Hi Christina, great question, when I made this video I would print the shipping labels on a printer but as of now things have changed and all you need to do is go to your shipping carrier like post office and show them the QR code and they will print the shipping label for free. Then they will attach it to your package 📦. I hope this response is helpful to you. Glad to answer any questions I can.

Hi Kristal, thank you for your sweet comment and such a great question. So you can definitely just drop off the package in a Dropbox ONLY if you already have the shipping label on the package. If not, fedex and usps prints it for you when you scan your QR code at their front desk, then they will print it for you, tape it on the package and your good to go. By the way the QR code is available on mercari once you have sold the item. I hope this helps, feel free to ask me anything else. :)
Question. I'm legally blind so a cell phone is too small for me. I tried to set up a Mercari account but couldn't get the verification code with no cell phone. It says on Mercari that you can request a code through your email instead. But where do you go to request that? I can't find it anywhere.

Yes, that is correct. Once the buyer receives the item, they will have 3 days to rate you. If after the 3rd day they do not rate you, mercari will automatically give you a 5 star rating and complete the transaction.

I listed a 3 lb and under DVD and selected UPS ground and it was $12.30 for shipping with buyer paying shipping (which hurts my ability to sell at a higher price). I then changed it to I cover shipping and it's free shipping for the buyer. Is there a happy medium? Have you had this problem?
Is there a weight limit or size on items to sell? Like 50lb. weight plates? Or a bicycle? Where would you get a bigger scale? Is there a drop off center like ebay has that will sell your items for you for a percentage if you don't have time to sell it yourself?
I believe weight limit is 150 lbs anything over that will have a extra fee charge. Mercari also has select cities where if you choose the shipping option “mercari local” your item can be picked up as is without packaging and mercari associate with come and pick it up from you no contact needed. You can place item on lawn or porch, or hand it to them. And they will deliver it to the buyer directly. This option is great if your item is too heavy to ship. Like a bike, sofa. Hope this helps answer your questions.
I haven’t had to use mercari local, I think because all of my items have been pretty small so I ship myself since it’s cheaper. Mercari local size requirements are that your item has to be under 50lbs and fit in a car trunk. I believe mercari partnered with Uber so perhaps they will accept a tip. I don’t see why that wouldn’t be allowed. That’s very generous of you!

Hello :) thank you very much. So up until this year 2022, the irs didn’t come into play. Starting this year all Mercari sellers with $600 or more gross sales are required to submit a W-9 form. Once you hit the $600 mark, you automatically get sent a W-9 form on your mercari account. So if you only made $10 this year, you won’t have to worry bout that. Hope this helped!🙌🏽
Maybe try reposting your items and adjust the prices if too high. I have also found that bundling items together sells fast. As well as improving the pictures especially the main thumbnail picture. Hope this helps!
What if you have to use a box? I noticed you didn't enter its size only its weight. If you use a box should you enter its size or just weight? Why does it say optional?

@@orobriela I thought it was a women's long sleeve jersey but then I thought I'm an old lady and maybe the definition of sweatshirt has been changed and I just wasn't aware of it. Sweatshirt material is (was?) usually thick and worn for warmth, sometimes had hoods and sometimes not. But, then I thought with all this new moisture wicking material on the market these days maybe it is all under the category of sweatshirt. I don't know.

You no longer need a printer. The carrier like post office/fedex will print for free. Just show them the QR code and they will scan it. I actually got rid of my printer just yesterday 🙌🏽

Not at the moment, you could though go on that buyers page and if they have an item for sale, click on it and there should be an option to direct message them about the item. Then now you can message them privately and come to an agreement on an offer. And once you come to a price agreement (for example $10) I then go and change the price manually to $10, they will then buy it immediately so others don’t buy it. You can even edit the item title as “RESERVED FOR______” It has worked for me in the past. Hope this helped.
Hello Marcelo, great question! You can’t direct deposit your funds until the buyer receives the package, rates you and you rate them back. Direct deposit also costs $2. You can also deposit at no cost but can take a couple more days to reach your bank account

question, i just made my first sale and printed out the label and it says the weight is 15.9 oz. the actual package is like 10oz so does it just say that so it’s under 1lb? like will i run into any problems with shipping if it says 15.9oz when it’s less then that? thank you in advance
Hi there :) I’m glad you asked. That’s correct, the label will say 15.9 oz for all items sold under 1lb. It’s just to round up, don’t worry that will not be a shipping issue.

