Get rid of all the duplicate brushes so that you are forced to clean them. You don’t have to trash them either, donate them to someone who oil paints they will be grateful. As long as the brushes don’t shed. PS I totally empathize with keeping an old expired naked 2. Lol. I kept mine forever until a few years ago when it went bad and the brush even fell apart. I now throw away old makeup as soon as it expires pretty religiously.
Your collection is indeed minimal. In my opinion, there’s no such thing as a true minimalist. It’s all about keeping and using only what you need, use, and love without excess; and that looks different for different people. 😀♥️
Loved this! And exactly - does eyeshadow really expire to the point of being bacteria-laden? I don’t think so. I’ve had palettes for years and years that are still like new. But the wet products like foundation and mascara - I replace those much, much more often.
i JUST got rid of a lot of the eye shadow i talked ab in this video. what really helped me was taking it out of my collection and hiding it for a month to see if i even thought about it, when i realized i didnt, i tossed it!
there is not a "true" minimalist out there! Minimalism means that you own what you use and enjoy. You don't have to have an exact number of items. Just be honest with yourself and own what works for you, let other people have how much they want to have. It is about the mindset, not the comparison.

Love this video but i couldn't just have one lip colour in my collection im obsessed with every colour but i see how if you have a nude it goes with everything Im a mum and still love my makeup not as much as i did in my young twenties now im reaching nearly 30 i usually stick to a small amount on the daily x
You could also get a multi shelf item that goes up and would fit in that area or wall shelves. I also do minis to minimize clutter and have a better chance of using it up.

Another good reason to keep extra brushes on hand is if they start falling apart. Some of my BH brushes have held up well but after a few years of daily use some of them are biting the dust now. Nice video!
Personally, I wouldn't keep extras I don't need or particularly like just on the off chance that my other ones might, maybe, bite the dust years down the line. That's how clutter starts.
Powder products don’t actually expire for years but oils from your skin/brush can build up on top and that layer can go off. You can remove the top layer (scrape it off) and spray it down with isopropyl alcohol to sanitize. Since you don’t use eyeshadow that often you are probably just fine. I love your beautifully edited collection. ❤️

I really enjoyed your video and I honestly felt very inspired to declutter my own makeup collection. However, not to be judgy or preaching, but eyeshadows do expire and old eyeshadow can transfer bacteria on your eyes and cause eye infections (which you mentioned for other eye products). Hooooweeeveeer, I understand Naked palettes are really useful (even if you don't use them daily), and because they are expensive I know you don't want to throw them away. Just try to use them with clean brushes and remember to clean around the pallet from time to time. Sending lots of love from Croatia 🥰
For me you are true minimalist. I am minimalist and I use almost all I have BC I made few bad choices. Gave all away accept few things so now I have to give it a time than I'll be just like u few product's I use and that's it . You are amazing. Being minimalist is use all u have even if this means only sometimes. So I am a dancer I don't use all the thing's I own daily so some are for my dance only still I'm minimalist. You are better but I'm in process. You are true minimalist haha be proud of yourself

You can sanitize your eyeshadow. Wipe each shadow with a tissue first, then spray with 90% rubbing alcohol. Don't saturate. Wayne Goss made a video about this. Tfs
