Dear Joe, I don’t know what you are trying to figure out by switching podcast member in and out but this 6 is elite. Joe, Mel, Flip, Ish, Ice, and Parks offers a listening that is so dynamic. The difference of personalities and opinions is what make this show so easy to watch. With all due respect Joe, I do not watch this podcast because I agree with all your opinions. I watch it because no matter what the discussion is, I always end up agreeing with somebody. When you switch it up I find myself feeling left out just wishing someone else was there who could speak for me. Hope this helps.

Excessive corporal punishment comes from a misunderstanding of the scripture, he that spears the rod hates his child, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. The scripture means that if you don't discipline your children you're not really invested in their growth, the word discipline does not mean corporal punishment. But also if you do implement corporal punishment it should hurt you as much as it hurts the child, if you get joy out of physically beating your children you should probably stop doing it.That's not what we're used to hearing which is he that spares his rod spoils his child which isn't the scripture. That scripture does not mean beat your kids for any reason. If you are raising your children properly it is very rare that you will have to physically beat them. The best practice in my opinion is to punish for behavior not mistakes. If you drop a glass and break it that is a mistake, if you throw a glass that is behavior. But I would still revert to a conversation first. That's why we have so many people doing so many unspeakable things right now, because they think violence is the first option. It's time for black folks to realize that saying you do not beat your kids does not make you less black..
