The music industry has lost touch with what music really is. Bands like this bring such a breath of fresh air compared to the dribble out there now. There's fire, passion, and skill, not just someone writing electronic beats and mumbling. Cover or not, this is outstanding in it's own right.
Not really “breath of fresh air” is it? I mean, HSCC is covers on a level pretty much not found anywhere else, but its a cover.
@@TGF87 Yup, a breath of fresh air. Their arrangements are impeccable. Early Beatles music contained several covers, but they performed them in a way that no one else had. Many Jazz albums entirely consist of other peoples material, but good musicians bring a different perspective into the piece in a way that's highly original and powerful. There has always been new original material that's trash, and a lot of covers that are outstanding, and every piece of music performed by Beethoven or Mozart is a "cover" but there are those performances that stand out, others that are mediocre, and a few that are absolutely outstanding. I think this is what's happening with HSCC.

I met and played golf with Dan Seals every week for the last 3 years of his life. Just a good guy.. He loved music, but moreover he LOVED talent. He would’ve found this cover very, very flattering. 👍🍺
Dan had a solo career, but not a member of Seals and Crofts. I dated Andi his wife. Jim Seals is who you mean 🙏😎

Wow! I just researched the history of Dusty Stephensen. Dusty is a miracle and a very courageous human being. When faced with an incredibly unexpected act of violence and evil he demonstrated what honor and bravery looks like. We can expect great things to come in the days ahead from Dusty and HSCC. The world needs you right now. For a time such as this you were called.

A few days ago I discovered HSCC's channel. Ever since I keep watching and listening. I love the songs they choose and the way they play them. Great musicians and singers👍👍👍Compliments and kind regards from a drummer from The Netherlands. And like someone else said in the comments here, how can you give thumbs down for these guys....? I wish I could play a couple of songs with them🙏

Does this ever take me back. I remember when this came out. It was one of my favorite songs. This version, however, is obviously the work of a genius. I love it more than the original. Absolutely fabulous arrangement!!!

The lead vocalist/guitarist was outstanding.
This is my favorite HSCC - out of a lot of good ones. This piece covers the Isley Brothers (who covered Seals and Crofts), and it’s as sinewy and sultry and summery as its predecessors. But it also has its own heart and pulse at its core - it has personality and luscious musicality all through it. It’s got true style and it settles in the memory.

I think what you hear as "talent" is more like something to his voice that makes it incredibly unique. There are lots of very talented singers in HSCC, but it takes something extra to distinguish yourself from that pool of talent. Really successful singers are not only talented, they're different.
Whoever does the arrangements on these covers is a genius, and the talent is just off the charts.

Again, HSCC takes a pop song and dresses it up, and knocks the ball out of the park - jazzy, grit and soul. Guitar solo expresses awesome.

Seals and Crofts wrote and did this song. The Isley Brothers was a cover. Louie Shelton played guitar on this. Not only did he play guitar, but he produced their gold and platinum records. Louie Shelton of "The Wrecking Crew". The big bunch of guys (and girl) who created the sound of Rock and Roll in the sixtees.

Wow oh wow I came across this band while scrolling on TH-cam. As a grieving mom for four years now, it’s some comfort to hear relaxing music. Although certain music brings me tears but still nice to hear this band playing music I enjoyed from the past . You are all amazing musicians. Your choices of songs are fantastic. Btw, my son MATT who passed away was a drummer 😪

This group’s sound is so crisp!! The Voices sound so clear!! Clearly these guys are total professionals!!
...there's a quality about certain songs that borders on the spiritual especially when the singer imparts such an emotionally gut-wrenching affect to the words...he's a skilled guitar player but what's most impressive is how he is able to belt out the last portion of the chorus each time in a slightly new way (blowing through the jasmine in my mind)...he has great vocal range, awareness and control...
Most cover bands aren't even up to the task of doing a decent recreation of the original much less putting their own spin on it, which I normally can't stand. Summer Breeze has always been a favorite. You guys knocked it out of the park on this one.

Listening to this Seals & Crofts cover of 'Summer Breeze' (1972) for the umpteenth time - and it just gets better and better every time. Tight, lyrical performance by #HSCC, and a particular pleasure for me to hear both Dusty Stevensen and James Muller both playing guitar together on the same track. 🙂👏

EXCELLENT VERSION. It's not a cover, it's a reinvention. Had they released this instead of Seals and Croft, Yacht Rock would have been invented in 1972..................................I dig the Oyster Pearl Ludwig drum set. My father bought me the same colored set in 1965. I tortured him for years. I took up acoustic guitar in 1967 and my father finally forgave me. Music helped pay my way through college in the 70s.
The real deal in every way .. so over crap music .. vocals amazing and lead guitar.. Thankyou

Takes me directly back to the Gulfstream Racetrack in Hollywood Florida and the sound here is very close to being just as moving as it was was that day listening to it live from Seals & Croft. This band just adds a little "kick" to it.

My high school senior trip was to King's Dominion in Fredericksburg, Va. in 1977 and I saw Seals and Crofts there. Heard this song and many others. Great concert. This is a very good cover. Exceptionally well done!
