We fix the bomb problem while we you was playing the level. we up to v6 of the level. And thanks for playing our level. and all the other stuff you seen on the level editor. Was different parts of the level we was working on but change our mind near the end. It was a very long level at first. had about 8 to 10 different rooms. but to crap it and leave just 2 and that 1 troll room. but those room will be use down the line on another level.

That prision break lvl was amazingly good. The sound, the decorations, the gimmicks, the solutions, everything was so creative and had a lot of effort in it... but that bomb part does suck x'D So close to greatness

I'm leaning towards got super lucky, but it's entirely possible they knew it was jank and brute forced it anyway just to have an annoying level. Disappointing, because the rest of the level was actually pretty good.
Day 413 of posting a cool animal fact: Today's fact is about the Vietnamese mossy frog! These guys, as the name suggests have evolved to look like a rock covered in moss, but that's not the only interesting thing about them. Vietnamese mossy frogs can also throw their voices to confuse predators, making them think they are further away than they really are! But if this fails to fool the predator, they will curl up in a ball and pretend to be dead. It's pretty cute, I reccomend looking up a video of it.
Fun fact: In older versions, the characters DID matter for where a fireball landed while standing in certain spots. Nintendo decided to scrap that idea midway through the game's life, and now everyone throws fireballs at the same height as Mario. Panga switching characters for the test was simply a placebo.
But don't older levels keep the physics of older versions to keep levels from becoming unbeatable? Edit: not saying that it would matter in this case though
I think the bomb only explodes on the top or the bottom bc of where the hit boxes are. You have to jump on the top of it so you have to hit the fireball on top. If you hit the side of the bomb you take damage therefore the bomb isn’t affected by the fireball in the middle even though it would make more sense bc it’s closer to the gate
My guess is the hitbox for the one way is like a square with rounded corners, and the fireball hitbox is a similar shape that prioritizes hitting enemies over walls. So the only way you can hit the bomb is by overlapping with the empty corner of the one way’s hitbox where it isn’t covering the bomb’s hitbox. I dunno. Could be wrong.
21:00 was it possible that the freeze frame upon taking damage was altering the Fireball path? With it working because there was a gap between fireballs and the freeze frame had passed before the second one hit? Either way, I spent 4 minutes watching Panga define madness.
Pretty sure Storm the Castle is written by Jonathan Young. It's from his first (and presently only) album, Starship Velociraptor. Jonathan has some great music, but the recreation was pretty mediocre since I can't even tell if that's the song.

I just mean Jonathan Young is simultaneously good and strange enough that the MM level didn't (kinda couldn't) quite come across well is all. Space pirate metal is a pretty distinct sound after all 😂
I wonder if it has to do with the rotation of the fireballs? If the hitbox is square and rotates, it'll be wider when at a diagonal. Very weird, nonetheless.
When Panga was recreating the bomb level for science, does anyone know how he multi selected the bomb, the stones and the 1-ways to move them all at once?
Kinda seem'd like the fireball was less likely to touch across the one-way when it was traveling upwards in its arc. Perhaps its hitbox and hurtbox vary during its animation?🤷🏻♂
I think the fireball thing has to do with how deeply it clips through the wall on the frame it collides. You want it to be right before the wall on the previous frame.
The bit with the door on the on/off, the blowy joey, the pow, the muncher, the on/off getting actived, and the key door placement are all very similar The only other Mario Maker person I watch is Carl (when he doesn’t play troll levels) so that would be where I’ve seen it

Here's a fun fact about fireballs: 10 is the most fireballs you can have on screen at once by shooting. However if you spin jump, there is no limit.
