I'm embarrassed to even admit to reading it but..... the Fifty Shades books. A good friend of mine talked me into reading them. I was between books so I did. Sigh.... I freaking hate those books. It got to a point where I started skipping the intimate scenes. We got into an hours long "discussion" about it. My view being that the main characters are horrible people and it was a poorly written, poorly edited book. Her view being that they are so romantic and steamy. (Pardon me while I puke a little). I haven't taken her suggestion about a book since. We don't talk much anymore.
I am usually the ones who likes the book, and when my bff's don't like a series/book I love I'm just like "What? Why? How did you not? But that wasn't- That was a great moment in the story, it's a perfect metaphor! I'm trying to respect your opinion, but still, it was- it was PERFECTION,THOUGH."
the girl who hates the book is me, my bff loves all the crappy books and the girl leaving is our mutual friend who doesn't read. Our friendship in one video XD
I loved the Perks of Being a Wallflower and my bestie was all like "why did you tell me to read this it was crap" and I was like but it spoke to me lol
I read Goblet of Fire, some parts were skipable in my opinion The parts where everybody hates Harry and/or mocking him. It just felt too much. And Hermiones ridiculous SPEW spree. I get Crouch fired Winky and blamed her on something that she never did but oh my god she annoyed me to no end with SPEW....Saving graces: Yule Ball, First Task, Ron and Harry are friends again, Moody(Barty Crouch Jr) turning Draco into a ferret.
BFF: OMG read Carry On it's great it's romantic 5/5 Me: ... this was supposed to be great? 1.5/5 BFF: THE ROMANCE IS PERFECT Me: THE ROMANCE IS CONTRIVED several hours later Me: You know what, screw it.
Bethany and I have never really argued like this I mean like she is like I think whatever caused this to happen in the book, but this is definitely me and Tamara about the maze runner. You guys are so funny and awesome.:)
Since we're all confessing which books we hated, I didn't really like Heaven Is For Real. I dunno, it didn't really stick to me, maybe I should pick it up again and give it another whirl.
OMG, me too!! I stopped hallway through because it felt boring and senseless and even though I love John Green's books I felt it was a bit repitive. TFIOS was okay but WAY over hyped. *slowly backs away into a dark corner away from angry mob of fangirls/boys*
Seriously?! I thought that'll be the only series that I wouldn't see discussed on here! I started reading the first book and stopped after a few pages because it started slow. When I picked it up again I couldn't stop! That series is now my absolute favorite (I read it years ago and I reread the books countless times!) I compare all books with a similar idea to this series and the other books always lose (e.g. The Hunger Games)! I simply love everything about that series!! Can't belive anyone does not love them! Lol
50 Shades of Grey. My BFF (who is also my book BFF), LOVES it. I... not so much? We just avoid the subject, but I kind of feel a little guilty, so I bought her the trilogy (on paperback, of course) because she read it in pdf. I feel a lot better now.
I didn't like The Book Thief *hides*. I got halfway through it but I was still reading it because I just wanted to get through it and finish it. I think because I was going through such a crappy time whilst reading it, maybe that contributed to me not liking it, but I think in a while I might be inclined to pick it up again and read it.
I don't like the Divergent Series that much ( first book was good but the series went downhill for me) but my best friend loves it so much. We always have fights on who is better, Tobias Eaton or Percy Jackson.
It's not that I didn't like it but... I'm not a huge fan of the Fault in our Stars......... *coughs* and I have a crush on my book BFF who loves it. So... I mean... I can learn to fall for it like he has, right? *winces*
Tiotsa Mockingjay is a little bit boring. And so many favourit charactera dies. :( I really love THG. My fave is the second book.♥ But I don't really like Mockingjay too. :/
My friend LOVES a certain series, but I find it repetitive and boring (books are still being made, and there's at least 7 out already). I didn't even finish the series (I read about 6 of them, it was time to stop). Every time one of us mentions it, we argue a lot about it until we have to stop because it is getting out of hand. To be honest, we need someone to read the series, too, in order to settle it, but we haven't found anybody to read it with us. It's an endless cycle.
