I played this when it first came out, what an experience to remember for life. The only flaw is that alien ship feels cheap, it needs a better design. This is the only game that presented space in its true quality. Your arena is vastly different from conventional setting. 6 degree freedom and boundless. This is an impression I never felt in any other game or media, where space itself is scary and interesting. Incredible how a limited 700MB CD created an seemingly out of bound game world. I just finished playing Homeworld looking for a similar game and Nexus is something I was not prepared for, HW was a surprise and Nexus was another, then I was never able to find games like them again.
One of my favourites from a decade ago, I couldn't beat the last mission. I was watching a lot of 2000s sci-fi shows at the time with my dad and it fell perfectly in with them.
A the space battle simulator from Imperium Galactica III that became a standalone game when that one was canned. This would have been epic and ambitious embedded into a 4x game.
interstate 76. An incredible game. My gog copy unfortunately runs too fast tho. It was made using the mechwarrior 2 engine and had a button so your friend, who has a massive fro and belbottoms, shared some of his poetry.

Thanks so much! Especially since I'm still figuring things out.

I always adored this game. Story was weird, but the gameplay was fantastic!
