Feel like going back in time with viscosity measurements! With all of todays high end technology, you would think PPG would have a better solution to reduce envirobase base! Depending on what state you live in the viscosity method is worthless do to temperature changes that occur from hour to hour. Sorry but DBC is the only way to go! ( Reduced by weight on the scale )
DBC is like 15 -20 years behind times , I retired 2 years ago from being a PPG Certified Automotive Refinisher for 46 years and started spraying Aquabase/envirobase almost 20 years ago , I was the first to spray it in my town . Color matches and the ease of application and the speed of getting the vehicle out of the paint booth is second to none with Waterborne. I sprayed DBU for many years and never cared for DBC , but then I used the hardener for the base to make it like DBU for the 2 years I sprayed DBC before I went Waterborne!! I don’t spray vehicles anymore but I still stay up on the technology as me and my jobber I have known for 40 years now and I stop in and see what’s new and exciting!!!
Thanks Charley! Great tip!
