I played through this game after I got 10,000,000pts.
After released about 35 years, I still love this video game.
Prologue :
A prophecy of fire has been passed down since ancient times on the beautifully shining water asteroid Latis. Everyone seemed to take it lightly, even if it was true or an event far in the future.
But now, that day has come. The Salamander Army, an elite squadron of the Bacterian sub-space cluster, which continues to invade with great force, is about to destroy the planet. Latis, which has been absorbed by the Salamander Army's ultimate life form systemizer, "Zeros Force," no longer has any fighting ability. Lord British, the prince of Latis, boarded a space-time fighter and began a counterattack, but the enemy's attack was beyond imagination.
The prince barely escaped from Zeros Force and sent a distress signal to planet Gradius, where the Zeros Army had been defeated. The hero of Gradius, who received the message, had his hyper-space-time fighter sent out. The two machines began intercepting the Salamander's home planet, which controls everything.