Beautiful Disaster! OMG I hated that book so much and my book bff loved it and we stopped talking for weeks because we always bring reasons of why I hated it and why she loved it and yes it's awful
The fault in our stars. For god's sake! My sister doesn't even like the fault in our stars. How indecent of that effing fox. She's no better than monica.
I totally hated Shatter Me. I could barely finish it and I skipped like 30% of the book. I also think Divergent is a little overrated. It's not bad. But it's not that good either
Book Nerd Problem: Disagreeing with your book best friend about Ships.
Jackie Nieto yes! Me and my friend are always doing that! She ships Harry with hermione, while I ship him with ginny💔💔💔
I never disagree with my book BFF because I don't have one😂
Saphire Artist
Same!! :D
Same 🤣
Agreed🤷🏾
My BFF thinks that America should've been with Aspen....This is why I put team Maxon posters all over her bedroom.
Why? Maxon was perfect...
maxon all the way. I shipped Aspen with that other girl forgot her name
lucy?
How can you ship America with Aspen, Maxon is perfect
Aspen loves Lucy at the end so it all makes sense
OMG I don't have a book bff :( none of my friends like books, it sucks
Same :(
Same
DIYforfun 😥
Agreed🤷🏾
Which book have you and your book BFF disagreed on?
Catching Fire.
I haven't taken her suggestion about a book since. We don't talk much anymore.
ladysia469 Whoa. That's serious.
I didn't like If I Stay, but the movie trailer looks pretty good...
For me, it was Beautiful Creatures.
I am usually the ones who likes the book, and when my bff's don't like a series/book I love I'm just like "What? Why? How did you not? But that wasn't- That was a great moment in the story, it's a perfect metaphor! I'm trying to respect your opinion, but still, it was- it was PERFECTION,THOUGH."
i hate when this happens i go to a book club. and when i hate the book we read they always love it talk about awkward
The music just slowly gets more dramatic and then that ending.
You guys should make a part 2 were you're both obsessed with the same book!
Literally never happens
I’ll worry about that when I have a best friend....I’m looking for a book best friend.
JanisProductions
Same
the girl who hates the book is me, my bff loves all the crappy books and the girl leaving is our mutual friend who doesn't read. Our friendship in one video XD
I hated The Great Gatsby. But who would be surprised by that?
Also...I seldom ever read Young Adult.
I still don't get the hype around Looking for Alaska. I tried to like it, just couldn't do it.
This is my sister and I every time we disagree on something. Mainly books.
Oh my god when I found out my BFF hated harry potter i was in shock for days!
I loved the Perks of Being a Wallflower and my bestie was all like "why did you tell me to read this it was crap" and I was like but it spoke to me lol
I read Goblet of Fire, some parts were skipable in my opinion
The parts where everybody hates Harry and/or mocking him. It just felt too much. And Hermiones ridiculous SPEW spree. I haven't even started "fifty shades of gray" that my friend let me "borrow" over a year ago...
We were on a break!
I did not expect a friendship contract
i totally feel the same way, but i've never ended a friendship. it also helps that my book bff is my brother!
i didn't enjoy the maze runner, but everyone around me LOVED it.
It's okay. We accept you for who you are.
Same. Maze Runner and Enders Game or whatever it was.
Agreed. I was 100 pages into Maze Runner and had to let it go. I hate not knowing anything when I'm 1/3 of the book in.
I liked the first book but hated the rest. Especially the ending.
Omylanta! There are no words to describe how much I heart you guys! BRILLIANT! Hahaha Y'all need to star in more Booknerd Problem Mondays ;)
Well, this is as good a place as any. I...I...I'm not a fan of Tiger Lily. I couldn't get past the first few pages.
...backs slowly away...
We feel you! That book is a slower read and it does take a while to get into it. At least you gave it a try!
Nooo! It's such an amazing book! The end made me cry like a baby! You should give it another try! It's sooo worth it!
Divergent **digs hole to hide in**
BFF: OMG read Carry On it's great it's romantic 5/5
Me: ... this was supposed to be great? 1.5/5
BFF: THE ROMANCE IS PERFECT
Me: THE ROMANCE IS CONTRIVED
several hours later
Me: You know what, screw it.
Sophie the Jedi Knight lol I agree I didn’t really like carry on.
