These people that say "Lord, Lord" are trying to get in by their own WORKS! What is the will of God.... to BELIEVE on whom He sent, JESUS! Just like Jesus himself said.... simply believe!

When I was younger I had a dream of the rapture where I was left behind, after that night I begged my mother to let me get baptized. I’ve prayed to God and admitted I knew Jesus was Gods child and our savior and lord. But I am never sure if I’m saved or not by watching all these different videos 😔

A closer look to the verses:
      Matthew 7:21 (KJV)
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the WILL OF MY FATHER which is in heaven.
      John 6:39-40 (KJV)
And THIS IS THE FATHER'S WILL which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
      Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV)
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not PROPHESIED in thy name? and in thy name have CAST OUT DEVILS? and in thy name done MANY WONDERFUL WORKS? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Salvation by faith alone, in Christ alone, by His grace alone.
Death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
Whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
      Eternally secure.
That, is the will of the Father.
      ;)

He's not saying you can lose your salvation, but making two points. One is, were you truly converted or leaning on your own understanding and works? And the other is that the converted can become distracted with comforts and needs and miss the still small voice. Not a single one of us hasn't been there.

Ronnie, I agree with you completely. Jesus was talking about people who think they are believers (because of things they have done or are doing) but in reality have not put their trust in Christ at all. They will list all the things on their resume and will be disappointed to learn they are not in the Book of life. No true believer has to ever worry about being told the Lord does not know them.

@@UnionChurchLH So you agree with Ronnie Woodward , that you are secure in John 6;39-40 , that Matthew 7;21-23 does not apply to true believers ; So who are true believers ? How do you believe Jesus Christ ? How do you put your trust in him ? Do you do it by saying , I believe that you are the Messiah , you died for my sins , I acknowledge you as my Lord and Savior and be baptized in his name ; Or does the Father have to hear you first , then draw you to the Son ? The scriptures say that God the Father must know you first , then draw you to Christ ( John 6;43-45 ) . For the Father to know you , this is required ( Malachi 3;16-18 ) or ( 1st John 1;5-7 ) ; which means that you must believe the word of God and start obeying him , then he draw you to the one who is the atonement for our sins and the one who will complete the instructions given by the Father ( John 17;6-26 ) . Remember , Jesus was the Comforter when he came in the flesh , to do the will of the Father , and this is how you believe the Father and Son ( John 15;9-10 , " As the Father hath loved me , so have I loved you ; continue ye in my love . If ye keep my commandments , ye shall abide in my love ; even as I have kept my Father's commandments , and abide in his love " ) ; which means that you have to keep the same commandments that Jesus was required to keep to be righteous in the Father's eyes . Jesus was talking to the one's whom the Father has drawn to him , and are now cleaned by his blood , not the people of the world . You believe God when you keep his commandments , that is the works of God , as father Abraham did , not just by mouth ( James 2;20 , " But wilt thou know , O vain man , that faith without works is dead " ) . In Matthew 7:21-23 , the Lord will not know them because they have not kept the commandments of God ( INIQUITY means sin , and sin is the transgression of the law ) . Something to think about , remember the God of Israel does not change ( Malachi 3;6 ) , and our Lord Jesus Christ remains the same ( Hebrews 13;8 ) . The covenant that he made with Israel in the wilderness under the mediator Moses , is the same now through the mediator Christ ; the different is that Moses was the mediator of works/flesh , and all that was attached to him was flesh ( mediator , lawgiver , testator , high priest , and priesthood ) ; which could not get your sins forgiven when you violate the laws of God . Jesus is the mediator of heart/spirit , and now all that is attached to him is spirit ( mediator , lawgiver , testator , high priest , and priesthood ) ; which get your sins forgiven because you must live by faith to come under this mediator ; Why ? because he is the Word of God . Shalom !

