I think most people once again are upset about the fact that it lost what made it special. It lost it's niche. And that doesn't sit well with most people because why have this when you can drive an is7 or is4 or vz55 or even the bz 75 with the 130mm.
Droodles I encountered you and batchat in skirmish mode today where you both instantly died in your jagtigers. I almost carried the team in my chimera but I couldn't pen their t95.
Also my issue with the armor has always been that - yes it is REALLY strong frontally, but if ppl have shots on any part of your side or rear it is massive and easy to pen (also those corner cutouts on the front of the hull are prominent) Its just such a massive profile, 8 deg of gun depression doesnt even feel like 8 on most other tanks. I like the Tungsten + higher alpha better so you could poke less often and do more
If you believe it or not Doodles Only one change made this tank feels very bad. Standard APCR shells with poor shell velocity and average penetration makes it bounce or miss moving enemies above 150 millimeter away. If it's APCR as standard shell in tier 10 heavy, it's penetration should be at least above 280. Or above 1000 shell velocity. Also APCR looses penetration over distance.
its basically a VK90 but a french tank with a reverse speed advantage. tho the VK90 is a bit stronger with its side scraping capability and almost impervious turret armor.
I think it's fair to say that it wasn't a harsh nerf everything considered but it changed the AMX from a fun, different vehicle into another generic 130 mm tank on a worse platform than e.g. the IS-7. The AP shells and the higher alpha made this tank interesting and worth playing. Now it's the same boring APCR/HEAT combo with the same alpha damage but better DPM. Who cares about that? The platform is strictly worse because it's big as a barn so I sold it and won't play it anymore. WG really kills all diversity in this game ngl
I always thought this tank was a super heavy due to its fantastic armour I always struggled to penetrate it front on with APCR shells until I saw how mobile it was 😮
The tank got "nerfed" by way of them changing what I liked most about it. It STILL has TERRIBLE accuracy and gun handling - but worse pen cause APCR standard, and 30 less alpha on AP - Tungsten pretty much guaranteed a ~540+ roll, IMO it is just boring now
Yeah this tank is good,there were times that i missed a lot of shots.and on a 1v1 i missed my winning shot and ofcourse i got killed by a light tank so its a good tank.
Like why TF wouldnt I take the Vz.55 over this? It has far better accuracy and aimtime - higher alpha, and also really good armor + stabilization. IS7 accuracy is only marginally worse at 0.37 intead of 0.367 - IS7 has tungsten now and better all around armor - its just a better tank IMO. AMX M4 54 is boring AF right now, and I hate APCR as standard
I finding that most of the collector tanks arent serving me well. I had a Caro and sold it, AMX 30 and sold it too-It WAS a pretty fun tank to be fair...but i dunno gonna sell this and finally upgrade to the BZ 75! Ps the 68 is a super performer I can donk on most anything with it!
Well i got to be honest! Its the most shity gun i ve ever experienced! And i mean real crap! Plus the armor frontally not that strong since u got those two little cuts on your wheels! As much as i want to give it a second chance, i regret buying it!
