S3 EP44 | Lockdown in South Africa | Sailing Pluto

This video took forever to edit - not because of the footage per se (a lot of handheld shakiness) but because I am not sure how to feel about what is currently going on. Do we keep quiet? Do we talk about it? Do we voice our opinion about it publicly? The world has been put on halt. For now.
Our situation in South Africa is a sensitive one. I have edited this video more than once. This morning I decided to stick with what I have done and just add a small clip at the start. At the end of the day, the footage and story is what it is. We realise we are fortunate. We have a comfortable home, we have food. We are okay. And that is a burden to carry in a time and country where the majority is not so fortunate.
Lockdown in South Africa started on 27 March 2020. On 9 April a two-week extension on the original 21 days was announced. Thoughts go out to everyone out there. I hate feeling helpless. But for now, we are sitting it out like everyone else.

Thanks for providing us with some entertainment during this time. You would not believe how quiet the Knysna lagoon is. Even on the warm windless days, there is no movement or boat activities. So sad seeing it like this. All the best and keep safe!

Wow 😱 the whole thing and footage in the city fell so surreal like a bad horror movie.

BTW: All the countries that waited too long to impose a lockdown; are paying a stiff price in human lives and financially as well... SA did the right thing by doing it early, trust me !
Here in Arabia, I have been working from home 4 weeks now. I wish i was on my boat in SA or our beach house, not in the desert.
Like everything in life, this will pass too... 🙏😔

We have our ups and downs. Mostly staying busy and getting to stuff we would normally not have time for. There is nothing else to do but wait it out. Frustration is valid, but not helpful. It must be tough for you - nature would definitely have helped. Good luck and will make the next one less dramatic 😊😂
