    That sound is just fantastic! Can only be delivered by a BSA. Love it! :-)

      Great sound, Manx Nortons , G50s and AJS 7Rs made a similar sound

    Shutting off a long way from the corners? Guess that is because of the slippy track? It looks terrible with block paving on corners. Overhanging trees dropping water and sap onto the road, no wonder you cannot go into the bends faster! They need to find a better location!! Well done for a great ride, love the Goldie sound!!

    Somehow don't like the idea of that block paving on some of the bends !

    Loving the needle on the Chronometric, accurate to 1% but only when it feels like it :)

    The Goldie to your right with the guy wearing a Phil Read helmet, must have been running a 17 cog sprocket max the way he took off.

    I assume that those five plus Gold Stars were the 500cc Gold Stars, not 350's. I recall that a Company in Holland was manufacturing new DBD 34 Gold Star engines and again I assume these Gold Stars were powered by Dutch made engines. Hopefully upgraded as the original crankshaft design originates from 1926 though upgraded for the Gold Star with cast steel flywheels. Still had rivetted in crankshafts though.
    Whilst slow off the mark, when the power came in at ~ 4,000 rpm on the DB/DBD 34 Clubmans, it was a really good idea not to exceed the factory recommended 7,000 rpm. So on my DB 34 upgraded to DBD 34 spec. with 65-2442 and 65-2446 cams, 1 1/2" GP carburettor not a lot was either game to catch it, or stay up with it at the first bend. Best I saw out of mine was 115 MPH. I was nervous for you cornering in the wet.
    Terrific video! Brought the memories flooding back from 50 plus years ago!

    • @koster1979
      @koster1979  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My engine revs to 8250 but the full racing spec absaf revs to 9500

      @@koster1979 Wow... my Absaf revs 7400 verry smooth... but than she vibrates terrible so i dont dare anny more. Didnt know about the 9500.... must be a piston speed over 26/ms....

    • @heinzmaier2739
      @heinzmaier2739 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK.... now i have seen all your videos and all is good again... You rarely shift over 6000 and come down to 3 in the corners wile i shift by 7,4 and try to never come under 4000....aided by 5 speed gearbox..... but still get beaten by many...thats live

    Carb tuning

    • @b.nichols3255
      @b.nichols3255 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to race a 350 Goldie, with a GP carb as these had, the 'tick-over' is none existent. You tune the carb for pickup and full throttle only. And you won't hear that. You feel the pickup on the bike (throttle valve cutaway) and do plug-chop for full bore tune.

    tres beau son de la bsa goldstar . dommage que le pilote ne sache pas rétrograder . espérons qu'il va s'habituer a donner un coup de gaz avant de rétrograder pour ne pas abimer sa boite de vitesses . trop de baisse de régime pendant une course . on doit tourjours garder les tours dans les virages . oomme ça le moteur sert de giroscope et la tenue de route est sécurisée .
