setup is definitely not for you. Even if your area isn't strict with loud cars, you might get pulled over still. The "quiet car purists" are usually loudest ones in the comment section about this topic :/
It's OK EPA, the cats went on right after this video was made.😉
Full Setup
-Stainless Works Longtube Headers (2 Inch Primaries)
-ARH X Pipe
-AWE Tuning H Pipe
-Corsa Pro 10in Resonators
-Corsa Track 3 Inch Axle Back
-Longer tips (for depth)
LOUDNESS LEVEL
Interior - 8.5/10
Exterior - 9.5/10
This is different for everyone. It is deeper than the double x on the outside so it doesn't hurt your ears as much, but it still just as loud on the dB meter.
Audio wise, I used my Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra which has a tinny microphone so I lowered some of those frequencies and my Gopro mic which only records mids and not highs and lows so I had to boost those frequencies.
Probably going to remake a video of this setup once it gets warmer.
Mods
-Airaid cold air intake
-Exedy clutch
-Exedy lightweight flywheel
-Tuned by vmp
-Full Exhaust

One of the best sounding 5.0s ever
Pretty much the most perfect video to ever be posted on youtube. You have all the right speeds and angles, picture of exhaust and the full specs in the description. Well done sir!
this is actually the PERFECT exhaust setup
you did it. you made a coyote sound better than the voodoo
Sounds fantastic, hard to compete with that flat plane crank sound tho
wow now that's a sound i would keep for the next 100 years
Best sounding 5.0 I’ve heard
that sounds pretty cool actually
Finally best wondering what this would sound like for awhile now 🔥🔥🔥
That's a really cool tone, I've been thinking about adding an H pipe in addition to my X piped 5.0 Genesis and think I'll try it.
Ended up doing it today and so stoked on the tone! Glad I found your video to push me into doing it 🍻
@@MrJamescroc just watched your video on it. It sounds great
would love to see an underview shot of the car if you have it ! car sounds amazing .
So beautiful, I will have a mustang 5.0 one day. I smiled so hard when the screaming of the engine echoed like an f1 race car.
I was thinking about doing this to mine and this is the first video I've found!
Damn that’s loud. Sounds great
"How many times have you watched this?"
Me: Yes
This sounds great. Its a video on TH-cam the exhaust addict did a similar setup minus the headers. It was a h pipe followed by a x pipe into 2 resonators and a muffler delete it sounds great even had stock cats
Best sounding 5.0 out there. Dream car. At this point, I think you should try a Y-pipe just for entertainment and views. Never seen anyone do it before. Would be very interesting.
Maybe. Currently, I can easily try a triple x as well. Might be interesting.
I’m here to see it all. It’s fun to see how you can change the sound of the car completely with such small changes.
@@anotherred5.092bro the triple X your a fucking legend
Beautiful sound
Sounds awesome.
0:58 Giving the GT350R's Flat plane sound a run for it's 💸 💰 🤑
and just like that, I found the perfect sounding 5.0
It sounds similar to the rs5, another great sounding gt car.
Damn that sounds good, I need to see the setup.
Best sounding mustang ive ever heard 👊👊
Very hard to find a good sounding coyote mustang setup. Easily top 5 I've heard in years. I have headers and 200 cell hi flow cats, 3in pipes. No resonator or mufflers on my Camaro SS, It does drone a little at a certain cruising speed. I've found out if I crack the windows a touch it helps to relieve that drone sound inside. Maybe that'll help with passengers.
Sound from the Gods💪
Sucker sounds pretty damn good…
That sounds insane
sounds so dam good
Loving the clips man. As a current challenger owner now I want one even though I don’t know how to drive manual 😅
Learn how then fk it if u fk up it's worth it u will eventually learn and lov it g
What x pipe can I buy for this ? And what does it look like?
I wonder what a double H pipe with would sound like with catless long tubes, maybe a resonator of some sort
Sounds excellent 👌
Did you put the H in front or behind the X? I’m thinking of having an H put in behind my X to eliminate some rasp and am wondering if you’re still running this setup
The h is behind the x. I put a picture of the midpipe at the end of the video.
First i have to commend you for all your hard work and fantastic job putting these videos together. Its almost an art in and of itself what youve done for us. Thank you, i did have a question that maybe you could help me with. I drive a truck with duals and an h pipe. Up until about 3.5/4k rpm's it sounds very deep and gurgly which i love, but at higher rpm's the h pipe starts to act almost like just true duals, so there is a lot of clap after 4k rpm's, not as high pitched as straight duals but still clappy. In my mind, the exhaust gasses making their way past the h pipe at high rpm's are what is making it clap, because the h pipe isnt able to have an effect on them. I was thinking a second h pipe would help catch those gasses that made it past the first h pipe and lessen that effect without changing the sound profile too much, but what do you think? Do you think an x pipe would make a better combination with my h pipe? Thanks in advance
Thanks you. Means alot. And yea I know what your talking about. The h pipe definitely started getting pretty clappy up top too on this car. The larger diameter piping helped a little bit but mostly just made the clap deeper and more acceptable. The x got rid of maybe 60-70 percent of the clap, and it made it sound a lot more blended. It was still deep, but the pitch was higher. The lt headers further smoothed out the tone and reduced the clap, but only the catted ones. I've never tried a double h pipe, but it would probably help a bit too, and you would keep the deep tone. I think h pipes basically do turn into true duals under wot to some extent. Also, a lot of trucks I see have an exhaust where each bank of the engine to the exhaust tip is a slightly different length. This might cause that sound, too. But yea, give the double h a shot, and if not, then maybe add an x.