Bethany and I have never really argued like this I mean like she is like I think whatever caused this to happen in the book, but this is definitely me and Tamara about the maze runner. You guys are so funny and awesome.:)
I didn't like Pride and Prejudice. I tried reading it twice, but never got past the first six chapters.
Helena Alexandria
I wasn't a huge fan of that one either but I liked the other Jane Austen books
Lol omg I just had this problem today. Except it was with my husband.....very awkward lol
I absolutely hate the Shadow Falls series. I hate it with the depths of my soul.
Since we're all confessing which books we hated, I didn't really like Heaven Is For Real. I dunno, it didn't really stick to me, maybe I should pick it up again and give it another whirl.
I hate when that happens.
NO NO NO THEY CAN'T!!
I think I was the only person who read 'Throne of Glass' and went...Huh??
***runs and hides***
Glad to know that I am not alone!
I'm just not a fan of those books either. Everyone LOVES them and I just... don't...
I agree with ***** ! Calaena was super annoying. And there is all this talk about her being the greatest assassin and she doesn't once prove it!
THANK YOU! I started to feel I was the only one who disliked this book. I made it to 3/4 of it and just could not continue.
i didnt liked too
i kind feel bad about it. seems like everyone loves it.
The ending made me sad
I didn't really like paper town. *slowly walks away from crazy fan gurls*
me too
OMG, me too!! I stopped hallway through because it felt boring and senseless and even though I love John Green's books I felt it was a bit repitive. TFIOS was okay but WAY over hyped. *slowly backs away into a dark corner away from angry mob of fangirls/boys*
Lmao, paper towns was pure chaotic
I loved the Allegiant ending.... *hides under the bed*
Could NOT get into Uglies
me too
I know! I feel so bad every time I see it on my shelf unfinished.
Lol
I thought it was pretty good :3 Read the entire series except from Extras, which I don't consider a real sequel :P
50 Shades of Grey. My BFF (who is also my book BFF), LOVES it. I... not so much?
We just avoid the subject, but I kind of feel a little guilty, so I bought her the trilogy (on paperback, of course) because she read it in pdf. I feel a lot better now.
Awesome video! This was uploaded on my birthday :D
I didn't like Eleanor and Park *hides face with metal shield*
I love Waterfire Saga and The Selection series, but my bff's don't like books so...😱😢
I hated The 5th Wave
There's no accounting for taste
I've always hated TFiOS but all my friends seemed to love it. I also had people who don't usually read books read it so they would look "cool". Ugh.
So accurate!
Ok this one made me chuckle pretty good with how dramatic it is, yet I'm sure that's how it feels like.
gosh the feels
I didn't like shiver, but it's one of my bff's favorite books.
I just can't get through We were liars I mean it frustrates me to no end that I can't trust what she is saying to me
I don't like the Divergent Series that much ( first book was good but the series went downhill for me) but my best friend loves it so much.
We always have fights on who is better, Tobias Eaton or Percy Jackson.
Is that even a question! I'm sorry but Percy is so much better. Not even debatable.
Claire K. that is what I tell her!
areadersworld Percy (duh)
Chloe Ratte PERCY FOR LIFE
Exactly
More like when you disagree when anyone hates on your favorite book.
I didn't like The Fault in Ours Stars all that much. Don't hate me!
It was kinda meh for me, however I did enjoy reading it. :)
Pfft it kinda sucked
i hate anna and the friendship! or whatever it is! and my bff love it! idk it's just so boring
It's not that I didn't like it but... I'm not a huge fan of the Fault in our Stars.........
*coughs* and I have a crush on my book BFF who loves it. So... I mean... I can learn to fall for it like he has, right? *winces*
my bff (who's also my book bff) loves the divergent. I hate it. It didn't ruin our friendship. I thought everybody can have their opinion...?
My friend and I constantly disagree on THGs trilogy, i love it so much she says its an unhealthytl obsession and she basically hates it
what type of company do you work at? theres books around you and it looks like a dream job
oh god, this is so sad
What was the music in the background as you walked away with your arms streched out?
A song from Augio Jungle called A Sad Farewell.
Where is this place? I want to come and read all the books!!
This has happened to me before!
Here’s a real problem: when you don’t have anyone to agree or disagree on a book with because the majority of your friends are not bibliophiles.
