This was a great day! When we sailed our very first cruise on the Carnival Miracle in 2009, we had to take our life vests to our Muster station on the deck! I do not miss it! LOL! Great premiere! It's always fun chatting while watching!
Trains are great. I lived in South Korea for 6 years and really appreciated the excellent public transportation options including the high speed rail KTX, express buses and the excellent Seoul subway system (one of the best in the world). Being from the US where our public transit options aren’t so great, taking it in other countries can be intimidating, but once you take the plunge, the are pretty easy to use as well as affordable. Great first video and looking forward to more!
I watch a lot of cruise bloggers and wondered how Americans would cope with formality of P&O and there ships. Glad you’ve adjusted. Yes we ( in England) do proper muster drills. That red and white boat Red Funnel serves the Island I live on and you sailed by.... Loved the video as always....👍

sounds like a really civilized way to embark the ship...love this idea. Calms down the 'gate crashers' that we always see in the warm weather terminals ;)

I never thought I'd hear the P&O embarkation procedure described in such glowing terms! - I'm afraid a lot of P&O regulars are very critical (of lots of things....). Interesting comment about the muster drill, also.
Hi there! We LOVED how P&O did check-in and muster. P&O regulars don't know how good they have it. Our check in procedures aren't nearly as fluid and our muster drills take much much longer to complete and we don't even use life vests. So wild! Absolutely adored everything about P&O! stef in case you didn't know those red funnel ferry's you saw go to the Isle of Wight which is the island on starboard (right) side of the ship there is also the Wight link ferry's that go to the same place plus the hovercrafts if you get lucky to see one
Hi Sean and Stef. Great intro to Ventura . As a matter of interest to you guys if you didn't already know. As you entered southampton alot of the older hotels you passed a minute away from Ocean terminal were the venues that passengers waiting embarkation aboard the ill fated Titanic stayed. Ocean terminal where Ventura was along side as you boarded was directly beside feet away where Titanic was berthed. In older photos of Titanic you can still see the metal quay side bollards where she tied up. Hope that wasnt to boring a fact. Looking forward to your next episode. T

I think they keep the passports as alas, some passengers don't get back in time on excursion days, and with a schedule to keep, the ship won't wait. By having all passports, they then hand whoever hasn't returned to the port authoritys at that island, so the passenger can then get home or travel to next destination to meet the ships next stop. Hi there! We really wanted to see Europe in April. This way we could see the Tulips bloom in Amsterdam as well as have snow on top of the mountains in the Norwegian fjords.
We had to wear our life jackets during the muster drill on our first cruise aboard the Regal Princess in 2016. I thought it was the norm, then I went on other cruises and haven’t done it since that first cruise🤔

Sean & Stef the reason why they make you take your life jackets with you to muster here in the uk ports it applies to every ship that sails from all UK ports because of our health and safety laws and regulations as they are very hot on health and safety here there is no relaxing of the laws and no excuses not even to cruise ships, I know you wouldn't think it would apply to cruise ships because they have their own but because of being in the uk plus being a British ship they have to follow the laws
Hi there, no it's not. The Tube is the Subway and the trains are typical above ground train transit. The waterloo station does have access to both the train and the Underground. It's all very easy, automated ticket machines everywhere and super fast. Thanks for watching!
Sean and Stef yes I was on then! I was working from the 4th of April until the 23rd and I’m back onboard on the 14th of July until the 4th of August. Doing 2 weeks on Azura before that! I work in the Reef. Splashers and surfers are the rooms I tend to work in! 😊😊 I only work seasonally as I have a job back home at land in a school so spent my holidays on ships :)

Is the train the same as the "tube" underground? Morgan's Very Unofficial Travel Guides just posted video explaining how to ride the tube.
