Throughout his stage presence, he is addressing a significant issue in Croatia - emigration (from villages to big cities) - but does so in his own unique style. He incorporates elements like cows🐮, meows🐱, and screams🤪 into his lyrics and performances to make it more enjoyable and an inspiring song, as otherwise it could be too sad. Moreover, his ability to seamlessly blend different music styles and traditions, such as incorporating parts of traditional dances and sleeves, with the modern craziness of society is truly remarkable. His song and background story are incredibly inspirational (this public performance was only his 2nd as a singer, before he was in guitarist in various bands - e.g. Manntra). You should also watch his official video of the song for a better clarification of the story.

Thank you for your review 😻. His voice is much, much better now, watch his performance from London. It's not about the voice here (we're not looking for a new Pavarotti), but about the whole package. In addition to an infectious song (which he made alone in his room), this boy also brings value, because he is a fantastic person. With his personality, he won the hearts of fans around the world. That deserves to win ESC 2024
He has said himself in interviews that he is not a singer and when they asked him about his preparation in general for ESC, he said he took vocal lessons to get better. Honest, humble, and always very sweet. When he cried, going back to Croatia after Eurovision, telling the ppl that gathered to congratz him that he hope he made them proud.. he melted our hearts! Meow from Athens, Greece!!! You should check his final performance. It's fine if you do not like the song Zoe, but it's definetely in my playlist and stuck in my head!

@@Krissstiine It is what I wrote a month ago. I still love New Zealand, but I wouldn't recommend Eurovision anymore, at least for the first coming years. Until the EBU has fixed the problems they created this year.
Several artists from different countries like Lithuania, Ireland and Norway have felt really unsafe. Joost Klein was fed up for the same reason.
I'm from Zeeland. Zeeland is a province of The Netherlands. The Dutch named New Zealand after this province when Abel Tasman discovered the island in 1642.
I love croatias song this year! I think they have a good chance of winning ! I get what you said about the song being jolting but I enjoy that lol have you ever heard of electric callboy? They are a metal band that mix techno in their songs, so I’m getting total vibes from them with song and the techno breakdown 😂 and you’re right about the farmer vibes to this song. It’s about him leaving his farm village and going off into the big city!

He was the lyrics and music creator of the song that was brought into the national competition by chance (just because one that got through decided to leave the competition) and only had a month to prepare. He had never sung before this competition...
He is fabulous . Everything in this performance is spot on . This song has it all and it’s like 3 songs in one . If this confused you , wait until you hear the Greek entry 😅 .
When the Queen put out the Bohemian rhapsody they believed that it was all over the place and then become one of the greatest song written ever🎉❤

I'll tell you WHY this song should win ESC. Beside being so highly catchy and relatable. He himself wrote his lyrics, made music, arangement and came up with this staging in 1 MONTH (doing all other things like interviews, official video etc) as he came to competition as a reserve. His girlfriend is in charge of his visuals and his brother is a drummer, and everything is made mostly with a help of his family and close friends. This guy delivered, not only a song, but values too. He's not bringing nudity, cursing and there's no any other provocation inside his lyrics or visuals. That's what ESC is all about. It's the essence of this festival. It's a SONG competition made by an author himself. Marko himself is not aware of what he delivered
the music is literally rammsteins laichzeit with slight adaptations, so i would take some points for the "originality" of the instrumentals. But apart from that, great party song, catchy. And the context finally brings light towards the fate of many southeastern european migrants.
I also liked the song of switzerland because of it's vocal complexity and perfect execution, respect where respect is due. So I'm not mad about the jury points. Switzerland i can enjoy with a glass of wine alone, Croatia at a big party
@@tschabow5608 You have the right to your opinion, but is it normal for you that the jury from so many countries participating in the voting push one song so obviously? and they don't give a single point to the audience's favoritism? an obvious set-up for reasons known only to them. They were so afraid of Croatia's victory that 34 people went against the will of millions of voters. No one will hear the winning song again, but baby Lasagna is on the charts alongside Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. I'm happy for that guy because he won the hearts of many... as for samples from Rammstein, it's not unknown or illegal in the world of music to buy samples. Pay and do what you want with it. For me, Loreen won with the already heard song Euforia. Nothing was spectacular to me, so I didn't see anyone calling her out for plagiarism. According to me, Kaaria should have won that year.

I'm pretty sure Marko (Baby Lasagna) has had absolutely no formal vocal training until now. In fact, this performance was only his second stage performance ever as a solo artist. If you watch the official music video for this, you'll see exactly what this is about, which is a very serious issue for Croatia and many other countries.

You need to watch the actual Eurovision Song Contest for the best sound quality. National song contest qualification rounds just don't have it. And the song (which he wrote himself) is a sad story about how so many young people have to emigrate from Croatia, leaving the older genertions behind.

We Love Baby Lasagna 's Rim Tim Tagi Dim. I Was backing France and Italy but I First heard of Baby Lasagna after the Finals and is Watching his Finals in Eurovision at least 5 times a Day!
He performed at the final of Eurovision and he got a lot better in his vocals, he even came second while being loved by a lot of people, absolutely worth to react to 😮

The singer is call Slimane [sli-man] , is the winner of the voice france and since 2016 he remain one of the best .

4:17 he is not singer. He is a songwriter (e.g. co-writing several tracks for Mono Inc.) and music producer, but he was the guitarist AND BACK VOCALIST for Manntra, a Croatian metal/rock band.

I can explain the meaning of the song in advance, so that you don't need to search. Understanding the lyrics really enhances the impact of the entire performance in this case, because the dancing, gestures and face expressions vividly depict the lyrics.
The song is about mental struggles and fighting to overcome them on you own - Self empowerment. Explaining the choreography, the dancers are/represent the struggles and her demons and at the end she makes them disappear with her scream overcoming the struggle . Grito = scream . The white is to represent the flames, the pure white light the that emanates from the soft candle flames and the purity of the rebirth

Any time I see Eurovision, all I can think of is Hunger Games, pure nutty end of the world artificial dystopia
Infact it is a mix of industrial rock, the hipnotic bam-bam-bam, bam of early Rammstein + electronics but he have inserted the istrian dance moves inside : bam-bam-bam-bam TA-TA bam very quick but high vertical steps and a single wider forward -rear one . And English, so everyone understand what he say.

In my view, this song and the singer are pretty much a copy-paste (or at least extremely inspired) of Kaarija's cha cha cha. From vocals to music, the costume of the singer etc the list is long. I am surprised to see many people voting for them but I guess this type of music is pretty much engaging. I couldn't vote for this song only because it's not original at all. 🤷
