Great dancing! I especially like how they check their position constantly (good example is the centers hand touching after each step in a Load the Boat). Zoe, we don't have a lot of young people in the US square dancing either. MIT offers Square Dancing as a Phys Ed class, and then they have the student Square Dance club, the Tech Squares, for students to join if they want to continue dancing after the class.
If anyone's interested in running a square dance holiday in the UK, I can recommend HF Holidays, founded just over 100 years ago and now a co-op. The company owns country house hotels in the UK, including several currently used for English country dancing, such as one in Malhamdale (near Skipton, Yorkshire).
I'm interested in knowing if any of these dancers continued dancing and are currently participating in square dancing or contra dancing. These are some "cool-headed" dancers, able to respond to any call without hesitation.
Quite a few Tech Squares regulars no longer attend MIT but still show up every week to dance. More than that, some who have learned the programs through Challenge still "angel" the Plus learners at Tech. It's a Tech policy that every learner is paired with an experienced dancer throughout the class. That, and excellent teaching and calling adapted to the situation, is how they can graduate Plus dancers in 13 weeks (including Basic and Mainstream).
that's so unfair. I do understand though as our club has several "single" women. However, sometimes I want a rest so I love to "lend" my husband to them. Keep looking.
Love this overhead view.
I'm not shure if I'd rather dance with or call for a crew like that. Amazing.
Are any of these still dancing today, 12 years later?
I love watching this group of young dancers! They are amazing!
Wonderful! I'd love too see more young people in our area get involved in the activity
It’s great to see young kids get involved in square dance and they are plus level great job fun to watch
I'm doing plus lessons now and I am exhausted just watching 😂
Me, too! 😅

Good to see young people enjoying a great national pastime and doing it so well
I love this. I wish our clubs in the UK would do more work with young people.
How smooth. Reminds me of when we Square Danced. Very nice. Good job.
This is great! I come back to watch it again every few months.

Congratulations everyone. Nice dancing, good musik and very good caller. I would like to learn this pattern, too.

Fun, fun, fun!
I am currently promoting our beginners' courses that will be starting in September or October and include a link to this video with each email I send.
Nice Dancin' and Callin'
Great.
OMG, I’d give anything to belong to this group! I love Plus dancing but the groups here in central Oklahoma don’t allow single females.
