I love this sequence. It removes the fear of batman original anonymity, but creates a whole new one. Yes we know the bat is Wayne, but the amount of fear toxin crane dosed him with, and this would be visible in his eyes, facial expressions and speaking, it took him to his limit, becoming joker but then as Joker, he gets scared again and is taken back over by the bat, and purely the bat, no human, no Wayne, just the freakish fearless terrifying Bat, hence the third dose bring either non effective or strengthening the bat even more. Yes we know he is Bruce Wayne, but who is this new Bruce Wayne, he is simply and purely Batman, the scariest version.
Honestly these batman videogames need to be made into movies. They are GOOD

I love how the joker takedowns just shows Batman being more and more brutal... he most definitely can kill people easily, but he restricts himself to only knocking them out. Except now.
Usually he gets breaks from Joker's daily dose of personally ruining his life, but when he's a phantom that you see everywhere you go, you kinda want to put one between his eyes.

In the end it wasn't Scarecrows toxin that do the trick. Joker was already in his blood. In a chemical way Joker mixed his dna with Bruce already. What fear toxin did was just to accelerate the process, skyrocketing the fear of Batman becoming the Joker. Not stopping it.. That's why we first see Batman becoming the Joker in his mind, this is acceleration, not stopping.. :)
In fact those final scenes SHOWS us the incredible willpower of Batman, Bruce Wayne, not that fear toxin helping him. :)
Fear toxin on the contrary elevated Bruce's fear to become the Joker, in his mind he went through being Joker, and HE ALONE discovered the true fear of Joker being forgotten, NOT Toxin..
All toxin did was to shorten the time of transformation and intensify the fear of Bruce surfacing tenfold or even maybe more and what we see here is the incredible willpower of Bruce Wayne even overcoming that much fear all alone.
Because Bruce was faced to fully embrace his true fear and live through it in his mind and BECAUSE he didn't give in to his OWN FEAR and emerged victorious he ALSO discovered Joker's fear. That's the whole thing, it has nothing to do with toxin helping Batman etc.
Quite the contrary in fact. Toxin made his chemical situation far worse forcing him to FULLY EMBRACE his inner fear to become the Joker. That's not helping Bruce or stopping the Joker lol.
That only HELPED because Bruce willingly decided to face his own fears head on before even getting into that truck surrendering to Scarecrow, he knew what was going to happen, he was willing to fight back the influence.
Remember Batman saying "this is not going to end as you think it will Crane.." to Scarecrow after he arrived to Arkham Asylum?
Bruce was ready to face his own true fear at that moment and we literally see in a metophor that Batman's willpower ovecoming two different chemical hormonal, amygdala based substances, we are witnessing THE IMPOSSIBLE BEING OVERCAME BY SHEER WILLPOWER.
There is a spiritual story telling here also.. For someone to fully overcome their fears they have to fully embrace those fears to be able to understand the nature of fear. Batman in his comics never truly understand Joker. He once tried that and he was nearly going mad. This is the first time he truly fully embraced Joker's perspective hence he understood him, and by doing so he first discovered his own fear, overcome it, than discovered Batman's fear and than make Joker realize his own fear, done.
Fear toxin was just an amplifier, fastening the process. And Batman was full aware of this beforehand. Now do you realize how incredible a willpower, bravery, strategy he displayed and how he was also in control, not Scarecrow, not Joker, but Batman.

Yea the cure in city was only to stop the titan from killing him but the chemicals remained in those he infected that made him into what he is

That’s EXACTLY what scarecrow wanted he wanted the whole world the see that the great protector of Gotham city was nobody special just a normal human furthermore showing that Bruce Wayne could experience fear like everyone else and seeing that and Bruce’s greatest fear was becoming the joker Just proves Scarecrow's point that he isn’t special at all
Fear is one of the many things that make us human and Bruce Wayne is no exception nor is he any different than any other human being regardless he's just some dude with a lot of money fancy gadgets regardless of how it ended scarecrow still won the second the mask was removed thus giving Batman a face AND a name for the whole world to see.
@@David-lb5py if anything, that makes batman more inspiring. If batman can do what he can as a human who gets afraid, then crane is all the less effective. A mere man can be exposed to designed toxin with no purpose but inducing fear, and say "I'm not afraid." and mean it. Scarecrow took the biggest L ever and proving batman human only amplified it.
Scarecrow still won. He revealed Batman's handsome mug to the world effectively ending the series.

