I think in the 1930's it would be offered as "Painted" bright aluminum would be offered in the late 1940's 50's I think in my opinion, I am pretty good with 1930's history. more than likely the original size of the windows are covered over with the aluminum patching on the side they cut the door entry in.
When I lived in Southern California there was a trailer very similar to this that had a cabin built around it ,I visited it once in 1996 and in 03ish ,but it burned down in 08 and I think the remains where scrapped .
If that is a place you frequent, it would certainly be worth chatting with the owners and seeing if you can pull a few parts from it. If it's really a Pierce Arrow, parts are seriously valuable and rare.
boy I hope noone buys this and just rips it apart, so many people do that , they can demo things but have no clue how to put them back together so despite their good intentions they just destroy. Unfortunately I can not afford it but man I would love to own that. I would put it back as close to original as possible, probably paint it a green color and put the black stripes back on.
The person who buys this will most likely be a serious and tenured restorer, or willing to hire one. I wouldn't sell it to an amateur who wants a DIY pinterest project.

There is a trailer very similar to this one behind the Bean Depot in ElJobean Florida. The big difference is that it has a tree growing through it.
