I’m with you. Materials aren’t a problem for me…it’s the rare ship parts and what pisses me off is they keep giving me common and uncommon that I have too much of…
The main answer that it’s given me, and thanks for the vid as usual Rev, that answer is to ignore this until the inevitable player backlash against the the tax, forces $scoply to modify/remove it. Now all we need is for the matter changer to work to turn the tens of thousands of Envoy BP we all have into something useful. Would also have the benefit of reducing player inventories and aiding in reducing network congestion.
Hi Deuce. I am with you on the tax. It has frosted me from the start of playing this game how often, Scopely charges a tax so that you get less for spending more. Every day in the refinery, that is how it goes. Haven't they heard of economy of scale. In the real world, when you buy more, the cost goes down. Consider my pitchfork out.
I just want to point out that in the art they have of the Enterprise shooting the new enemy has the phasors coming out of the nacelles... And no one spotted that and had it changed. The level of care Scopely has for Trek.
@@jonathanmueller9062 Q in game looks nothing like John Delancie... so the art goofs have always been a thing that no one in development seems to care about. Hell, the outworld model for the Ent-D has had an asscrack down the center of the saucer section since the ship launched (Titan-A as well) and nobody cares. Holding this game to an art standard is pointless
Need a way to trade materials up also, need a way to do same for ship parts. Need a way to trade old currency that was earned ! So many old currencies. it's impossible to navigate it in inventory. We should get something for unused currency we could not spend too little to buy anything.
Thx Rev. Pretty sure we won a war about taxes we didn’t like. No new game taxes Scopely. Maybe save the “tax” math you are doing and fix bugs in the game.
Once I get the rares, I'm probably gonna be using them with PIC Worf, at least initially. He is a more reliable source of Hull Breach (90% chance for 3 rounds vs 60% chance for two rounds for the new 7 of 9 at t1)
Im sort of luke warm on this months content; however, i am EXTREMELY disappointed that they did not include a new loop in the IA building. The normal for this year should be to retire an old loop every time they introduce a new one. I still have at least 3 or 4 loops that i have to actively work and getting a CE for those would be extremely beneficial. as far as I'm concerned they do not get extra credit for putting five in the IA building initially (i.e., they get to add 5 more new loops before they add more to IA building) as many of those 5 loops were already dead content to higher level players. Hoping the mid arc updates adds a new IA box. As a community we should be demanding a 1 for 1 new loop to IA building addition every time they add a loop.
The mat converter seems like it will be an afterthought. With that low of a conversion it will take a long time to make any difference. I only see it as a way to slowly convert old mats to be used to scrap ships from previous generations. I just entered G5 and see no reason that this would have helped me in G4.
Just an fyi, the patch notes state the multi chest pull for officer shards was fixed but it is not. After upgrading my game I tried to do a 5 chest pull and only received a 1 chest payout like it has been since mid last arc. People need to upgrade their officers so I hope Scopely gets this issue fixed soon because it has been way too long already.
Conversion tax? Yea no, Scopely could have started the year off **strong** by doing something without a nefarious side to it... by taxing something we've begged for for literal years, they're showing us they really *dont* care about implementing any QOL improvements unless they can screw over the playerbase while doing it and or put said inprovement behind a grind wall.. I'm tired of this... *were* tired of this... they just couldn't help themselves.
Hey Rev, could I hit you up here? I don’t have discord and would love to know what crews will work against the Krenim. Much appreciated and love your content
With the ahead of the curve month loan event, why did they go back to the weekly sms and give you only 2 days to spend mats instead of all month long and those daily upgrade events. Wanting me to choose between sms or dailies and I will choose sms each time.
I haven’t seen anyone else say it yet, but dang, the new Tuvok and Icheb really hose Morale users. Explorers getting shafted again like they did with Freeman.
I’m mid 60’s and gone f2p for the last 3 arc’s, I haven’t yet got the ships for those and another new loop added to create more confusion. They’re adding more faster than they’re taking away. As I’m firmly in the g6 economy they’re not making me spend money either as the vault only holds 2k of sigma tritanium and less than 200 sigma dilithium. Stopped buying the monthly packs too as they might have g6 materials but hardly any g6 resources either, means I’m stalled from progression even as a dolphin spender….
Come on Rev, how you going to expect them to put the phasers in the right place when they can't even get the ships for their mission hostiles right? Mission text says I'm fighting a Borg cube, but the holstile is a regular Orion ship.
Tax is theft. I've been saying for the longest time that we should be able to convert all sorts of things in our inventory. Old credits, old BP and that sort of things.
Exchanging one mat for another sounds like a good first step towards exchanging older currencies/bps for newer ones or more accurately dead currencies for active ones. Though I'm sure everyone would love to exchange older bps for newer ones to help us get some ships faster. As for the tax, Scopely needs to fix the tax on everything, why am i paying 3-4 times more on a 2 pull when they piece should only be doubled from the single pull. It's not like the rng is any better from a multi pull than a single pull. But Scopely has given us something new, two completely useless below deck officers. I mean hell even some hostile ships give out condition states the only time they're useful is if you're fighting against a mining ship and you're not running morale. Get it together Scopely, the arc maybe the year from hell but the content and officers don't have to be from hell as well.
@ickyconcrete5370 they're usually not, but some officers with bda usually are ok in one area and shine in the other, either on the bridge or below decks. I was just stating that these officers have useless bda and my point was why even give it to them if they can't be used in that way.
@JimRienheart I don't think the BDAs are useless at my level, people I fight don't have guaranteed state application so I will get it for some rounds at least. I think the power is coming from the bridge abilities though (which I will never afford :D )
Good Video as for the TAX Grrr it's hard enough for us as I have said before over her In Australia and NZ our cost for every main pack in $150 for every prime every large pack, do they not want this region playing the game or competing with people like yourself, so the TAX hurts us way more Pitch fork at the ready.
The more I check the DTI store the more I CAN'T see DeMarco and Nesmith there :P In general - stuff there is meeeh, I'm not interested in rep gains boosters. Artifacts, officers, and chaos tech there look more like nice to have than must have. I appreciate the immediate sourcing though. But maybe because those are not very good - the aren't paywalled. Ex borg creds - NX refinery pays waaaay better for way less effort. That leaves Syndicate XP and maybe faction creds as the most valuable thing. Poor. Very poor. Also - 3 new currencies dropping from those solos.... whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I've always hated STFC tax! That's for players that don't mind grinding all day, but hey some of us have to work lol. We just don't have the time to grind for full pulls on every single grind and loop!
I think the material conversion is just too little too late for me to care about. As an ops 63, I would need to get at least 8 packs to get the building anywhere close to useable for me. So it is something that I am already going to ignore.
Don't accept hostile monetization just because it's always been that way. Each new feature brings a chance to make the game more fair to players. This is what I believe The Rev is preaching.
Well.... at least its not firing phasers out of the photo torpedo tube! Also.. remember in TNG the did release hydrogen from the collectors in Night Terrors. I would bet that confused the poor graphics people.. One Moon Circles....
Instead of adding more over complicated stuff that players didn't ask for, when is Scopely going update the games graphics from the eyesore 1980's to a fresh modern looking 2025 ?
a season-long arc would have been terrible, rev - it'd be like the whole season didn't happen/matter when they finally won and returned it to the status quo. the two-parter was brilliant enough on its one :)
I found that once I broke through the psychological wall of needing to do everything the game throws at us, the game kind of got fun again. It's still frustrating at times and Scopely logic is baffling as always, but just skipping stuff is refreshing and makes the game playable to me.
Getting what I need for ACC like Rare and Uncommon /Common rss or whatever it's called are way more important. Since it's not exactly easy for ftps like me to get enough Rare starts. Shame on you Scopely.
i hate to be that guy but im convinced this is gonna be the same as el aurians which goes add "new" hostile type then in the follow up arc add "new" ship to make that grind easier sorry but im really losing faith in the game atm it feels like rince and repeat content

