I have one for you. Our Transit van was running bad. There was a recall (CSP) due to water entering the engine air filter box that was expired by the time we bought the van, so we paid for it. The tech at the dealership said the filter was soaked and falling apart, so he replaced it and the MAP sensor was clogged with paper from the filter (??). Not right away, but the van ran bad after that. Back again, the tech at the dealership said it needed a turbo ($3K). Second diagnosis by a 'Master Tech' at a different dealer also said it needed a turbo. All they looked at were codes. So, I took a look at it. The charge air cooler (intercooler) was completely stuffed solid with bits of filter shredded by the turbo. The cold side of the turbo also had damage. Neither dealer will help us out and won't admit I am correct. Ford customer service and Ford Pro says work it out with the dealers. The dealers won't even refund the cost of the incorrect diagnosis. Do you think they should? Three of the pros missed it and I don't know what I am doing and it took me an hour to figure it out. Go figure.

Sodium batteries are going to be cool(They are amping up for commercial production )in that regard. Problem is they will be 3x heavier(not as dense either) and not practical to use in vehicles. Interesting technology you should look into it but still wont save evs at this point.
I'll stick to gasoline as of now. I genuinely don't feel safe with EVs. I'm all for new technologies, once they build EVs proven to holdup and have enough infrastructure then I'll switch.
@@b469bMaybe hybrids will be most cars on the road soon. There's no way we're going fully electric anytime soon. Too many recalls and EVs that just won't sell.
I've no idea how anyone lives in snow. Where I live in Australia we still surf and sail in winter. Need a wetsuit, but that's it. Skiing is Fun, but living in it? Oof. Yes it will affect the car market, look at Michigan, their entire economy is the auto industry and many of their car parts are from Canada or cars altogether. Ontario has already vowed to cut off energy exports to Michigan if Trump goes ahead with tariffs, that will affect many auto plants in northern states and strain the power grid making electricity more expensive meaning that it will cost more for auto plants to operate. GM, Ford, and Chrysler all have many plants in Canada and Mexico, America can’t afford to lose these companies. Trump says he “doesn’t care” if Ontario cuts power, but he will ones auto plants in the US start layoffs. Tariffs don’t benefit anybody, it may be good on paper but not in practice.
Gas in Ontario Canada is $145.9 a LITRE! The Ontario Government says that if Mr Trump's 25% tariff is put in place Canada will stop supplying electricity to the USA.
Glad I live in Hawaii, thank you Scotty for all your automotive wisdom even though I don’t agree with your analysis on Tesla. But love your old school experience. God bless!
Just Keep in mind… Those Same Countries that we buy our goods from, TARIFF the Absolute HeII OUT of what the United States produces! Yet, the US Doesn’t Tariff Them!!! It’s Only Leveling the playing field. That’s Also WHY So Many companies Don’t Manufacture in the US Anymore!!! Tariffs are Definitely a Double Edged sword.
The price of food for Americans is going to go up fruits and vegetables. Not to mention, gasoline is going to go up for Americans since Canada provides America with a lot of energy

Could you take I84 to I86 to Erie,Pa? Would it be shorter or a road trip to see Buffalo, NY.
Even if the tariffs do make things cost more and manufacturing comes here, saleries in the US will bring prices even higher.
I have never in my lifetime but anything from Mexico that was worth having okay maybe another belt made by poncho pushing a cart

Gas in Ontario Canada is $145.9 a LITRE! The Ontario Government says that if Mr Trump's 25% tariff is put in place Canada will stop supplying electricity to the USA.
Good, more for us, now just get rid of the carbon tax and gas prices will go down to about $1.20L
Just Ontario why don't you research before you state things
Gas is $2.90 in northern NJ

Scotty what are your thoughts on the chinese BYD Shark 6 plug in hybrid truck?
They can simply avoid tariffs by manufacturing what they sell in America. The cheap labor hasn't helped the consumer in any way.

Blue no matter who! SMH!
Agree on the carbon credits and that it will be a fascinating 4 years. Cheers!
I see a hockey skate in the trunk
The price of food for Americans is going to go up fruits and vegetables. Not to mention, gasoline is going to go up for Americans since Canada provides America with a lot of energy
So many people here who should have for president they know it all.
