Maybe they are new to mask making or that could just be their style! But personally I think it looks great! But there is no reason to say it looks weird and be disrespectful they probably took a long time to make it, how would you like it if someone said your art looked weird after spending 3+ hours on it?

I took felt cut it into the right shape, and then brushed it with a pet brush, it made that effect
