Thanks for that. Useful as I'll be doing the same with my 67 Vet over the next couple of months. Was thinking about removing the gearbox first but now I see using a leveller I can leave it attached . That's great because it's a PIA to align the box lying on your back under the car.
So the old iron (actually the carb) wanted to leave you with one last, scary memory... Missed seeing/hearing you in the RMRW coverage but happy to see you here👍
yet again, another great video. This is what we were waiting for! Great format, and as always great production value. Your editing came along quick! Also, please please PLEASE tell me that @ 13:18 those are bumper guards from hellcats. 🤣
I can field that one, since it's been a year since you asked. The 396 cars had a different hood, a 'bubble' type arrangement with vents in the sides. The Stinger was for 427s, and in '67. The Stinger hood is popular for its looks although I like the small block hood better. My own '66 with a small block has a stinger hood, but it is necessary. The engine has a '69 z/28 intake, and it makes the carb sit a little higher. The stinger hood affords extra clearance. Mine also has a slight cowl-induction feature, it's open to the rear.
Great to have the countdown clock phasing the spare time!
Maybe use the time and paint the engine bay ? Great progress and had a great time watching you. Greetings from Germany
Definitely! I want to use degreaser on everything, and paint the bay to look nicer

My advice is get everything ready to pull and then do the cooling system last.
From the exhaust manifold I'm guessing that is a 327. But it has a stinger hood and that was usually reserved for a 396 or 427.

It knew that was the last time it had to start so it wanted to make you work for it.
@superclean send Fred some cleaner to get engine bay looking fresh