I honestly don't like the Divergent series that much... I read the first but could not finish the second. Sorry!
I'm not going to lie the 2nd one was a bit boring...the 3rd gets better though.
I loved the 1st and the 2nd but not the 3rd. I also ADORED The Hunger Games but didn't like Mockingjay that much.
Tiotsa Mockingjay is a little bit boring. And so many favourit charactera dies. :( I really love THG. My fave is the second book.♥ But I don't really like Mockingjay too. :/
Lili Horváth
The Hunger Games is amazing but I didn't really care for Mockingjay either. So many of the deaths were unnecessary!
Book confession, I did not like We Were Liars at all.
I didn't enjoy We Were Liars. Also, I did slightly like My Life Next Door but nowhere near as much as everyone else.
Catching Fire and Mockingjay were one of my biggest disappointments, i hated both of them
That was sooo funny and good !!!!
I hated hush hush series after reading 1 or so chapters, didn't get past Fallen and insurgent and allegiant completely bored me out of my mind.
STAUPH...you guys are too funny! :D LMAO
Also, the comments are now flowing with "I HATE [Insert book title]. Way to promote books, guys. lol
Beautiful Disaster! OMG I hated that book so much and my book bff loved it and we stopped talking for weeks because we always bring reasons of why I hated it and why she loved it and yes it's awful
Same!! I couldn't stand either of the main characters
Emma. My best friend loved the book and movie, but tried reading it twice but failed. I guess I'm not really into the romantic genre.
Everyone's doing confession..here's mine
I didn't like Obsidian...
haha that would be me and my friend about Mockingjay XD
i actually enjoyed it while well you can guess it she hated it haha
I love Unwind
The fault in our stars. For god's sake! My sister doesn't even like the fault in our stars. How indecent of that effing fox. She's no better than monica.
I didn't really like the Raven Boys. I couldn't even get through the first couple of pages. But, I'll probably force myself to read it.
+Maureen Kelly I didn't either at first, but now I'm almost halfway done and loving it!
Which book are they arguing about? I didn't catch the title
I think they meant books in general. Not a particular one.
Twilight and harry potter - we fight all the time!
I hated 'The Night Circus'
So true
Oh this is soo sad.
I didn't like The Girl of Fire & Thorns. I found it a bit ridiculous.
I totally hated Shatter Me. I could barely finish it and I skipped like 30% of the book. I also think Divergent is a little overrated. It's not bad. But it's not that good either
umm...I have a confession.
me and my book BFF like all the same books XD
WE disagree on characters. >.> Indept book nerd problems.
HAHAHA, my life. I AM always the one who hates the book :p
I really disliked the Delirium trilogy..... *runs and hides forever*
No body kill me but I hated divergent.
Same! Finally someone else! I didn't read the rest of the series after that, and I got spoiled on the ending of the last book...
I'm just gonna put it out there *deep breath* I don't like....The Mortal Instruments. I tried the first book but could only get about 100 pages in
I stopped at 100 pages too lol. It was so boring. Apparently her other series is supposed to be a lot better
Ive thought about trying it, just never have. Good to know Im not the only one who couldnt get into the books
Ive bought more than one book in a series before and not liked the first one enough to continue. It takes a mistake to learn never to do it again
The maze runners writing style makes me cringe but I love the story so I'm continuing with the series lol
I hated the Divergent series, and The Fault in Our Stars.
I did not like 50 Shades of Grey! I could not finish it.
the divergent series, the first book was good but I hated the last two.... please don't hate me...
I didn't even finish the divergent. was boring and didn't catch my attention
Agreed
I didn't like Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.
**hides in bookfort** Sorry! Please don't hate me!
My fiance loved that book. I am just so surprised to see someone who knows it.
its becoming more and more popular and it seems I'm the only one who wasn't a fan!
wow me too I hated so much
Neil Gaiman =American Gods. Half the people in my book group refused to read it.
I dont have a book BFF :(
I don't really like the TMI series TFIOS and the Murder Complex is sort of annoying.
I wasn't a fan of Angelfall. It kind of creeped me out :/
That's sad. TBH, it creeped me out too but I really liked it despite that. And I'm not an fan of horror/ creepy.
I actually loved that book, but it was kind of weird to read at first.
