  • By: Alistair Begg || Preached November 7, 1999 - (Luke 7:18) John the Baptist was a hero of the faith. We often overlook, though, his doubt when the Messiah’s arrival turned out differently than he’d imagined. Often, Alistair Begg explains, we behave similarly: we want God’s judgment on the undeserving wicked, but think ourselves worthy of salvation. Do we realize we each have a need that God alone can meet-and that it can only be met through His grace, not our merits?

Oh brother In the Lord, how clearly you explained this chapter. We’re studying Luke at Know Your Bible (KYB), for ladies, In Australia , and this has been such an eye opener, though I’ve read It for as long as you, born In 1952 like you. The part about the sulking children was so prophetic for you. You were in our prayers and trust that storm Is over. Your ministry Is a real blessing. We enjoy the humour and lyrics. Thank God for you, Alistair.
