I don't have a top 10... I collect and edc mostly folding knives... but I did purchase a Böker Vigtig vs Wild and it is definitely getting tons of pocket time... great collection.
Nothing wrong with 1095 if you take a few seconds to maintain it. Half the blades that I've accumulated over the last 50 years are in 1095 or a close variation, love the new steels, especially magnacut (my favorite so far), but 1095 is a classic for a reason. It's the Timex of knife steels, takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. My best knife of 2024 has once again been the Creely Mako in magnacut, just love this weird little blade with it's humming bird grip and it's pocket sheath. Second would be the Tkell Bushman in AEB-L, great every day scout carry with the discreet concepts clips for the beater tasks that are too heavy for the Mako. Usually have both on me for every day chores on a small ranch in the 4 corners.
@@npenick66 the timex of steels! That may be the best thing I have heard in a long time! Also great choices, I really want to try a Mako at some point! Cheers!
Magnacut is overrated. I've actually chipped the edge on a "Major Brand" magnacut blade where my 3V counterpart has worked flawlessly for several years.
@@roostershooter76 I think everything has its place. I have chipped and rolled major brand 3v but I still love 3v! For big choppers or super thin edges 3v is still king but can still fail. Magnacut to me is awesome simply because it’s a good all around steel and nearly completely stainless! It’s always wet where I am, so I love that attribute of it! If I moved a few states west magnacut would lose its charm completely lol no humidity and little rain 🌧️ cheers!
@@Theoutdooranalyst I live in Kentucky in the "Fishbowl of the Ohio River Valley" and I still think Magnacut is just another "Fad Steel". It doesn't cost anymore to produce than 3v or even S30V, but everyone charges 2 times the cost and sometimes 3 times for the same blade design. Again, I have gutted Elk, deer, duck, and squirrels with a 3v blade, and left the blood on the blade for several days before cleaning. It has never rusted. To each his own. I understand the "desire" for some people to want magnacut, but it's not "needed".
Watching from Queensland Australia
Nice collection and video, it’s been a good year for knives
