Hi there, I'm the Black Ice dev that works basically only on Italy. Very soon, probably in the next upcoming version, BICE will see a new reworked Italy with a reworked NF, airforce, war in Ethiopia, characters, both politicians and generals/admirals. In the BICE discord we've already shared some teasers and news, in case someone is interested. Hopefully by 2025, I'll be able to work on a new part all about the Armistice and the Italian civil war, bringing the RSI and the allied Kingdom of Italy, with new already planned mechanics. I'd like to say that the BI team is doing a great job. This mod is fantastic. It kicked my butt, slapped me in the face, and broke most of my bones. When I recover, I'll be back.
Weird thing about that - they didn't have any of 1936 designs that they should have, but they DID have a bunch of interwar designs, and that was planes that I was using at the start.
Pretty much all battleships had plane catapults, a lot of heavy cruisers and even bigger light cruisers did too. They was needed for this things called aerial recon and ASW. Pretty much same reason ships has helicopters now. Just too clarify, conventional ships operated float planes that was recovered by literally landing near ship and being picked by a crane on board. Japanese even had special recon heavy cruisers of Tone-class specifically build towards intense plane operations

I think that for nations like Italy that capitulated before the end of the war, you should be allowed some leeway in division template designs, in the years we have no further sources for, based on trends that were already in progress. So what I mean for instance, is the tank division expanding a bit, and more of the motorcycle & motorised infantry getting replaced with mechanised forces.
Hmm... It's quite interesting how different your and bitter's games went. His Germany managed to destroy USSR alone. Could it be because you imported iron from France and not Germany?
@@Aldrahill maybe you let your forces lose sometimes in order to make your videos more interesting, but if not, here’s a tip: autoplanning bot doesn’t attack provinces that are connected to only one of its own provinces if there are partially surrounded ones. You can place just one random division in these less attacked provinces and focus all your main forces on the critical areas. Draw there defence lines and your frontline will become unbeatable. That’s how all of Endsiegs are commonly being won
@@AldrahillIt could have potentially been that. I did notice you decided to trade for oil with the US rather than Romania (although I’m not sure how much oil Romania has in BICE tbf). It’s always good to only trade with nations which you will fight alongside with even in vanilla. Otherwise you’re just strengthening the enemy. *cough* *cough* Japan *cough*

I had to completely rebuild my computer earlier this year as my computer was literally dying, so now I can actually make it past 1945 xD First time ever
Next time you fight in the Egypt area, check out the bottleneck just north of Luxor. By fortifying just 3 tiles, you can lock up the entire southern border. If you combine this with forts in the Suez and El Alamein, you can reduce your entire land border in Egypt to just 6 tiles that you have to defend. With level 5 forts, and two divisions per tile, 12 good infantry divisions can hold on to Egypt for quite a long time. One of the 3 tiles in the south is also a mountain, which can help farm for the mountaineer trait, if you want to later try and invade the Caucasus, etc.😃
Remember how the British Empire annexed the entirety of Andalusia after a small border skirmish between Francoist borderguards and the tens-of-thousands-strong Gibraltar Garrison? This mod is SO historically accurate!
It actually isn't that weird for a battleship to have a catapult on it, most ww2 Era battleships had a couple scout planes they could launch to help with aiming the guns.
Well this timeline is broadly horrifying: With Italian Competence the following has occurred: - Massive unrecoverable Allied Losses with millions more dead than in our own timeline - UK Sealion will result in an American Supported Government Ultimately as the european axis collapses (to the USSR) - All of mainland Europe will fall under Soviet Influence with exception of Greece, Turkey and Iberia. With the likely scenario of the greek civil war ultimately succeeding in this timeline. Oh and of course, Japan saw the destruction of much of asia, although they will inevitably surrender it's possible that we will not see a chinese civil war as the KMT was destroyed, which may lead to either a korean split of china once the USSR invades manchuria or potentially a china that comes under the exiled mao (or another character).

08:40 the real reason why they put the black shirt legion into the regular division is because the Italian army high command realised that a binary division is a bad idea if they can't motorized it. So they got back to the old triangular.
@@Aldrahill yes I know. Also North African Auto-Transport Division (Regular Infantry Division in North Africa) Don't have the black shirt legion and their artillery are fully motorized.

Honestly, this mod is really overrated. There's so many issues with the historical accuracy and how some things are handled, especially with Italy. No planes in 1936, Turkey joining in 1943, the annexation of a state in Spain by the British? Stupid. On another topic, you should branch into other mods! There's so many full conversions out there that you might find yourself really enjoying. Maybe you can bring your historical sense into them and try to accomplish certain goals? Sky is the limit. Loved the video as always dude.

I'm pretty sure italy had planes in 36...
Weird thing about that - they didn't have any of 1936 designs that they should have, but they DID have a bunch of interwar designs, and that was planes that I was using at the start.
They had a fairly large and capable air force in 36... that was not so large and awfully obsolete by 1940
