When I was 19 years old I had the opportunity to live with Mark in a program In the south Bronx called Sera. He once asked me to sit with him at the piano at a band rehearsal that he was having that day. He had me play the lower register while he played the middle to the top. For a 19 year old African American, this to me was one of the greatest things to ever happen to me. It was during that same time period that I also met Willie Colon through a Colombian friend of mine by the name of Mario Beltran who was doing some work in Willie's house. We also had trumpeter Ernie Augusto who had his own band which was called La Conspiracion if I remember correctly.

As a teenager I was in awe of Mark, and I used to beg him to teach me anything. I would sit for hours just listening to him play those beautiful but complex harmonies, and those electrifying melodic passages but Mark was not a perfect human being he had his up's and down's along the way, and one of them was the drugs. almarquis he was a dynamic human being, and I can testify to that because when Markolino walked into a room he had electricity all around him. The women loved him but I don't remember him fooling around with them because that was one of the rules of the program at that time. However he did have special privileges that the rest of us didn't have such as going out for band rehearsals at Fania, or when he was playing a gig.

Uno de mis favorito pianista de salsa. Me gusta los solos que el hace usando cromaticos y augmented scales. Me Gusta el solo de rompe saraguy con Hector La Voe. Jorge Dalto fue otro tremendo pianista de salsa que fallesio.

Que nivel amigo! Ale me voy a comprar un piano digital de teclas contrapesadas. Vi un yamaha p105 y un yamaha p255 El p105 todas las teclas tienen el mismo contrapeso (ghs) mientras que en el p255 cada tecla tiene un peso distinto (ghe) como un piano de cola. El que tu usas creo que es un Roland, que modelo es y como cuanto cuesta? Que me recomiendas? Ya tengo un teclado de los basicos, no tienen peso las teclas (nunca eh probado un piano con teclas contrapesada)
Hola Manuel Garcia Este piano del Video es un Yamaha CP70 Electroacustico, y en otros videos recientes he usado un Roland RD64. Los precios de este los puedes chequear en internet. Si puedes tocar siempre con un teclado con peso, pues mucho mejor para fortalecer las manos. Saludos. AM
