Calendar time can be meaningful if you do it in the beginning and end of the day. (A 4/5 year old program.) They learn rote counting and left to right progression (that's the purpose for me). Yes, rote counting is important too, although definitely not the most important. I do not focus on the year or the day of the week. Just the name of the month (related to the month's holiday or season). At the end of the day add a rudimentary drawing of an event or something that was done during the day. Have a brief recall discussion. Each day recall the day before (for that week). The children will then have a sense of time being events that happened.
Oh my gosh! I am soooo happy I found your channel! I start formal homeschool of my four yo daughter tomorrow and this information is going to be so helpful. Thanks a million. I'll be doing days of the week for that day but had not planned on doing the yesterday, today and tomorrow because I knew my daughter does not comprehend that information. She does understand TODAY so we will work with that lol.
Just started teaching my 4 year old preschool-at home. . .you are fantastic and very comfortable. Very easy to watch. . .super helpful! Thanks for quality content! 😊
Amen! Thank you for saying what I knew in my heart as a homeschooling mom. I'm about to teach a preschool class for Co-op and they want me to teach calendar.

Yes and you can do this in just a few minutes. 5 at most.

This is why I do a linear calendar. 1-31 left to right. We don't do days.
Good evening Vanessa. Great job. Thank you.

What if anything do you recommend if my students all don’t have the same daily schedule? My kids have different schedules each based on their needs.
Thisbis fantastic- thank you!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate all your suggestions and ideas!!!
I can’t see your details on your cross off calendar - is there numbers on the squares?
Your linear progression. You don’t use numbers. What do you use? Just a drawn line?
