The fact that she is predicting what happens and ends up right is not because she seen dbz but because she is actually paying attention to the show becoming involved in the story making it quite simple to see what’s coming next
Exactly. I picked up most of this stuff as a kid.
I mean as legendary as DBZ is, and rightfully so - it doesn’t have some crazy 4D chess, intricate plot of something like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, or Attack on Titan.

@@thomasanderson2384 In theory yes but the pieces where layed out. I had the advantage of playing like all the games and a few pieces of the manga as a kiddo. One of the more simple time line arcs to get a hold of as opposed to other stories.

agreed. i always prefered his synth/rock style music in dbz over the japanese music and the original american dub music. i was seriously disappointed when i heard he wouldn't be doing the music for super

Vegeta has the longest character development Arc in all of dragon Ball Z almost start to finish. It starts in the Saiyan saga and ends in the Buu saga. It's also the most fulfilling because he almost changes on the inside completely. Sure you still get what he portrays on the outside but you can tell he's not a monster anymore.

Vegeta has the the greatest themes, the greatest dialogue and the greatest character development throughout the series.
For me he is the main character.
Vegeta is hands down the best character in the show. So very well written.
What isn’t very well written is how the antidote was back home, it’s not like Trunks literally told him that he would get the heart disease. And it’s not like this is the first time that his heart struggled, he must’ve trained a couple of days earlier. Or did he coincidentally get the virus the day before? Bad writing

I always love how Vegeta saves Goku and then passes it off as though he only did it so that he can kill Goku later. I always love the idea of enemies forced to team up to defeat an even worse enemy. I guess that's why Namek and Android sagas are my favourite.
The buu saga is great too in its own way!

Vageta transforming with the piano in the background and creating that crater is one of my favorite scenes in the series!
We later discover that Super Saiyan comes from two things. Great emotional upheaval, and a NEED for the form, not just a want. The way I've always viewed it is thus: Goku felt rage at Frieza, and the need to stop him. It was a heroic but dark moment, with him finally just letting his inner Saiyan out in full force, no longer pulling punches, fighting to kill because it was all that would work against Frieza.
Vegeta's transformation, however, was inward. He felt rage and hate, but directed at himself. The second he gave up, the second he decided that he just didn't care about pushing himself through this torture, he was letting go of a lifetime of pride as a prince, a lifetime of pushing towards being a Super Saiyan for himself and his race. When he stopped caring about being a Super Saiyan, he stopped caring about every single thing his life had meant up until that point. This was an immense emotional downpour, with Vegeta being hit by utter self-loathing, feeling like he was giving up on the memory of his people, giving up on himself as the prince of a warrior race.
He needed, more than anything, to not let this happen. To not let the proud Saiyan Prince accept defeat, to not let his entire life be for nothing. He NEEDED it all to mean something.
This need mixed with his emotional upheaval, like Goku Vegeta had come upon a character defining moment of change, and thus, a Super Saiyan was born. It's a very cool moment, still one of the greatest; the very act of giving up on becoming a Super Saiyan, giving up on his life's entire goal basically, is what triggers the transformation.
The look you gave her when she said “you can tell he got stronger too” is priceless lmaoo.
Vegeta has always been the best despite the scenario is ridged and fixed against him.
I love how Vegeta sees a dying Goku on the ground and proceeds to scold him lol also the fact he kicked 19 so hard he left a print on it's face. lmao

This was easily one of the most iconic and badass moment for the OG dbz. Seeing the 2nd person to achieve this and the prince nonetheless. One of my favorite episodes
The moment Vegeta let go of his pride it happened. He let his ego slip away for a moment, and that was enough. He was right on the precipice of his transformation but he was in his own way. It only took a brief moment for him to let all of that tension and jealousy go for his super saiyan form to come BURSTING out of him.

So hyped for this, one of my all time favorite episodes with my all-time favorite character. can't blame me for Vegeta being my favorite either. First episode I've ever seen when I was a kid was the one where Vegeta blew up Cui. With everything being an absolute mystery for me at that point and how badass Vegeta was in that moment it's kind of a no-brainer

As an adult, many want to be Vegeta.
He has an amazing character development throughout the show. From the Saiyan Saga, Frieza, and now Android saga, he came a long way.

love this episode, the moment Vegeta claims his title as super Saiyan! Keep in mind Vegeta is stronger than Goku at this point, Goku only trained at 100x times gravity on his way to Namek, Vegeta at 450x, so his base form was much stronger not including the multiplier of going Super Saiyan which is about a 50x power boost. Even though Goku wasn't at full power either with the heart virus effecting him.
There’s also the zenkai boosts from getting hurt during training.

vegeta was always 2nd one to unlock a form after goku. So his base form will always remain superior to goku.

I remember seeing this back in 2005 with my cousins all over and we were 6 and were all yelling so loud.
My elder cousin shouted Vegeta is going to become a SSJ so loud that my dad had to storm into the room to keep us to quieten then.
He didn’t know who is Vegeta and when my cousin told him Vegeta is a super saiyan now my dad said well he isn’t gonna stop me from kicking all your ass if you don’t shut up. It was so funny

I remember watching this for the first time, and this was the first time Vegeta had a theme, that eerie piano or keyboard sound. Then his hair started to flash, and my cousins and I lost it. This was like 8th or 9th grade for me. Good times.

TFS has my favorite addition to this scene ever and I can never not hear it. As Vegeta is powering up, Gero just screams, "SERIOUSLY!? WHAT THE F&#$ IS NAMEK!?" Makes me laugh everytime.

This one is one of my favorite scenes from the entire franchise and this was the first time I've watched it in english. The only thing I dislike, is what Vegeta replied to Krilin. In both spanish and portuguese, when Krilin says "I thought super saiyans had to be calm and pure hearted", Vegeta replies "but I AM calmed, and my heart is pure... my heart is pure evil". Also, throughout the scene, "Soshi Se Yo" was playing, so it made it a lot more epic. I really advise you to look for that scene.
Btw, your GF is smart. On hindsight, it should have been obvious that Vegeta was going ssj on this battle.

Vegeta's entrances are so epic.
One of the main differences between Vegeta and Goku besides personality is their approaches to fighting. Vegeta almost always sits aside watches an initial fight to assess and learn before he makes his move. Goku tends to run head first in his fight and almost always learns after he loses his initial fight. And the flashback heightens that Goku turned into a Super Saiyan when he was so angry after Frieza killed Krillin Vegeta’s anger drive was out of pure frustration of being one upped by Goku.
The way he looks at the camera when she asks “did he reach super saiyan ?” Lmao she is too good .

I don’t think it was Vegeta’s rage that caused him turning to SSJ. Vegeta was tired of chasing Goku. It was in his head for soo long, and blocking him to go further and once he decided to not care, his power has been revealed. It’s like running the water from the tap and holding the tap with your finger and suddenly u take off the finger from it. It was everything in Vegeta’s head all the time.
Goku didn’t had this problem because naturally he is gentle and chill. He doesn’t have any pressure. All he needed was the pure rage. Vegeta had this pure rage for years as this is in his saiyan nature but his obsession of becoming the strongest fighter and later also stronger than Goku was blocking his full potential and finally in the best moment of his life, he decided to forget about his obsession
