Vedic astrology will be approx 23 degrees behind western which is tropical. So you should know ur vedic rashi which is moon sign, and lagna ur ascendant. Events these astrologers predict may not reflect in your life coz they are very general and you need to check your mahadasha running. Suppose you are running Saturn maha dasha, things are very slow and you need to work hard for small things etc based on ruler ship of Saturn in your chart. Hope it helps.