Without Paul dini rocksteady sucks at making Batman games I don't know why they just made Batman give up his character is nothing like that
I consider this a boss fight because you fight Joker. I call the final boss the “Joker and Scarecrow” boss because Batman proves to both the clown prince of crime and the master of fear that while they did almost succeed, it wasn’t gonna end how they both thought it would.

It's a hallucination as a result of Scarecrow's Fear Toxin. Batman's true fear is breaking his code: taking a life and allowing Joker's madness to take control of him.

I loved this game but I really hated that you don't get an actual boss fight against scarecrow who is the central antagonist
We already fought him in asylum, and he's never the fighting type, it makes more sense to have this instead since it fits his character

Scarecrow isn't really a fighter. Although he is skilled in martial arts and CAN fight, his thing is psychology and manipulation. He prefers to attack a person's mind, rather than their body. This is fitting for his character.
Scarecrow should be the next Batman movie's main villain. He hasn't been effectively cast as the main threat to Batman in years without getting overshadowed by others. Sadly, this wasn't the exception. Arkham Knight was an epic game, but Scarecrow was done dirty.

If you actually play the game, batman is infected by Scarecrow's fear toxin. This alows him to see his fear of joker returning.

Rocksteady went all out with this ending, but I'm not a fan of it being impossible to die in the final thirty minutes of story mode. Should have been some kind of boss fight with Scarecrow.

I read a batman comic where batman and scarecrow actually fought and scarecrow almost killed him
And don't forget, Croc mauled him to almost death. Its never exactly explained but he has a leg brace so his leg might be fucked up. We don't know how much damage Croc did to him so saying he could fight Batman from his comic Appearances wouldn't exactly make too much sense since its a different continuity and stuff.

Scarecrow in this game can't because he's crippled from being mauled by Killer Croc, and has a brace over his left leg. Instead this allowed him to sit back and ascend to mastermind status.

Batman vs Scarecrow: the man who uses fear benevolently vs the man who uses fear malevolently. Basically Scarecrow is a shadow archetype(among his very long list of shadow archetypes)to Batman, as both use psychological tactics to scare their enemies, but Batman avoids using it on innocents, whilst Scarecrow doesn't care who is on the victinity.

This was great but its so disappointing to not get a SINGLE scarecrow boss fight and that Scarecrow never actually really makes you feel scared throughout the game
Check him out in DC comics this year in Fear State. He is front and center as the biggest baddy in Gotham this year and Poison Ivy has her narcissistic ego back. She's abrasive rude and calculating. And to top it all off she now wants to be called Queen Ivy. That name is lame though.

Well, Batman was infected by the Joker Toxin. Essentially, he was becoming the comic version of the Batman Who Laughs. The Fear Toxin forced him to face that fear, face the Joker one last time. Sure, no final fight with Scarecrow but we got Kevin Conroy redoing the "I am Vengeance" speech from the original Animated Series.
Yeah, compared to Arkham Asylum where he'd become a giant Freddy Kruegar look-alike (right down the the clawed hand).
These games have more perfect lore than the comics sometimes. Because they know how to end.

I thought the toxins wouldn’t work on scarecrow, because he had been shot with as much fear toxin you could imagine by accident (I believe his dad was a mad scientist who made it but I could be wrong) and so he wanted to infect everyone else with it and he had overcome the fear. One of the many reasons why he is my favorite DC Villian.

Scarecrow isn't a villain that fights physically, it's very narrow minded to think that every fight should be physical to be called "fight". That final sequence against the Joker was the boss psychological fight against Scarecrow's toxine, because that's Scarecrow's way of inflicting harm to Batman.

Dr Crane should not be underestimated. He's much more badass now. He's also very good in one on on combat with his mastery of jiu jitsu, and the like. Also scarecrow has his sickle he has mastered. He's a great escape artist too. And for a time thanks to Penguin and a female chemist Dr. Crane could transform into a monster called the Scarebeast. As much as he hates Batman there is someone else he loathes, Selena Kyle. Catwoman and Scarecrow go way back with their own separate rivalry.
Why are Catwoman and Scarecrow at odds? I'm curious, I didn't know they were enemies.
@@maryi685 Read Catwoman Vol 2 58, 59, and 60. Then read Catwoman Vol 2 93 and 94. Batman is not in the story. There are short scenes with Penguin and Two Face but it's a great look back at the history between Selena and Crane.
