  • The new light wind board concept - the SUPER LIGHTWIND. Formula-like early planing with the very first of wite caps. Antoine Albeau F192, Micah Buzianis USA34 and Phil Horrocks K303 show the advantages of this new design: The new super-planers in action - planing in a minimum of wind.

If you know what you're doing and have some big sails you'll be fine. I'm 125 kg and with my 9.5 I go in about 15. I let my friend who's smaller use that setup in about 11-12 and he was ripping. If you get a nice 10.0 formula sail you can probably get it going below 10.

When you fly 2 sailors to Maui and rent a helicopter you do the shoot whether there's light wind or not. Probably why they took some light wind shots from the beach, yes?

Hi, does anyone know what is the minimum wind to play with this sort of boards? The average wind where (Isabela, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador) I want to do windsurfing is 8-16 knots...is enough? I weigh 75kg. Thanks.

light wind is a relative term - I guess anything less than wind that can tip a train is "light wind"

as the guy is using only a 6.7 with this big board, the conditions are not exactly what one calls light wind

I have the 92 and with my 8.5 I get going around 17 or 18. But I weigh 125 kilos. With my 9.5 I've had it going in 15. If you're much lighter you can probably get going around 12 with an 8.5.
