Skiing Zermatt to Cervinia John and Glen

We took the train up to Gornergrats from Zermatt and skied down to Furi and then from Furi to Trocknersteg from a run on the Furggsattel slope before taking the Matterhorn glacier ride up to Matterhorn glacier paradise and skiing to the Italian Border and down into Italy, we stopped at Posset for a coffee and snack before skiing down to Cervinia. We skied in the Cervinia Plan masion area for the rest of the day and had a quick pizza lunch before going back to the top and decentint back to Zermatt,

Hi! Thank you for your fantastic video. Will be in Zermatt this Thursday - Sunday. Do you know if Cervinia and Valtournenche has been or will be accessible from Zermatt or do they close it for the season? Also, is the longest piste from Matterhorn Glacier Paradise to Cervinia or Matterhorn Glacier Paradise to Valtournenche?

If it’s not to windy they will be open, yes a very long slope from the top of zermatt to Cervinia base

HI there. Will be visiitng zernadtt mid April this year. How are the ski conditions like in April this year? Still pretty decent snow and groomed trails? WIll you still be able to cross zermatt to cervinia? thank you

Yes the slopes where great in April the last few winters so I think the same this one,
And yes it will be open.

Is everything at Zermatt "on-piste" ? Can one jump off into untracked anywhere on the mountain ?

There is lots of bits on the sides, and yellow zones witch are avalanche controls. It really depends on the snow base, and it’s mostly all on rocks.
But up high there are crevasses on the glacier, never venture to far out when up on the Matterhorn glacier area.
