- Hi, everyone!
This video shows one of many possible ways to install a fishfinder on a kayak :). Exactly what I was looking for: 1 NOT PERMANENT, so neither were there big holes nor glue, puddy, or goo used for this installation. EVERYTHING (fishfinder including base, transducer, battery and all cables) can be completely removed in less than 10 minutes, clean and ready to be installed on another kayak or boat. 2 NO EXTRA KITS NECESSARY, I just used cheap materials I already had at home. 3 WORKS PERFECTLY, tha's the most important thing, agreed?

I have a 176i mounted on my Perception Sport kayak, too. I like the Ocean Kayak transducer well very much. I just duct-taped my transducer against the outer hull below deck, and it is protected and out of sight. Thanks for sharing your video!
Hi, friend, thanks for your reaction. The 176i is a very nice budget class fishfinder. works very well, it's on and working in about 4 seconds, and is very watertight and simple to use. However, if you turn it off, you lose all the gps tracking information you had about the trip. Bummer... Never tried a Perception, unfortunately. And yes, the transducer well in these ultras is great!
