Thanks for the video. German here, who likes to congrats Serbia for the Bronze medal and comment on the performance of the German team. It is evident, that the Olympics team of Serbia is much better than Serbia's worldcup team from last year while the German team didn't change much (I would have liked Hartenstein to play). A few years ago we Germans were overjoyed if Germany qualified for a major competition. Now team Germany has been very successful in the last three major tournaments. At the Olympics Germany played according to their possibilities and won their group. So German basketball have become stronger. Just a few days ago the FIBA U18 EuroBasket champion was won by German against Serbia with 93 to 83. So I am optimistic for the future. Let's see what will happen.

Kokoškov was not an "experiment", he simply did not have players due to "windows", injuries... bad timing, great respect for every coach from Serbia.
All the players said that he is the best "player managment" coach they've ever seen, amazing motivator and human but unfortunately the worst timing where he just haven't had a roster to do anything and ppl on top just moved on acting like he had the best roster and failed..

As a German congrats to Serbia's bronze! They really deserved it after that all-time game against the US. Our goal was to get a medal, but the loss against France where nothing seemed to work in our favor was a though blow. I think it's evident in this game. Nonetheless we are very proud of our team! The next international Tournament will decide if our systematic rebuild fully worked and whether we are able to stay among the top basketball nations or if our run since 2018 was just this specific group of guys and we're now about to dive back down to just good

Pesic was heavily criticized for cutting off Teodosic from the team by the Serbian media and the people in general. To me, that move meant how serious and determined he is, by not leaning to the popular opinion. He knows basketball can't be won anymore just with clutch heroes like Teodosic (and e.g. Spanoulis) but with running and playing exceptionally good defense. Ironically, we needed a clutch hero against the USA, more than ever...

After the 1st quarter Serbia played in third gear , after his third foul , Bogdanović was out for almost 75 % of the game.
if Serbia would have played full throttle , it would have been 25 points plus difference probably.
Now we see that Olympic Basketball Tournament is waaaay more valuable than the FIBA World Cup , which is almost 2nd tier FIBA level we have to admit.
In Germany we were only so happy last year , because for decades , Germany never won anything in BB since EuroBasket 1993.

Our team needed Schröder , Franz , Obst , Theis , Voigtmann , Bonga , Thiemann all in top form to be able to compete , but today they didn't deliver , and it showed that the talent discrepancy between the teams succeeding in Olympic Semifinals and Olympic Medal Matches - and our team - is too big.

My BB soul can rest now. Champions of our hearts, only losing to the overpowered US - "we have shown the world that even a god-king can bleed" (aaah, you gotta love a good quote - could not resist - love to our Greek brothers). Payback for last years Manila odyssey with a denied happy ending (again - but you cannot have them all) and a deserved medal (looking back at the games Serbia played - most and consistently at least 2nd best team of the Olympics). Germany was underwhelming even with Greece and i think it was about time for them to fizzle off from their previous glory. Really happy for Jokic (imo mvp of this tourney) and Serbia because they deserved a spot into the medals. The worst part with these Olympics by far has to be the refs and im not talking just the Serbia vs USA or w/e but in general has been very sub par to the level of basketball that we are witnessing! Watch Steve Kerr's face expression in the first 3 1/2 quarters and you will see how desperate the bench of team USA was, even Curry's body language told there is no hope anymore. Without help of the referees, they would not have been able to return into this game. 6 point play, no foul calling on lebron James and moving screen of Embid resulting in a undeserved 3-pointer of curry and many more tiny details, like technical foul against Pešić complaining about Embid's obvious 4 step travelling, so this adds up in just 4 points, which was enough for team USA to win.

@@foodiniii6181 it's not clear why Pešić decided to keep him out in the 4th quarter, it's been told that Avramović might been exhausted or was aching, definitely guduric would have boosted too, but he got 2 extra fouls in the 2nd quarter for nothing. There were already injustice calls in the 1st quarter in favor of the USA. Everything is recorded on tape, well documented and witnessed by millions around the world to be preserved for the future and generations to come as an example of a totally rigged and manipulated game.

Germany have a really strong team and play great basketball, but with Jokic out there we're just too strong, Jovic from Miami didn't even play. Such shame, if there wasn't for those terrible refs, we would've played against France in finals.

Germany is good but not top three. I have said from last years World Cup they had the benefit of playing with a full squad while most countries were missing their best players and in the Olympics we saw what happened.
They are top 3. They beat Slovenia with Luka, Greece with Giannis. They were the real winners in their game in the semis against France. France was just saved by the referees so they won. USA no. 1 Serbia no.2 and Germany no. 3.
