Top kid and I personally love his showboat style. But I agree with 💯 no power in those fists, will mean very few knockout’s and most of his bouts will go the distance. Best of luck to him though

Dude this is just his 8th professional match, even his opponent had more pro matches than Whittaker. We normally don't hear about new pros until after there 10th match, he is still learning.
I know, but this guy said he was ready for world level guys.. imagine him against Hutchinson or buatsi.. he would get wrecked.. he is very far off. He is born 1997 not yesterday and has a lot of amateur fights. Its the same with joyce, frazier & chaevon clarke and them guys.. they wont improve a lot anymore after such extensive amateur careers.. if you turn pro 25+ and have boxed for most of your teenage and adult life, significant technical improvement is really rare.
@@davidgates5699 He's not some new 18/19yo pro. He's a 27yo Olympian who has boxed full time since he was a kid all over the world. It's been 3 years as a pro & he's still at area level which is shocking. His Olympics teammates have less hype than him & are somehow further progressed than he is lol. He needs to move faster

I agree he has done well as it must be very hard to succeed in any sport but I formulate my opinion on the answers of the greats and all I have heard them say is judge him when he is fighting elite.

It’s not so much about him as it is about the hype around him. I was surprised he’s 27 with only eight pro fights. Thought he was younger.
I think it's crazy that people say he's found his ceiling and that he has 0 power. If you've ever actually boxed before you'll know it's almost physically impossible to KO someone that just has his hands up in a high guard the entire fight especially someone with long ass arms like Ezra. Ben was still levels above this dude, he just knew he didn't have to KO him so there was no reason for him to even take that risk and unload and risk catching a good shot from Ezra himself.
Also keep in mind Ben hasn't even been a pro for 2 years, yet people are calling for him to fight "real opposition"? Which fighters nowadays fight for international titles let alone anyone with a positive record in their first 10 fights?

Ezra had really good defense, made it difficult to get in a clean shot. Also Ezra does not have much tape out on him, which makes it even harder, because you have to learn everything about this boxer on your own.

Couldnt knock out a novice. A man that started boxing 5 years ago and couldn't stop him. I was gonna put money on rounds 1-2 cos i know ezra and know hes a complete novice. Fsce whittaker went 10, told me everything i need to know. He's got a hell of a lot of work to do and way to go if he wants to do anything in boxing

I wanted the knockout but preferred to tap and run and dance from a nobody boring start showing the killer instinct it’s a boxing not strictly come dancing
Great performance. I would say one of his flaws I noticed in this fight is he doesnt use High Guard even if the opponent is VERY close to him and hes against the ropes. He still relies too much on head movement which is very risky as a habit. He would get clipped if his opponent is a tad bit faster. His shoulder roll also need improvement. When hes gassed out he could rely on it because he has insane reflex like Floyd. Great performance 👏

I watched the full fight and power from Ben was not the issue. The issue is Ben smells the blood in the water but doesn’t follow through to devour his meal.
He’ll get found out once they’re realise he has no power once he starts stepping up fighting the elite fighters
