I think it would have worked better if it was about adult Audrey and Seymour’s kids dealing with that Audrey III we see during the theatrical ending. We see them try to hide it, thinking that their dad (Seymour) will kill their new “friend” if he finds out, knowing about what happened with Audrey II. Each episode would be about the kids, being much more easily manipulated than someone like Seymour, doing the plant’s tasks more willingly. Heck, if we ever get a Little Shop Of Horrors Sequel, which probably will never happen, I want this to be the plot.
It kind of reminds me of the beetle juice cartoon. It’s a cartoon in which the villain becomes like a brother. The difference is the beetle juice cartoon had a basic plot
I have a feeling this version of Audrey 2 feeds off the blood and integrity of the original musical, and she convinced some executive to feed it to her in the promise of letting him competing with big name cartoons at the time.
I do give this cartoon props for incorporating some elements of the Roger Corman movie: Audrey Junior's name, his planting "seeds of ideas", Seymour having a mom, and the Jack Nicholson caricature (Nicholson's first role was a bit part in Corman's movie...later prints have played up the "STARRING JACK NICHOLSON!!!" business when he's only in it for five minutes). And the "dude who ate flowers" was straight out of the original as well. No kid was going to get these, but I guess they were aiming for adult fans of schlock movies that might be watching.

If I remember correctly, one of them had ulterior motives toward the other, or maybe they both did. I actually liked the song, "Running in slow motion with you." It perfectly fit the farcical nature of their relationship.

Taking a look, all merch I can find is either directly tied to the 1986 film, a generic "inspired by" thing (like the non-branded "Feed Me" board game, or modern nostalgia stuff (fan shirts, funko). It's just a thing that happened and we have to deal now. I forgot to mention this in the video but roger Corman has a minor credit in it, though it's likely just a case of him saying "yeah sure do that" and cashing the check.
I still got some entertainment out of it while doing the video. (Albeit probably not the kind they wanted) It's a good time capsule to that short but sweet time period after all the licensed 70/80s cartoons but right before the 90s Nicktoons age.
Creating it's own monster episode? 1) Audrey 2= female / "mean green Mother"= female. So why Audrey 2 can't have own little monsters? Victor Frankenstein is a male so his desire to directly create life is from that. Why a plant with a girls name would be a boy? It has was years ago when I saw one episode of this show so can't be shore, was it still Audrey 2? Sadly like the Mask's cartoon & movie sequel this just missed so much of the fun of the original. With darker plots now not just in Anime but in US animation it would be fun to see a cleaver update, Hannibal/ Dexter style. Have seen the 1st movie, in a bad tv time stayed up thinking I was waiting for Oz's movie. How it was made into a musical I'll never know, "Feed Me!"- so cleaver.
