Listening to Jr talk about what he was surprised that he missed the most, is what most athletes miss the most. That bond and locker room isn’t something that can be replaced. It’s similar in anything where people spend so much time together fighting and trying to do better for the team and the guy next to you. You can’t replace that, and it’s totally foreign to anyone who’s never experienced it.

Dale Jr., has this podcasting down. Not a lot of people can jump out of a race car and do it. He's mastered it. Plus the fact that he's a NASCAR walking History guy.. He knows his stuff and some.
Cool to see how high that '55 suspension sits. Dual truck shocks and rear axle, springs and heavy duty parts...typical Smokey. Power Pack advertising foretold the future. From these humble beginnings, the Chevy small block would become easily the most prolific and succesful engine of all time.

Nascar is so screwed.... No more Dale Jr. No More Jimmie... When Harvick hangs it up along along with Ryan Newman the last of the old school guys will be gone... There really isn't any new school drivers that Im a fan of where I need to watch every race... Especially since I really don't enjoy new school nascar... Jr, Harvick, Jimmie, Newman etc all started around 2000-2002 so the end of the old school driver is coming soon. Kurt Busch is also from that time period as well... Who else am I missing from that 2000-2002 period that still races today?
I don't agree. Those guys will definitely be missed as they're all legends. However, there is a lot of strong young talent in Cup right now. Blaney, Buescher, DiBenedetto, Elliot, and Wallace are all quality drivers who have the ability to be the legends of the next generation. Will they? Only time, experience, and equipment will tell, but they have the *ability* to get there.

I said same thing on video of humpy explaining bus jumps and mike brings things to a hault and even dale shoots him the "what the f#%k" look a couple times. Let the guy telling the story tell the story and sit back and listen, when they finish then ask a question.

He's been pretty adamant about staying in Xfinity series...Cup costs so much money, and he's not interested in dumping his own money into it. He's also said that it's much more of a "business" in that wins are all that matters. He loves helping drivers get to Cup, but they all pay to play at Jr. Motorsports.

He is retired. Too many medical issues and he was not feeling it as much anymore. He needed a change and getting married and having a kid. Life is good for him now. More him having say and not being as pressured.
When a sport loses two dudes like this and throw in Jeff G. and Carl E. and some wonder why it seems something is missing. There are two others that when they leave the sport may not recover and that is Kyle Bush and Kevin Harvick. After that it will be "who's in that car now"? That doesn't sell tickets.