The problem comes with the English word "believeth". I call it "English believism" or "Demon believism"
James 2:19 "You say there is one God, that's good! Even the demons believe and they tremble."
Obviously John 6:40 is true in the Greek manuscripts, but depending on how you read the English translations, John 6:40 may be not just a little bit, but completely wrong
John 3:16 is the world's most popular verse in the believing world, and it's wrong in the English
Believe in English means "accept (something) as true; feel sure of the truth of." or "hold (something) as an opinion; think or suppose."
In the Greek Manuscripts however, the word believe is called "PISTIS" which means "personification of faith". Quite the difference eh?
I might be smart, but I am not stupid... Matthew 7:21-23 is true (and is more true than other scriptures!)
You really should be translating Acts 16:31 with Matthew 7, and NOT Matthew 7 with John 6:40

The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life. No this pastor is a self righteous hypocrite, he's a wicked sinner himself doesn't offer the hope of the good news only condemnation. Trust in Jesus righteousness not your own righteousness and don't listen to people who don't share the clear gospel. If good works could save us, then Jesus died in vain. We can not save our selves. Repent. Metanoeo. It means change your mind. Meta means change, and noeo means mind. It means quit trusting In what you do to save you, to trusting in what Jesus did to save you.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
The bad news. Romans 3:23 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God, The good news. Jesus came down from heaven to pay our sin debt so that we would not have to go to hell to pay for them. Second Corinthians 5:21 For He hath made Him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
Jesus, just because He loved us, died in our place and took the punishment we deserve so that we would not have to go to hell to pay for our sins.
We have to be perfect to go to heaven, and no one is. But When we believe On Jesus as the only way of salvation, He imputes His perfect righteousness to us without works. Romans 4:6. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputes righteousness without works. Blessed is the man whose sins are covered, blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that HE gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, that WHOSOEVER, BELIEVETH in Him, should not perish, but HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me, will come to me, and all that cometh to me I WILL IN NOWISE CAST OUT. John 6:39 Jesus has never lost one. John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent me, that ALL that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life, and I will raise Him up on the last day.

Yes, faith without works is dead. His works not ours. Romans 4:2 If Abraham were justified by works, he would have something to glory in, but not before God. Abraham believed God, and was justified by faith.
Romans 4:5 But to the one that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. He paid our sin debt so that we can never be condemned again. John 3:18. He is the one that paid the price for all our sins forever, and we did nothing for it so we have nothing to boast in. Romans 11:6 It is all grace, not works. All the good works in the world can not save a sinner which we all are. First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
The gospel. First Corinthians 15:1-4 That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures.
First John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world, but, only those who believe He did it for them are saved.
      Ephesians 1:13 and 4:30. John 10:28-29.
Matthew 7:21-23 Those that are trusting in their own works are not saved. They have never done the will of His Father. John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent me, that all that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

