@ravenplus Oh, wow, you're right! How embarrassing that I made that mistake, haha, thank you very much for catching it, well done! Aiming to have a playthrough of mission 3 by the end of this month.
Picked up my copy last weekend. I've had four plays of the first mission with only three objectives completed the first time and five on the second. One play competitive against my son and once with a group of friends. They loved it.
@darrensmith8487 How was competitive (I imagine very fun)? I have played solo maybe a dozen times now, and co-op at 2 twice (with different people). Fun challenge either way, having a great time with it! I've done well on the first three missions but the fourth one is giving me a hard time. I'll crack it eventually!
@@table_for_one competitive was great. It was a four player game so we really got into each other's way. Movement was important just to get to tiles that hadn't dried up. Being ahead on the ingenuity track can really help since you can get to a depth where no one else can go and your sonar actions don't help the other players as much. Those deep tiles feel special since you don't get to see them as much.
@darrensmith8487 That sounds great! Interesting dynamic around moving your vessels deeper than your opponents can travel. I haven't made it down to a depth 5 zone yet, but it will be super satisfying when I get there!
@@table_for_one It's one of the surprising parts of the variability. Even though there is a small number of tiles at each level, you don't see the lower ones very often. It sure makes them feel special.
@darrensmith8487 It's kind of funny--I'm already aware that at the shallowest depths I've started to have favorites among the tiles because I've figured out how to use them well. Looking forward to eventually doing the same down in the dark zones of the deep sea!
This game, Unconscious Mind, and Andromeda's Edge have caught my attention recently so glad to see another play through of this. So you've been playing this pretty regularly recently, I take it?
@corey3145 I haven’t played Unconscious Mind or Andromeda’s Edge (though AE has been recommended to me, and I enjoy Cryo by the same designer), so I’d be curious to get your thoughts on those if you try them. EDS is awesome (in my opinion, specifically solo). I suspect this will be in my list of favorite games (with Voidfall, Terraforming Mars, and Spirit Island, among others). I have received a ton of new games lately, but EDS has remained in heavy rotation. Lot’s of chatter online about solo being too difficult, but I haven’t had that experience. After 2-3 games I felt like I had it mostly under control, though it is still a challenge. The exploration theme is strong; very fun!
@table_for_one I'm always curious to what content creates or others who get new games regularly end up playing themselves a lot and how often they go back to older games. I'm currently in the middle of a Spirit Island kick after a run of Voidfall, Distilled, and Apiary. Thx for the response!
@corey3145 Haha well I'm in a little bit of a bottleneck situation where all the games I ordered are arriving in a very short period of time--I'm buried! But my pace of orders has significantly slowed (and I'm running out of space), so my intent is to stabilize my game collection at roughly this size and then implement a 1-in-1-out policy. I think 2024 has been a year of expansion in my collection--which you can see from all the unboxings--which has been fun but is now coming to a conclusion. 2025 on this channel will be a lot of playthroughs of all the games I unboxed this year.
@7onyga I am only one person, but in my opinion this will be one of my favorite games for a very long time. It’s pretty simple to teach and setup, has an interesting decision space, and is fun to play but tough to play well. I personally love the solo and co-op modes. Haven’t tried competitive yet (least important to me). I’m sure you can buy a like-new copy at a discount, or I think it’s in retail now (or will be very soon), so getting a copy shouldn’t be tough. Can always wait and see how you feel later-it’ll be just as fun then! I have another solo playthrough posted as well if you want to check out both of the first 2 missions.
@7onyga Makes sense. The deluxe version has many cosmetic upgrades, but the most important changes (in my opinion) are the 3 mini-expansion tiles and the 5th player components.
Haven’t finished watching yet because I have to get ready for something 🙂 but did you know that the person who places the Robotic Wanderer zone can place the Wanderer on _any_ tile to start (except ones that don’t allow vessels, like the caves)? 👍🏻
@melibabe Oh my goodness, you're right! Thank you for that clarification! I don't know that I would have played it much differently in this particular playthrough, but that's super helpful to remember going forward. Much appreciated!
51:00 Goal 3 is per "zone" in depth 2 3 4, imo you only got 3 "zone".
looking for your next playthrough :D

Great video's! Keep up the good work 👌! Greetings from Amsterdam from another content creator ☺!

Nice. I was waiting for this video