But yea as long as you don't mind higher pitch x might be slightly better
@anotherred5.092 thanks for the help man, small update, I deleted my cats but it was ridiculously loud. And at about 1.5k rpm's and up it screamed. Was unbearable just driving it around town. Added some 23" glasspacks and it significantly brought the volume down, and made it much deeper. The higher flow from no cats definitely affects the sound, actually sounds less clappy, the only time it sounds clappy are around 2k-3.5k rpm's so mostly middle rpm's, lower rpm's it sounds deep and bass, higher rpm's the "claps" are so close to each other it's really beastly and doesn't sound clapped. But in the in-between rpm's the claps are more spaced apart and it's not my favorite. I'm thinking a second h pipe might blend those middle rpm's just enough to mask them, then act like straight pipes at higher rpm's and by then at those higher rpm's the claps will be so close together again that it doesn't seem clapped. At least that's what I'm hoping will happen lol, I do have an x pipe at home lying around, my main concern is 100% getting rid of that middle clap do you think I should have the shop fab on another h pipe or weld on the x pipe I have now? Thanks for all your help you've been great, I'll probably post a video here soon after it's all said and done.
@rickymedina7563 try adding the second h. Because from true duals, the single h does help a little bit. And corsas double h kind of sounds like a deeper double x. And yea, mine had the middle rpm clap bad. Resonators and the double midpipe helped, but there's still some left. But it's to the point where the clap is part of the exhaust note and not overbearing. I also have tiny resonators, so that doesn't help.
Bruh. You did it. You got the ideal Coyote sound. Well done.
I have Corsa cat back, cat-less headers, double h pipe and tune. So I need is to add a X pipe to the double h pipe to get this sound?
Well done
Do a cold start video on it
Insane video
If it sounds that good on a video I can't imagine it in real life! Lol
holy !!! if I had this on mine in france... well i would be often arrested by cops 😅
I’m thinking of doing this on my 3.7 mustang, i love my exhaust setup it’s almost perfect but i just get that metallic clap sound at 2.2-2.6k rpm while accelerating so im thinking of doing x and h together what do u think?
It's probably going to help, but it may still be there. At least, that's how it was with the 5.0. I have some videos of my 3.7, but it's probably not the sound you are looking for. Do you have longtubes?
What’s ur opinion currently I have a resonator and muffler delete with x pipe and stock cats. I’m planning on going catless long tubes. Will it be as loud as this, I heard people saying it would sound really bad.
It was alright but a little bit unrefined. It's gonna be a lot louder than this also. I have another video of roughly how it would sound.
th-cam.com/video/CeH0B6qy2ww/w-d-xo.htmlsi=I78CP7krfXedTCwe
It's a double X, though, so it's not a direct comparison.
Sounds so good iam buying a mustang now cheers
sounds great💪
OMFG I BEEEN LOOOKING FOR THISSSS🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Sorry if i sound like a jerk bc im not. I have a 2015 with H pipe and muffler delete. It sounds exactly the same. And for me both are just too raspy. I want a deep clean tone im at a loss on how to get that with the coyote.
get borla atak mufflers, those are the best mufflers if you want no rasp
This video just changed my opinion on every single Coyote ever, god damn dude! I’d add some resonators but I don’t think that it gets any better than this if you want 130 db loud lol
Can you give more details on the drone? How bad does it drone and at what RPM? Also is it boosted?
I have the 3.73 gears, so it's around 58 to 68 mph. You can kind of stay out of it most of the time since the highway around here is 75, but you can still clearly hear it. If you like the tone, you could go with corsa extremes or awe touring axle backs and just throw the corsas on the mid pipe. It should be a very close sound and volume but with no drone, but you might just lose some depth.
@@anotherred5.092 alright great thanks so much man I'll honestly try both set ups and see how I like them. That thing sounds absolutely heavenly probably the best sounding 5.0 out there.
Reminds me of a Shelby GT350
Do you think this would still sound good with stock headers and without the 10in resonators?
Yes. The stock headers can be a bit clappy and uneven sounding up top, but there's two mid pipes to blend the sound, so it should be pretty nice. Probably like the corsa extreme catback with a little bit less rasp and more depth. Start with aFe. That should bolt right up.
@@anotherred5.092 Gotcha 👍
Do you have a picture of what the piping looks like?
I put one at the end of the video
I love it 🚀🔊
omg this is awesome
What diameter X/H Pipes?
3 inch x and 3 inch h
hell yeah
Dawm unreal engine improved!
Imagine putting the x pipe closest to the engine then 2 H pipes following
That's what I'm thinking of doing
Just 1 h pipe tho
Bros got infinite money how the hell do you afford all these different exhaust parts

@@anotherred5.092 you put these parts on yourself? Or a shop?
