The Fuelpak FP3 is obviously know as a great solution for tuning the fuel and ignition curves on your motorcycle. But it's also loaded with tons of functionality. One of those functions is the Auto -Tune function which allows you to customize your map for your bike.

Thanks for posting this. It would be nice if the cells didn’t clear when you choose to “add” the current session so you could keep watching the map develop. I’m on my third session next week and will probably select “finish” after that one.
It would be nice but someone made a great point on another video. Take a screenshot every time you finish a session. I know it's not the same but hopefully it'll help.

Everything I do autotune and then hit apply value and then hit apply bike goes thru it shut down and restart.When I go back into autotune it's blank like I never did it why

How do you solve your problem with low rpm popping and sometimes in 3rd, 4th and even 5th gear around 3-4k rpm during acceleration it wants to bogged down, pop and after you twist up and down on the throttle it will go ahead and pull. This is a M8 with a cam change been done to it. I've tried to Auto Tune it myself but maybe I'm not doing something right. What's your take?
I agree I’m going to start auto tuning today but I’ve had problems with my 114 popping like crazy at 2-3k even with a stock cam did you find a solution?

I looked at these fuel blocks they are all yellow ,orange , and red with 11, 15 ,17 numbers why is that ? No green , no blue just orange and red.. Yes im a noob for tuning

Question I have is, I ride alone sometimes and sometimes my lady rides with me. Should I auto tune with her on it or off it and would that make a difference in the tune? I’m all new to this and haven’t bought it yet...yet! But I just wonder if it would make a difference since the load the bike will be carrying is more with the both of us vs just myself. Idk if you ever got your answer or if you already did it. But yes have her sit on the back if she’s going to be back there more times than not. Also find a good stretch of road where you can get up to your full ranges it’s going to be loud. I recommend doing a session riding the bike as you normally would and with slow speed then apply. Second session empty roads with more of a get up and go from first to third trying to hit up to you 5ks, apply after, third is basically your clean up cells try to look in and see what you have and don’t have completely dialed. You should roll smoothly up and roll smoothly off until you hit the targets. If have never done or seen a dyno done in person then I recommend watching some videos per say to kinda see how they lock in those readings.

I have not seen a synopsis run other than videos but I’ll definitely check into that and may more attention to what it is they are doing with the runs. Thanks again
Good video but people should be told to read the manual and to run two tanks of gas before the hit auto tune and to hit finish and after Greg auto tune or it will stay in auto tune and the bike will run rough in auto tune and that not hear say .. that is in the Vance and Hines manual for the tuner

Flashed a map to my bike and ran through two tanks. Just tried to autotune, rode for an hour and it was working. Rode another hour home and now the FP3 will not connect to either my iPhone or Android. Not sure what happened
Does the Fuelpak 3 have to be connected all the time after completely finishing auto tune or can I unplug it not sure if it saves it to the bike if you unplug it
once you are done, you can unplug it. It's already written the ecu file over with the map you created. I like keeping it on there just to check sensor data if need be though.
So let’s say I’m pulling into the driveway after ride on the auto tune selection, do I just turn the key off and not the switch before hitting apply or?
The key will have to be on and the unit connected via bluetooth to "apply"
When you do auto tune do you have turn on auto tune manually every time on your phone when you start the bike again or is it defaulted on till you turn it off?
It will stay in auto tune once you started until you hit finish. If you hit apply it will learn the applied values but keep running auto tune. Hope that makes sense. You don’t have to keep turning it on but I bring it up on my phone to see the data as I ride anywase.
Quick question..I know this video is old. I did a few sessions today. I applied them but didn't hit finish. Is it OK to pick up where I left off in a few days or will all I did today be lost if I don't "finish"? I feel I need to get more miles in but the next few days call for rain. Thanks
Apply keeps the bike in autotune finish takes the bike out and uses the map you created.

When you are done with the tune after you select finish, can you unplug the tuner? Or do you leave it plugged in?

You can unplug it. You’re applying a “map” onto the motorcycle’s computer. This doesn’t require the external module (fp3) to remain attached. It’s similar to what you’d do if you went into a shop to have your EFI bike tuned; once the map is applied, the bike will operate based on that map until you flash the ecm with something else.
I need to ask a question. On my 2013 when i looked into the data plug there are actually only 3 pins in the plug. I saw that the FP3 is either a 6 pin or a 4 pin. Is it possible that one of the pins has snapped off on my bike? I did buy it used.
My bike only had 3 pins too. Almost shat myself. A quick google search explains it.

swap the plugs back to stock and see if it idles. Also make sure you don't have an exhaust leak.

How long of a ride? I'm hearing that running the bike for a full tank should cover it.
FP3 owners manual indicts 20-60 minutes per ride.
Tried to run auto tune and it was horrible. Just put the basic map back on and the bike runs lot better
My Autotune will only turn orange and nothing else no matter what I do, maybe it’s because of the Zipper 468 Cam even it is flashed with the that cam.. don’t get it ?

Sure, you can sell anything. Will it work on another bike? Nope.... Once you sync it to your bike, it's married to that ECU/VIN.
You should mention that as soon as you tune outside epa standards, your motor is flagged and your engine warrenty voided. Forever.
Actually as soon as you install the fp3 you voided the warranty so doesn’t matter what you do after that lmao.

None. The factory tuned your bike to the stock config.
When choosing the map and then starting autotune it really stumbles in neutral when u throttle at all.... is there a process before getting on and riding? Don't want it stuttering and stumbling while I'm on it
While its in autotune, it wont run great. After you apply then ride more, then hit finish, it will be better.
Does it adjust timing?
I don't believe it does.. I think you can adjust the timing in another area of the fp3. I'm told you have to know what you are doing to avoid engine damage.

You guys who aren’t getting green blocks and/or it’s adding a ton of fuel: maybe use a better base map or your bike is built way past the normal auto tuning parameters.
My Triumph (2009 America) did this automatically and continually as I rode. So when I rode from sea level to 9000 ft elevation, the bike learned and adapted to the riding style and environment. Someday maybe Harley will get there. They're only 11 years behind.

This tuner is straight garbage. Base maps made bike run horribly and autotune does not work the blocks stay white. Customer service is non-existent. Waste of money and time. Go to Harley

Sorry but Vance and Hines is missing the boat!!! I am tossing my FP3 and going to Dynojet, simple reason my friend bought a 2012 CVO Convertible and V&H does not support it period!!! So I say Goodbye!!!