Hi good question, you don’t have to but it’s definitely good to know the weight of the item you are trying to sell in order to choose the correct shipping option. I got charged $6 extra dollars for an item I shipped that was over the weight limit.

If not Mercari does have a help option from their account where you can speak to a representative through messages on the Mercari account. Ask them to please send you the shipping label they should respond quickly too. I have spoken to them through messages and they were always very helpful

Hi Linsey, that’s a great question! So once you get the notification that the package you sold has been delivered to the buyer. The buyer then has 3 days to rate you. If they don’t rate you at all, by the 3rd day Mercari will give you an automatic rating of 5 stars and that completes the order you then get paid.
Hi, so you do not need a credit card in order to get paid. I started selling items and didn’t add my credit card info until later on when I finally wanted to transfer my money to my back account.
No, i have never heard of that. I wouldn’t do it. You don’t need to get anything to get your payment besides rate the buyer back once they have received their package
Wait I just thought about it, I think what they mean is you need a bank account info and card in order to transfer the money to your bank account after you’ve been payed. Which is correct and what I have done.

Is there a way to send offers to an individual buyer with out sending it to everyone ? If so how ?
Not at the moment, you could though go on that buyers page and if they have an item for sale, click on it and there should be an option to direct message them about the item. Then now you can message them privately and come to an agreement on an offer. And once you come to a price agreement (for example $10) I then go and change the price manually to $10, they will then buy it immediately so others don’t buy it. You can even edit the item title as “RESERVED FOR______”
It has worked for me in the past. Hope this helped.

Hello Marcelo, great question! You can’t direct deposit your funds until the buyer receives the package, rates you and you rate them back. Direct deposit also costs $2. You can also deposit at no cost but can take a couple more days to reach your bank account
@@orobriela so if they never rate you, mercari will automatically process your funds within 3 days regardless right ?

question, i just made my first sale and printed out the label and it says the weight is 15.9 oz. the actual package is like 10oz so does it just say that so it’s under 1lb? like will i run into any problems with shipping if it says 15.9oz when it’s less then that? thank you in advance
Hi there :) I’m glad you asked. That’s correct, the label will say 15.9 oz for all items sold under 1lb. It’s just to round up, don’t worry that will not be a shipping issue.

Hi good question, you don’t have to but it’s definitely good to know the weight of the item you are trying to sell in order to choose the correct shipping option. I got charged $6 extra dollars for an item I shipped that was over the weight limit.

Hello, I’d be happy to help. So If you actually go back to my video to this exact time. @8:22 you’ll see on the screen there’s a button that says view & print. You click on it and it should show the shipping label just as I did in the video.
@@orobriela thank you for your quick response. i dont see that and i did not receive any email from mercari either confirming i made a sale :( all i see on my account is SHIP YOUR ITEM then below that is a button saying CONFIRM SHIPMENT. im so confused. it used to be so easy to do this years ago. somehow it changed.
@@sitay7280 your welcome, the only other thing I can think of is that you might have more emails you could have used. If not Mercari does have a help option from their account where you can speak to a representative through messages on the Mercari account. Ask them to please send you the shipping label they should respond quickly too. I have spoken to them through messages and they were always very helpful
@@orobriela i sent them an email and got a response which is an instruction on how to locate it exactly like what you told me. I think im going to have to relist this item at this point. I dont know whats going on. But thank you so much for your patience and time and help. I really appreciate it.

Hi Carla, thanks for asking. Posting on Mercari is free, they do take a percentage off your sale once it’s sold.

@@rahamanshaik7406 could be, be careful with your information! Mercari never asks you to give any type of info to any person at any time while selling/buying.
After I print the shipping label and put it on the package, I just drop it off at the UPS/Mail office and that’s it?
That’s correct, the next step is to wait. At drop off I do like getting the receipt just in case anything happens to the package while in transit.

Hi Linsey, that’s a great question! So once you get the notification that the package you sold has been delivered to the buyer. The buyer then has 3 days to rate you. If they don’t rate you at all, by the 3rd day Mercari will give you an automatic rating of 5 stars and that completes the order you then get paid.

Hi, so you do not need a credit card in order to get paid. I started selling items and didn’t add my credit card info until later on when I finally wanted to transfer my money to my back account.

No, i have never heard of that. I wouldn’t do it. You don’t need to get anything to get your payment besides rate the buyer back once they have received their package
Wait I just thought about it, I think what they mean is you need a bank account info and card in order to transfer the money to your bank account after you’ve been payed. Which is correct and what I have done.
