- Here are behind the scenes from DESTINATION DOMINO 2024, featuring 100,000 dominoes of the most visually stunning designs and satisfying tricks! Over the course of 10 days, my team and I built this massive 50'x50' freestyle domino setup at the National @BuildingMuseum in Washington, D.C. The goal of the project was to showcase the true beauty of Domino Art and demonstrate the coolest effects possible. Some highlights include our biggest and most satisfying domino spiral ever, the Mona Lisa, Fibonacci spiral, Washington, D.C. skyline, and the National Building Museum's colossal Corinthian columns.
What makes this project unique was that it purposely wasn't highly planned out to the exact domino. This allows a lot of room for fun spontaneity, free flowing tricks, organic paths, and lots of surprising elements, leading to a incredibly unique setup that could only be achieved through the nature of creative on-the-spot problem solving.
HUGE thank you to the National Building Museum (nbm.org) for having us - this event was a truly dream! 😄 I am honored to have had the opportunity to be an artist-in-residence, and can't thank the museum enough for being so gracious and wonderful to collaborate with. Getting to fill their beautiful space with as many dominoes as we could was the BEST :) Special thanks to Amazon, STUDIOS Architecture, and MiTek as well for sponsoring the event, and to @SpinMasterGames for providing the H5 Domino Creations! what was your favorite part of the setup? 😊
pls notice me I’ve been watching u for 5 years pls pls pls
It was the big spiral, of course!
The entire thing was our favorite!
The main spiral with the fire and ice combos!
The colossal spiral of course!! It's literally the title of the settup!
i love when the lines diverge and lead to simultaneous collapse of multiple structures, shows mastery of timing.
Yes, i love behind the scenes videos!!!
I loved the fall down video but I didn't properly appreciate how much work went into this project until I watched this video. Thanks for sharing this story with us, Lily. All the kudos to you and your team.
Congrats to Lily and the whole team! Incredible build with so many elements that looked beautiful as they toppled. Appreciate all the behind-the-build details (and drama). Everyone loves seeing the actual topple, but these glimpses into 'the process' are the most fascinating part to me.
my favorite art of the setup was the colossal spiral because I really love the combo of fire and ice in the spiral.
So many favourite parts! The spiral was incredible and had a rhythm to it, the kapla towers falling in a spiral, the elevated sections where the dominoes fell onto the floor (so satisfying lol), the subway map (I love public transit), the sonimod, the group of four coloured towers that fell perfectly simultaneously... There were a few times where I thought, ok this must be the end and it just kept going!!! That was my favourite 🤗 congrats again!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Edit: oh and the flower, the Fibonacci, and the triangles!
That was so much fun to watch, I always like the behind the scenes of an event just as much, if not more than the falldown. Also the part where Wim and Marco had to build with the American style was pretty funny lol
Everyone loves the spirals! Me too!
Building it! So privileged to be a part of it. 😊
So cool
The european vs american building bits were so good😂
Полезный Ютуб снова заработал хорошо здорово и приятно что полезный Ютуб снова работает
Fantastic!
How many dominos? Half a million? Incredible 👍
100,000!
Watching the time lapse, it was interesting to see you didn't build from the top down, it seemed very random how you built the various parts although I'm assuming there was a reason behind it
During the Pandemic I developed an interest in Metro systems around the world - last year I visited Vienna with the specific purpose of visiting every U Bahn station in a day - so seeing the DC Metro map was pretty cool
yeah honestly the building order was super random - we just built the projects that were more straightforward and had some rough plans/ideas first. that’s awesome!!
Wow
When will the challenge video be uploaded and the tallest domino tower? Lovely vid btw❤❤
aiming for August 17!
@@H5dominocommunity cool 😎👍
When r u going to announce the winner of the open ended challenge?. Nice Video Btw. Love it
Thank you! The final compilation and winner announcement for the open ended challenge will be up next Saturday :)
@@H5dominocommunitythank you for the information:)❤
@@H5dominocommunityYay! Now I’m more excited!
half of the finale fell over but how did that happen?
the board that was holding the dominoes up collapsed too early, likely due to too much weight pressing on the soft floor and the board not leaning back enough on an angle
that was sad to see that happen
20:55 Fail!
Lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
meow.
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
meow.
Meow 😼
Ruff!
lol it's a pain for europeans to build in the american way😂