The tax is literally how everything in the game works. Nearly every double pull has a tax vs single pull, and triple a bigger tax. I don't know why you'd get pitchforks over this one. It's an ability to do make a trade, if you choose. You don't have to choose. You definitely don't have to choose the premium option of more at a time. That has a cost. I think this is as it should be, and very much in line with everything we've had until now. Getting a specific mat type vs another should have some meaning, and a tax to make quick trades of larger quantities helps preserve this.
@@RevDeuce it's a service fee. Otherwise there's no point in having three different mat types. Honestly, giving the single pull with no fee is generous.

I’m with you. Materials aren’t a problem for me…it’s the rare ship parts and what pisses me off is they keep giving me common and uncommon that I have too much of…
right, that would've been nice. I also wanna trade in old event currency and if only to get rid of it

• The bookmark bug?
• The event menu bug?
• The build screen bug?
• Too many others to list them all...
@3:45, because Scopely's graphic team doesn't know Star Trek. It's arguable that Scopely in general doesn't know Start trek...
They were too busy coming up with yet another loop to notice.

The tax on the conversion is kinda expected. It’s in the game already for the trade down mechanic. Put in x, get x-y credits.
Yeah, it's expected, but if it's also time gated (ie 22 hour cooldown or something), then the tax is excessive since the tax is the timegate.