@@jimkraft9445 What was the main reasons Jesus Christ came to the earth in the flesh ? When you answer this question , please do it by scriptures , not by what you believe . If you believe Jesus Christ , he said in John 5;37, " And the Father himself , which hath sent me , hath borne witness of me . Ye have neither heard his voice at any time , nor seen his shape " ; which means that it was not the Father who wrote upon the two tablets of stone ( ten commandments ) in the wilderness , or showed Moses his glory in Exodus 34 . Remember , the Word made the heavens and the earth and everything that is , and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us ; So the Word is the same as Jesus Christ , tree of life , I AM THAT I AM , the God of Abraham , Isaac and Jacob , etc ... . The tree of life was instructing Adam in the garden of Eden how to have eternal life , but man eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil , and was cut off from the tree of life . When you read the scriptures , the promise to bless all nation was to teach the people the words of the Father , so they may have eternal life , for the one's who believe ( Deuteronomy 18;15-19 , " The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee , of thy brethren , like unto me ; unto him ye shall hearken ; According to all that thou desiredest of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly , saying , Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God , neither let me see this great fire any more , that I die not . And the LORD said unto me , They have well spoken that which they have spoken . I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren , like unto thee , and I will put my words in his mouth ; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him . And it shall come to pass , that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name , I will require it of him " ) ; And to be a sin sacrifice , the atonement for the sins of all who believe ( Isaiah 53;1-12 , " Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed ? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant , and as a root out of a dry ground ; he hath no form of comeliness ; and when we shall see him , there is no beauty that we should desire him . He was despised and rejected of men ; a man of sorrows , and acquainted with grief ; and we hid as it were our faces from him ; he was despised , and we esteemed him not . Surely he hath borne our griefs , and carried our sorrows ; yet we did esteem him stricken , smitten of God , and afflicted . But he was wounded for our transgressions , he was bruised for our iniquities ; the chastisement of our peace was upon him ; and with his strips we are healed . All we like sheep have gone astray ; we have turned everyone to his own way ; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all . He was oppressed , and he was afflicted , etc..... Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great , and he shall divide the spoil with the strong ; because he hath poured out his soul unto death ; and he was numbered with the transgressors ; and he bare the sin of many , and made intercession for the transgressors " ) . Jesus Christ came not to do his will , but the will of the Father (John 6;38 ) . When people go to John 6;40 , and say that everyone that believeth on the Son may have eternal life ; what does it mean to believe ? Are you saying that believing is just to acknowledge a fact as being true , or must you take action by obeying the instructions , that the one you believe is telling you the truth ? To believe or abide in Jesus Christ , this is what he is telling you to do ( John 15;9-10 , " As the Father hath loved me , so have I loved you; continue ye in my love . If ye keep my commandments , ye shall abide in my love ; even as I have kept my Father's commandments , and abide in his love " ) ; also ( John 14; 15,21 , " If ye love me , keep my commandments . He that hath my commandments , and keepeth them , he it is that loveth me ; and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father , and I will love him , and will manifest myself to him " ) ; also ( Matthew 7;21-23 , " Not everyone that saith unto me , LORD , LORD , shall enter into the kingdom of heaven ; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven . Many will say to me in that day , LORD , LORD , have we not prophesied in thy name ? and in thy name have cast out devils ? and in thy name done many wonderful works ? And then will I profess unto them . I never knew you ; depart from me , ye that work iniquity " . He tells them that he never knew them because they work iniquity . What is iniquity ? Answer , SIN . What is sin ? Answer ( 1st John 3;4 , " Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law ; for sin is the transgression of the law " ) ; So Jesus Christ tells you to depart from him , because you did not keep the Father's and his commandments ( Deuteronomy 30;10-16 , " If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God , to keep his commandments and statutes which are written in this book of the law , and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart , and with all thy soul . For this commandment which I command thee this day , it is not hidden from thee , neither is if far off . It is not in heaven , that thou shouldest say , Who shall go up for us to heaven , and bring it unto us , that may hear it , and do it ? Neither is it beyond the sea , that thou shouldest say , Who shall go over the sea for us , and bring it unto us , that we may hear it , and do it ? But the word is nigh unto thee , in thy mouth , and in thy heart , that thou mayest do it . See I have set before thee this day life and good , and death and evil ; In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God , to walk in his ways , and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments , that thou mayest live and multiply ; and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it " ) . Finally , ( Revelation 14;12 , " Here is the patience of the saints ; here are they that keep the commandments of God , and the faith of Jesus , also Revelation 22;14 " Blessed are they that do his commandments , that they may have right to the tree of life , and may enter in through the gates into the city " ) ; The city he is talking about is NEW JERUSALEM . Justify means to forgive you or redeem you from the sins you are under ; which requires a sin sacrifice ( blood of Christ ) . The laws of God is what put you in sin , if you do not keep them ; Once you are redeemed from your past sins , you must live like Christ ( 1st John 2;1-7 ) , by keeping the commandments of the Father and Christ to get eternal life ( Matthew 19;16-17 ) . The works in Ephesians 2;9 , is not about keeping the commandments of God , but going through a sin sacrifice ( law of animal sacrifice or law of Moses law or the law of works - under the first mediator ( Moses ) . In Romans 4 , Abraham was not justified ( redeemed or forgiven ) through works ( law of animal sacrifice ) , but by faith ( Ephesians 2;8 , " For by grace ( blood of Christ - free gift ) are ye saved ( forgiven or redeemed from your past sins ) through faith ( Romans 10;17 , " So then faith cometh by hearing , and hearing by the word of God " ) ; which means to believe by repenting or turning away from your sins and obeying your Messiah - Jesus Christ , the mediator of faith , not works ( Moses ) . Shalom !

We're not justified by works of righteousness, but by faith alone in Jesus Christ, 1Cor.15:1-4; Eph.2:8,9. Fall in love with Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is my hope, he's my victory. My works are a mockery, I'm undone, I don't claim to know nothing, except Jesus Christ was crucified on my behalf. I'm confident that he's going to help me and clean me up, my only hope, 1Cor.15:14; Eph.2:8,9.
My boost is in him because he purchased me at the cross. I cling to Jesus Christ, he's my breath, he's my strength, my only hope, not in myself. The evidence is my hope in him, the evidence is that I trust in what Christ had accomplished at the cross for me, a sinner saved by grace. The work is to tell others about his love and grace. God is just putting up with me in my many failures, but he justified me by his cross work, I've become an heir of the kingdom of God.

