Mexican Independence Day and the Fiestas Patrias are some of the most exciting days of the year in Mexico. Being able to witness El Grito en el Zócalo is an incredible honor. The excitement this year is to see AMLO do El Grito for the first time. Last year in CDMX many people told us that the Zócalo wasn’t very busy because EPN wasn’t very popular and that 2019 would be insane because of AMLOs popularity. Hace algunos ayeres, me tocó dar el grito vacacionando en Francia. En el restaurante donde cenábamos estaban unos alemanes. Se acercaron y nos preguntaron el motivo del festejo. Les dijimos que celebrábamos la independencia de México. Les compartimos de nuestro tequila. Unas copitas después, ellos gritaban más fuerte que nosotros ¡VIVA MÉXICO!! Fue una experiencia inolvidable. ¡VIVA MÉXICO!!

Something really cool this year that we didn't even mention was that they had a band/musical group from every state in Mexico. It was really cool and I thought that added a nice touch to the event! Though I will say by 10:30 nobody wanted to here Tlaxcala and Guanajuato 😂 We were ready for the show!

Thank you, it is nice to see that not everybody thinks that Mexico is a scary place. I lived in Mexico city back in the early 80's, I did get mugged by 4 guys who claimed to be officers of the law, but that happened only once. It was a different time, the guy who was the A.G. of Mexico was a bad guy using cops as construction workers who would have to carry heavy stones on their backs. The guy who is President now, got the election stolen from under his nose 12 years ago and I can see he finally made it. He is the equivalent to Bernie Sanders in that he is a Democratic Socialist, as someone said to me a while back, give the man a chance, since the ruling Party has done nothing for this (Mexico) Country but left it in ruins.

Beautiful!!!!!! This year looks so much more emotive than previous years!! The pride was at 1000% the atmosphere looked incredible, I saw part of the military parade festivities and the moments before the President goes on the balcony for El Grito, and even the respect/pride from part of the armed forces and those who hand him the flag looked and felt at a more respectful and proud level than previous years. So happy for Mexico and how proud they are rn, and how much they're working to better the Country, the US could learn a thing or two! Loved this video you guys!!

It commemorates the anniversary of the start of our war of Independence from Spain, here in the United States we hardly ever hear it mentioned as you would probably know. If you'd ask people from Mexico, they would tell you, the 5th of May doesn't get hardly any attention in Mexico. Here in 'the States', it one more day to drink beer. lol

Pedro Pitoringote .México pierde la mitad de nuestro territorio mediante el " Tratado de Guadalupe Hidalgo" Derivado de la guerra de Estados Unidos contra México :1846-1948.
Además los mexicanos que vivían en ese territorio, no querían pertenecer a México por él mal gobierno de Santana y esto lo apoyaban los Polkos .

nope 5 de mayo is not an important day for Mexican people, we knew as a important battle in Puebla but I think this misunderstand comes for three importance of that battle takes in the context of the secession war, (the American civil war) because France was supporting the south and with the defeat of France fit the Mexican army cause to long term the supremacys north army over the south. (a brief lesson of American history hahaha)
