This is a nice alternative to the standard everyday "Monkey's Fist" heaving line, you see getting thrown around the docks and piers. It would certainly catch the eye of an alert sailor or longshoreman. Thanks for sharing Mikko.
You make knotting look so easy ,all the knots you tie are just amazing. I just keep trying maybe one day I hope to tie without having to rewatch your videos time after time Thanks for posting all your awesome videos

Dumb question, but does fathom have the same definition in the States as in Europe? I tried with 6 feet and it left me a touch short (though it's entirely possible I'm messing up somewhere).
As measurement, I use MY fathom, which is very close to fathom of medium size person (about 175 cm). There are too many variables to give exact length. Start with some extra length and make a note for yourself. Official fathom is 6 ft or 1,83m.
I've found that if you make the Carrick knot (which makes a 3 l X 4b Turks head) there is a way that you can extend it to make a 3l X 10 b Turks head if you then make a Spanish ring knot using both cords in succssing and then doubble the knot you can make a nice braclet
If you make this knot with two cords instead of one with out the Matt walkers and then when you're finished if you remove one cord leaving the other intact you will end up with a Spanish ring knot so this knot is made with two Spanish ring knots
@@mikkosnellman no worries if you can disable the auto focus function then set a focal point so as long as you stay close to that point it should be reasonably sharp good luck

Do you Remember "The Graduate" the movie, I used to make those, and have a tossal coming out the center and sell them the prostitutes so they could do the table dance. $50 a pair.

I'm always amazed by your knotting...you're like the walking talking version of Mr. Ashley's Book. Very enjoyable Mikko, thanks!

Thx for that. Nice to tie and relaxed

Nice . 👌
Love your projects (and your workshop!) - please lose the music :-)
Sorry, can not do that, I love Martins music...
@@mikkosnellman How about compromise and turn it down a little so we can hear you 😃
@@kathrynkemp1101 That I can do. Though the music is more beautiful than my babble :)

Wish i could know what you forgotten ..thank you...
This knot is best tied with two cords of different colours
vERY NICE.
Is it my eyes or is the autofocus shifting bothersome I can't watch this sorry.
Sorry about that, would be better if I had the funds for a real camera.

Dump the music it drowns out your voice makes it hard to hear...

Could be interesting but that irritating, pointless guitar virtually drowned out his voice so I won't be watching any more.
Some of us enjoy the music more than my poor English 😉
@@mikkosnellman Very gracious in your reply.