There are always questions that pop up when this verse is discussed. 1) Were they ever known or did they ever trust the Savior alone for salvation? 2) Did they actually do the works they said they did or were the works fraudulent, insufficient or defective? 3) What does it mean to do the works in the Savior's Name? Is this nothing more than to get up on a stage or pray a prayer that accomplishes the work or rather is this to labor in natural strength or genius or intelligence to accomplish something great for mankind or accumulate wealth used for the Kingdom? 4) Were these works done by supernatural or natural means? By faith alone or rather by muscle sweat & blood or genius of men or heroism? What is THAT DAY? The Great White Throne or the coming of the Messiah? Two striking things about Jesus in this verse. 1) Be did not say He ever knew them. From an eternal perspective can our moment of faith alone in Christ be eternally wiped out of the records even though it was recorded it took place in time? John 6:40 "And this is the will of that sent me, that every one which the , and on , may have everlasting life: and I will raise up at the last day." Is this then not the essential will of the Father for eternal life? I think it is also significant that Jesus did not tell these "Hey you just were not chosen." If you believe in dispensations then is there some dispensational factor in here or rather is this truth timeless? 2) To those that sought justification by these works it does not sound like these works were not authentic. Any one think of a few more questions or observations?

That is exactly what it is saying. Those that trust in their good works to save themselves are not saved. Only those who have trusted Jesus without works. Romans 11:6 Ephesians 2:8-9 True believers have nothing to boast in because we did nothing for our salvation but believe on Him; John 6:47
They were boasting in what they did to save themselves by good works. But good works and keeping Gods laws never saved anybody. We have to be born again Ephesians 1:13 Second Timothy 2:19. We have to believe the gospel. First Corinthians 15:3-4.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved, through FAITH, and that not of yourselves. (we did nothing for it) it is the GIFT of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. True believers have nothing to boast in because Jesus paid it all and we paid 0. it is a free gift from God. Romans 6:23
That is why those in Matthew 7:21-23 were not saved. They boasted in their keeping the law and doing good works, but never did the will of His Father. John 6:40 They thought they could save themselves by what they did, instead of what Jesus did for us. Romans 4:6-8 He imputes His righteousness to us without works, and will no more impute sin to our account.

IF you have been justified by Grace through Faith alone in Christ alone, Sanctification WILL follow. Justification and Sanctification are two SEPARATE things. This is how we test ourselves. Have we changed? Did we notice a sensitivity to sin? Do we see fruit in our lives? Are we growing? When you understand this, Matthew 6 and 7 along with the parables make sense. Re-read the parable of the 10 virgins, the parable of the seed sower, wheat and tares etc.

It's important to discuss and clarify the "you who break God's laws" part... It's simple to understand that he requires us to follow the law. The law is the Torah. When you say "surrender" or "commit"... What are you surrendering or committing to? The original Greek word in this scripture used for "lawlessness" is "anomia", which means "without the Torah". So if you don't follow the Torah, he won't know you.

Everyone sins but *LIVING* in sin is different. You can't just willfully do whatever you want whenever you want for example *(going on a killing spree every other day & think you'll be alright with God)* .
The 1st coming of Christ was to forgive us of our sins, the second coming will be to kill and unleash wrath on those who conform to this world.
Hell is an eternal damnation of physical torment. The scripture does not lie, many will think they are going to enter the gates but be cast into hell.
Everyone needs to search their hearts and truly repent. We are all sinners but important to keep His commandments and *RESIST* the temptation to live in sin. (Refining by fire).
1 John 2:15-17 King James Version
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth *THE WILL* of God abideth for ever.
Don't forget, many false doctrines are ITCHING to the ears. Teaching people its okay to live in their sin & not renewing their minds & character in Christ is ITCHING to the ears.

Well if they were living their life by the law then what happened was they just simply got judged by the law and as the Bible says no flesh will be made righteous by the law I mean Romans 10 9 through 10 tells us how we are saved it's those people didn't know the LORD it's probably because they never truly believed that they were being saved by what JESUS has done they were never born again they didn't say LORD we've believed in you and we've known you we have been trusting you to save us ever since we've known they didn't say that but what did they do? They brought up all the works of righteousness they had been doing...... saying Lord Lord twice sounds like they were saying Lord Lord as in pleading not like what you just said sir because if we're going to think about it the way you just said nobody's going to heaven cuz it sounds like they believed in the LORD and tried hard if indeed that is what you're saying if that's not what you're saying then excuse me but I can't bear to watch any more of this video goodbye

What is wrong with saying the Holy Spirit resides in us. Where is Jesus? At the right hand of the Father inter-ceeding on our behalf. We are described as being different parts of the body of Christ, each having an important role and none be greater than the other. We know that the Trinity is three in one which is a great mystery. Jesus made the distinction between the three having separate roles while accomplishing the same purpose, which is "To do the Will of My Father. God said it and that should be good enough for His Church.

Any time I hear a preacher use the term, “cheap grace.” I know I’m probably about to hear a straw man where it’s said that there are a lot of people encouraging others to just say a prayer without believing. I’ve not met these preachers. The fact is that belief is the only thing that saves. Committing yourself to him is something we should do, but has nothing to do with the free gift of eternal life by faith alone. And yes, once you believe, you never have to worry again.

Troy Duray: then define belief. It seems many come up with their own definition of belief/faith just as many try to justify sin that they don't want to give up on. This is why we need to check our faith continually. This pastors message is spot on & those that won't accept it as God's truth will try to justify why it is not.

You sir do not preach the gospel of Christ...
"Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF ONE the FREE GIFT came upon all men unto justification of life. 19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the OBEDIENCE OF ONE shall many be made righteous." Romans 5:18-19
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
"But to him that WORKETH NOT, but BELIEVETH on him that justifieth the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness." Romans 4:5
"And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:30
It is simply BELIEF in the FINISHED WORK of Jesus Christ. Not by our obedience, which is filthy rags to God, but by HIS obedience. The verses of Matthew 7:21-23 preach clearly against a works based salvation that you are pushing. How in the world can you possibly get this so wrong?
Discipleship is NOT the gospel of our salvation.

    • @UnionChurchLH
      @UnionChurchLH  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

You missed the whole point of the message. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone. This message warns those who have trusted an experience, a prayer or anything else, that it is a spurious gospel. The true believer shows evidence of the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in their life. The question (as noted in the Book of James) is "What constitutes "belief"? Discipleship is the RESULT of our salvation.

This is all too much. Jesus said unless you turn and become as a little child you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. A little child doesn't understand all these things and all these questions pertaining to examining themselves. All it takes to be saved is conviction of the Holy Spirit, the preaching and hearing of the Gospel, and childlike faith to believe it. Once they believe, The Holy Spirit will change desires and habits. Most none of us understood any of these things when we first got saved. We just simply believed.. When I first believed my desires began to change without me trying to change. I didn't really understand what was going on at first so I rejected it though in the back of mind I believed it was God. But after some real good correction I completely surrendered my life to Jesus and that was several years later after I was brought to that understanding. But I know now that I was already saved. Just ignorant. But the Holy Spirit has been growing me ever since. Only faith saves not works. And just because someone isn't doing the "will" of God from what we can see which for some reason we automatically make that mean keeping commandments, doesnt mean they aren't saved. Per the Bible if we believe the Gospel and surrender to Jesus the best way we know how...as a little child. Then we will be saved. We've become too smart for our own good. The Lord had to correct me on this so I'm not pointing fingers at anybody without myself included. But when you know better you do better.

Terrifinng if you are trusting in your righteousness not Jesus righteousness all these people bragged about their works not one said thank you Jesus for dying for all of our sins past present and future the will of the father is to believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. Ephesians 2 8-9 For we are saved by grace not of anything we do it's the gift of God not of works that anyone should boast. So Mathew 7:21-23 is Terrifinng for those who are trusting in your righteousness and works not in Jesus finished work upon the cross. This pastor sounds like a typical Calvanist scaring people without offering the gospel and the good news that Jesus died for all your sins. He who knew no sin became sin so we could be called the righteousness of God. So this guy offers only condemnation, but there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Trust in Jesus not some sinful man let God be true and all men be liars

You seem to feel you have great insight into my heart. You are apparently not a good listener. If you listened, you would know that I believe entirely in grace by faith alone. I believe this grace, when truly received is transformative. Those who are not transformed (and perhaps only sit in condemnation of others) have a spurious faith. True faith is not merely intellectual, it yields a practical result. I hope you find that grace that softens your heart.
